“Yick,” Merlin muttered, the grimy sewer water pooling around her clunky boots that she had decided to wear for this expedition. Her scarf, bright red and very conspicuous, was wrapped around her neck and tied around herleft arm in order to keep the disgusting sewage from touching it. Wearing blue jeans tucked into her muddy brown boots and a yellow sweater, Merlin had the distinct look of someone whose wardrobe belonged to a blind person. To complete her outfit, a pair of huge goggles perched on her head.

The only reason she was down here was because some idiot had thrown her harp down here. True, it was only a small harp, compared to the giant orchestra harps, but that didn't men anything. It had fewer octaves, and was easier to carry around, but that was all. Actually, that was the reason Merlin used this harp. It was small. Using a small harp meant that she could use it pretty much everywhere, an excellent thing for her. Now, however, it was somewhere in this stinky place. Unfortunetly, this meant that, besides the little martial arts that she’d been taught, she was helpless to defend herself.

Not like she’d need defending. There was nothing down here. Nothing except smell, nasty water, rats, and flies anyway. It was truly a place of grime and filth, both of which Merlin detested. However, she needed her harp, so she continued, hearing nothing but the drip of water falling from the ceiling.

Red groaned. She had been searching and exploring this damned place, and yet, look where she found herself. Rolling her eyes and picking up a booted foot, she wrinkled her pale nose in disgust. This really was the most wretched place to be.

When she has entered it, she was midly curious, except for the clinging smell. And when Red had stepped down from the ladder, she slipped, fell into the icky running water and was swept away. Because of her clumsiness, which rarely ever happens, she got disorientated and covered head to toe in grime. Which, all the more pissed her off.

Swiping a hand down her long braid, she tried to get most of the crap off, but it didn't help much. Shrugging, she moved on. Searching high and low, she tried to find and exit, or some type of opening to get through, but there wasn't much to find. It was all rounded concrete walls.

Yelping in surprise, Red hopped on her left foot, holding up her right just behind her. Something had bitten her ankle. Well, no not bitten. But had sharply cut into it. Atleast she wasn't bleeding. Reaching into the solid liquid, she pulled out a small harp. Blinking, she tilted her head. "What the...?" Her voice was soft.

Shrugging for the millionth time, Red unconciously wiped off her black tank top and stuck the flute in a side pocket on her right Dickie's pant leg. Now, she got a prize for being stuck in here. She just needed a way out.

A sharp yelp cut through the monotonous drip of the water and the splashes her footsteps made as she trudged through the tunnels. Startled, Merlin lost her balance, and fell onto the wall. Pushing off to stand upright once more, Merlin looked around.

"Hello?" she called, wondering if she had been hearing things or if someone (or something) was out there. "Anyone there?"

No response.

"Helooooooooo?"

Merlin was beginning to get mad. It was dark, dank, moldy, and stinky in the sewers, she would much rather be reading, and whatever this thing was refused to respond. She was getting more and more sure that whoever it was was ignoring her. "I know someone's down here! Can you hear me?"

Growling to herself, Red sighed. She was really, really lost, and it was really damn annoying. Yelping, yet again, she slipped back into the rank liquid. Sitting on her ass, she splashed the water hard with her fists, like a five year old. "WHAT THE HELL!?" This was just not her day, or night. She didn't know the time, either anymore.

Getting up, she nearly fell over when a loud yell cut across the chambers of the sewers. "I hope this person can help me, or thing.." She trailed off before yelling back, "OVER HERE!" Kicking at the water, she decided to stay in place. The thing, or person, was probably still walking, so it could just come to her.
"Hey! Hey!" She said randomly, giving more noise for the person to go off of.

Red closed her eyes, tried to get a grip on herself mentally, and sighed. 'Everything is going to be fine..' Red thought to herself. Shuddering, she gagged as something large and brown floated past her. Suddenly, she had an urge to scream and cry, and, well, be girly. Now that really pissed her off. She never needed saving, and right now, she really wished for that knight in shinning armor.

"Hah, that is a load of bull, Red. Get over yerself, and get your own lilly patootie out of here." But still, Red didn't budge. She was sure that thing or person was going to come her her, and she wasn't moving till it did. That was the end of that.

"WHAT THE HELL!"

The nasty shriek came from just ahead, the echoes magnifying the yell. Merlin almost lost her balance, but, really not wanting to fall in the water, she regained her balance and raced forward, all too aware of the loud splashes she was making.

That was when she stepped on something.

Leaping back, Merlin studied what she had trodden on.

A teen, probably a little older than herself, with hair like fire and a temper worse, she bet. In her opinion, people with red hair were evil and should stay home, something she derived from most of the bullies being red-heads. "Um... Hi?"

Yep, that was merlin. Step on someone then say hi.

((xD Prepare for fire!))

Red felt something trod on her. Looking up, she yelped, yet again, screamed bloody murder and then totally stopped. Blinking her hazel eyes, she seemed to be just speechless. "Uh, hi back." Pushing the girl away, she stood. Thats when Red took a deep breath.

"Who the hell do you think you are? Stepping on me and all? I mean, what the hell are you doing down here? Are you like a sewer troll? And by the looks of it, it wouldn't be put past anyone that you weren't!" Taking another deep breath she started again, "I really, really hope your sorry you did that! Because now my ankle is bleeding because of that stupid harp thing, and now my knee is throbbing because of your fat self!" Ok, so Red didn't mean that last part, but c'mon, she was severely pissed off.

Huffing, she stopped and backed up, away from the girl, not knowing if she was a meta or just human. Narrowing her eyes, she waited. And, knowing how harsh, or lack of harsh to Red, she had been, she knew tears could be coming, or if this girl had a back bone, she wouldn't be at all. Shrugging mentally, the woman was just glad she had someone to vent her anger and frustration on.

Merlin wasn't the sort of girl to cry when yelled at. She was the type to yell back.

"Well, YOU shouldn't have been sitting in the nasty sewer water to begin with! It's nasty, unhealthy, and a hazard. I could have died! Well, tripped and fal;len face first into the water, whyway, but that's worse. Yuck. Wait, did you say harp? You have my harp?"

That was Merlin, completely and totally. There was now no chance that this was a meta-human disquised as Merlin. She changed topics so quickly that the person she was conversing with often got headaches.

"I'm sorry about your knee," she added as an afterthought.

"Sorry? NOW you say sorry?" Red's temper flared. She raised her lip over her gums in a sort of snarl, saying she was beyond pissed. She was livid. Clenching her fists, she whispered, "I have a harp. I don't know if its yours, and if it is, I am not sure I am giving it back. I found it." She turned on her heel and walked away. Narrowing her eyes, she sighed.

She still had no clue where she was, and second, she was covered in slime. Third, she had a bleeding ankle from a harp, and fourth, she just got effin' stepped on! Throwing her hands up in exhasperation and defeat at the situation, not the girl, she kept moving, not caring if she followed her.

Rounding a corner, Red almost ran into a wall with a ladder attached. Yelling in triumph, she quickly climbed it and nearly fell the twenty feet as the top of her head hit the opening to the outside world. "Goddamnit.." Feeling around, she unlatched the bar, and turned the wheel until she was able to open it. No light flooded in. It was night. "Well, hot damn..." She said, pulling herself up and out, looking up at the night sky.

"Um, yes." Merlin followed as the red-headed girl stomped off. "Look, I'm strange, okay? I know I'm strange. FDon't ask me why. But I really am sorry about stepping on you. I truly am. I was just down here looking for my harp and I heard you yell and splash about but you were sitting and --"

Merlin cut herself off. "Did you say it's night?"

The blue haired girl clambered up the ladder and poked her head out. It really was night. Oh dear.

"Get back down!" she hissed, pulling the girl back down the ladder. They both landed in the sewers with a splash. "Great," she muttered. The other girl had landed on top of her. Pushing her off, Merlin stood up. "I'm sorry, but it's not safe around here at night," she explained. "That's when the vampires come out. You might get lucky and meet a friendly one, but I doubt it. It's safer to stay down here until dawn." She offered her hand to the girl.

Now... With Red shaking, purely pissed off now, she turned, glared with pure fury at the girl. After getting shoved off of her, she stood, ignoring the girls hand. In fact, she swatted it away. Nearly growling, she spoke in a hiss, punctuating each word. "I. Am. Leaving." So very tempted to kick the girl, she climbed the ladder again, but before she got to the top, she threw the harp to the bottom.

"Fuck you, bitch. Don't ever touch me again." She opened it up, stared around, and got out. Red was not happy, and in fact, only felt the livid anger running through her system. Taking a left, not even knowing where she was, she left the area and headed towards what looked like woods. Red hoped she would be able to survive this night, and keep herself in one peice.

Shaking her head, she just kept going. The sewers was just a bad time for her, and hopefully she could forget it. And, maybe, even that girl. She hoped to hell that girl didn't do anything foolish. She didn't wanna feel bad for laughing at her, and poking at her stupidity. Shrugging again, Red knew she was doing something stupid, too...

[o.o Red likes her. xD]
