Appearance: Hair: She has stick straight, thin black hair, with a light olive sheen. Her hair is cut evenly all around, hitting her midshoulders in length, with her bangs hanging right above her eyebrows. During the day, her hair is in two little braided pigtails, which sort of look like shrimp(which her brother teases her about), and she pins back her bangs, exposing her forehead. At night, and when she doesn't feel like doing her hair, she lets most of her hair hang free(at the most, loosely braiding her pigtails in), pinning her hair to the side on the left with two bobbypins. Eyes: Her eyes are a dark brown. She has a multitude of glasses she wears, including a frameless pair, and a pair of red metal glasses. Extra: Her skin is a light tone, with olive undertones, like most people of Japanese decent have. It's not perfectly clear all the time, but kept clean. Not much makeup unless she's going out. Height and weight: Chika is small, measuring only about 5'0, weighing in at about 99, 105 lbs at the very most. Store bought clothes simply hang on her thin, wiry frame. Clothing: She likes to wear light clothing, and usually goes for tanktops and sleeveless things, airy skirts, and loose shorts. She wears lots of flipflops, and only gives them up when it's cold. When it's cold, you're hardpressed to find any exposed skin on her.
Personality: By definition, Chika is slothful. She loves sleeping, laying around - just not having to do anything but what she wants to do. She's not a slacker by any means: If she has to get up to cook, to go to work, or to an appointment, she's up and at least presentable to go by fifteen minutes before she has to leave to get there on time. She's happy, a perky girl, and loves fun. She's easy to get along with, and is a wannabe comedian. She loves to see people smile, and if she's the cause of a laugh, it makes it all the better in her eyes.
She is a smart, sharp girl, and picks up concepts and such fast, but in the common sense and street smarts, she isn't very well off. She's a little bit naive.
She has a slight temper. If things don't go as she's planned, she gets grumpy, and hard to talk to. If you tell her you'll meet her at a restaurant for lunch on tuesday at 1:00, and you cancel and tell her you'll buy her breakfast or dinner that same day, there had better be apology chocolate and a plush toy attached to that offer, since she's had to replan her whole day. Who knows: She may get to sleep ten minutes late - because YOU CANCELLED.
She loves food, and loves to cook. She's not a good cook by any means, but lord help her, she tries. She likes to dance, but again, it's not something she's good at. She's a good natured, good hearted, nice girl - but she's just not exactly talented.
She has a lot of bad habits, among them are not being able to stop biting her nails, using lots of shorthand, bad handwriting, having a messy room, using too many emoticons(even when she's writing on paper - :D), and her temper could be misconstrued as a bad habit. Chika is pathologically afraid of meta-humanity. She suppresses it as a defense mechanisim; she can function in a world of meta-humans. But it's still a fear instilled in her from childhood.
Special Powers/Weapons: Imaginary Friend!: Chika does not believe she has any genetic abnormalites. Chika is simply... imaginative. When she was younger, she created a companion for her to talk to when all her siblings were being annoying to her. Her friend is nameless, but she dubbed him "Frame" for lack of something to call him. He takes the appearance of a big, three-dimensional diamond, with a huge, round eye in the center. She believes no one can see him, but sadly, the truth is that everyone can see him when she talks to him going "Shh, no one can see you! Don't talk to me in public!"
This creature, in truth, is simply an illusion created by Chika, subconsiously. Anything and everything Chika claims that Frame can do, is her own doing.
Illusion: Chika can create illusions. Nothing big, fancy or elaborate, but simple, intangible 'illusions' she can create. But of course, she does not acknowlege this ability. She does it subconsiously, and can't do it if the thought of the illusion is not in her head. Example, if she is not thinking of Frame, he will not appear, But as soon as she wishes Frame to be there, he is.
Her illusions are nothing so fancy as they can attack. She believes that Frame can attack, but that is only because Frame exists to shield her from the truth of her meta human parentage. They don't truly exist, but to Chika, she believes they do. She can touch Frame, hop on his back and ride him, and anything you could do with something tangible. To anyone else, Frame is basically an overhead projection sheet - they can't touch him, can't feel him - and thus people often label Chika as quite the nut. Well, a nut, or a meta human.
Flight: Chika has the ability to levitate, and fly. Within reason, she can't fly into space, or related nonsense, but she can stay in the air for a few hours at most, before she has to actually reacclimate to walking on the ground. However, much like her ability to create Frame, she does not acknowlege it for what it is. In lieu of actually acknowleging that she can float on her own, she claims that she can crawl onto Frame's back, and use the creature to fly.
Burst: Chika's only 'offensive' ability, and her 'signature' one. She can, in reality, create small spark showers that are colorful like fireworks - but only within a radius of about five feet from her person. They appear anywhere she wills them to, within that five feet. They're not very strong, of course, but can inflict sunspots and give tiny burns if looked at directly or touched. Of course, with this ability, she doesn't acknowlege that she's actually doing the sparking. She simply claims Frame can do it - by making sure he's within five feet of her when he 'attacks'. If he's further, it simply looks like Frame's abilities are failing him.
History Before Arrival: Chika was born in Japan, in the early 90's. She lived a normal life. Not exactly sheltered, but not exactly allowed to run freely when she was young. Chika's parents... feared for her, in the world they lived in. Especially in the 'world' they knew she was being forced into, just due to genetics. Her parents met and married young. In fact, Chika's mother, Aimi, was only 20 when she had her first child, Anzu. Their lives were happy as they lived them, having two more children, their first son, Hide, and then much later, Chika.
However... Aimi started rapidly developing meta-abilities, mere moments after Chika was born. Her umbilical cord could not be cut. Even with tools so sharp it could cleave a watermelon in half like butter. Under observation, it eventually dried up and fell off on it's own, but Chika's parents worried over the phenomenon. Upon further research(I.e., throwing Aimi off of swingsets and treehouses to see if she'd get hurt; lots of neighbors called the law on them), it was discovered that Aimi could not be injured. Furthermore, upon the attempted abortion of Chika's younger sister, Hiroko, anything -not- Aimi that was still attached to her could not be hurt, either. Genkei, Chika's father, called for a divorce out of pure fear of his wife; ironically, going to retrieve the papers, he ended up smashing a door. He fled the law offices and returned to his wife to apologize.
As the children grew, their parents told them of all the 'evils' of meta-humanity. None of the children really believed but Chika, taking her parents warnings seriously. If there was someone obviously 'meta' on the streets, she would avoid them. She was a good girl, and never suspected her parents of being metahumans.
Well, until she started to manifest her own powers. She'd wake up floating a foot off her bed, panicking when she realized it. That was until someone appeared. A rather large thing; a huge flying diamond. Chika was scared senseless by the 'meta' in her room, until he made himself known as her friend, and that he was there to help her down. She grabbed onto him for stability, and excited, she sat up on his back and flew down the stairs, eager to tell her parents. She hopped off of him and pointed and hollered saying, "Look at my new friend, Mommy! Look Daddy!"
They claimed not to be able to see him. That he was an imaginary friend. There was nothing wrong with having one, but she shouldn't talk to him around other people. She never talked to her 'imaginary friend' outside of being at home after that.
A while after, True Humanity took over America. Becoming followers, they confronted Chika, telling her that Frame was actually a meta human power of hers, and they proceeded to demonstrate their own powers. Frightening Chika, she blacked out. Upon coming to almost a week later, her parents tell her that they contacted St. Lily's, a new academy for True Humans, and they showed interest in her. Something about showing high potential, if she knew how to use it. Following her parents wishes, she suppressed her fears as well as she could and packed up to go to St. Lily's...
This all looks pretty good. However, I would like to see a little more in the appearance section. Also, in what way does she generate the sparks? Do they simply appear where she wills them to, or does she cast them from her hands?
