So Akira had only been at his new school for a couple of days. And by couple, it literally meant only two days. He had changed homes often, so he was use to not having many friends or people to talk to. It was a regular ritual for him. And so, he spent his time with one of his usual hobbies. Today's hobby was graffiti. Akira, despite his anger and hatred, was quite the artist. Graffiti was one of his man ways of expressing himself and he liked it. It was a forbidden art that he did not have to take credit for so that everyone could see it. It was late and a Saturday, there was bound to be plenty of people around that were more suspicious than he was.

And so, Akira, dressed in his more classic attire was busy tagging the wall in front of him with his own art. He wear a pair of baggy white sweatpants and a white hoodie that was stained all over with all different kinds and colors of paint. But it was in such a why that it was hard to tell if the clothing was designed like that or was caused by Akira's artistic adventures. His black sneakers seemed completely unfazed by the paint, much like the square goggles that covered his eyes. He wore his hood up, making easier to hide his identity if some one decided to stop him from doing what he was doing.

On the wall in front of him, in big crooked bubble letters was Akira's art. So far, it read "Soul of a." And now, Akira stood there, standing in front of it, trying to figure out how to finish what he had written. It needed something, but couldn't figure out just what. So until he figured it out, he stood there, in the alley looking at the canvas that was the wall and trying to think of what to put.

Gwen didn't leave the school much, for the simple reason that there wasn't much for her to do outside of school. However, she'd heard about a place near here that was having a humungous book sale. So much easier than having to go to the library and hope that they'd have the books she wanted to read.

However, there was a problem.

Gwen had gotten herself lost.

Yes, she had a map. The inner map that she possessed, along with the paper map in her hands, should have made it easy for her to find where she was going. But this place was confusing, and she hadn't been here before. Which meant that Gwen was lost. Not completely defenseless, mind, but still lost. She sighed. All she wanted to do was to go buy some books.

That was when she found herself walking by a half spraypainted wall and it's artist, who was likely trying to come up with the final word. With an inward groan, Gwen recognized who it was. However, the graffetti itself was nice, and she'd seen so many other graffitied buildings here that she knew nobody really cared. The color scheme interested her,, and she wanted to know what the last word would be. Like in a book, where the author hooks you onto the next page.

Whatever she said or did would be turned against her. So Gwen said nothing, just sat down against the wall on the other side and settled down to watch. She couldn't be blamed for doing nothing, right?

Akira's thoughts were disturbed as he heard the footsteps of another person. Despite the fact that it was late, it wasn't very busy or loud. And in the alleyway that Akira stood, sounds echoed around very easily. And so, once he heard the footsteps, he turned his head while leaning backwards a bit. At first, he could not tell who it was. All he saw was the shadowy figure of some one. But they were short, very much so, and so Akira figured the person was no threat to his work in progress.

However, as the person came closer, the figure revealed itself to be the little girl he had met in the lunchroom a few days back. Fate was definitely a cruel mistress for him to have run into her again so soon. At first, he didn't say anything. Hopefully the girl would walk passed him and not even recognize him. But once she stopped and sat down, looking at his work, he sighed inwardly. He looked back at the wall and stared at it a bit before speaking.

"Not going to rat me out little girl? I figured you for the goody-to-shoes type." He said, not turning to her as he spoke. He tapped one of his spray-paint cans with his foot, knocking it over. Lingering for a moment, he turned around completely, walking next to the girl. He turned again and sat down next to her on the ground. Both his knees were raised in the air and his arms resting on them as she slumped over. "I'm sure even a deceitful female could wonder what I should end it with. So what do you think?"

At least this meeting was going better than the last had. Gwen simply shrugged in response to the first statement. There wasn't any point in her turning him in for vadalism. It was all over this place anyway, and it wasn't like anyone cared anyways, not here. This district was always like this. Instead, she studied the graffiti with the eye of someone who enjoyed looking at art.

"I like it," she said at last. "The colors go nicely together, with the contrast of warms and cools."

And, indeed, it was excellent artwork. Not an artist herself, Gwen loved to watch people create works of art, whether with words or with paint. After another pause, she said, "I'd personally put something like 'bird' or 'wolf' for the last word."

She leaned back against the brick. "But it's not my art. It's yours. You should put what you want, not ask someone who you hate what opinion they have."

Akira looked over at his work as the girl spoke. He shrugged at her compliment and shook his head. "Don't expect to butter me up. But you do have an eye for art. I'll at least give you that." He said, standing up again. He listened to her speak some more as he walked up to his artwork and pace around it for a bit.

"Usually, I don't need to think about what to put next. I usually just do what I feel, but now I'm a bit confused." He said, putting a hand to his chin. Letting out a sigh, he looked back up at the graffiti. "You know, I was never a fan of animals. I was never as free as a bird or as fierce as a wolf. I'm quite the opposite, something no animal can claim." He started, speaking more to himself than to the girl.

"I'm a person that needs to claim what is mine. Something I have yet to do...ever." He said; smiling and picking up a couple of his spray-paint cans. He started to work, finishing up the end of what he started. It took him fifteen minutes or so to finish the whole thing, but once it was done, it read: Soul of a Claimer. Stepping back, he looked at it and smiled. Only he would know what exactly that meant. Of course, it didn't make too much sense at all, despite what he had just said, but soon, it would. Looking behind him, he had forgotten the girl was there. He wiped the smile from his face and tossed his cans into a nearby trashcan.

"I'm done here." He said coldly, walking toward the end of the alley and back out to the sidewalk. It was up to the girl whether or not she was going to stay there sitting as Akira could care less about what she decided to do. But he stopped at the end of the alley and looked back at the girl. "By the way... I'm still waiting for you to pay me back. I plan on collecting interest, so hurry or else you'll acquire a big debt." He said to her, actually staying to see what her response would be.

Drifting off, not really paying attention to voices, Gwen just watched as the boy finished off his painting, a feat that took him about fifteen minutes. The colors really were pretty, though in the rapidly darkening street, it could be difficult to tell what they were. When he finished, Gwen stretched her arms and stood up, stifling a yawn. She appraised the work, which now read 'Soul of a Claimer'. To her, it made absolutely no sense. However, she supposed that it must have some meaning to the boy.

He walked off, then stopped near the end of the allyway, where it opened up into the much wider and better lit street, and said something about interest. She just sort of stared at him in confusion for a few minutes, then remembered. Right. He said he didn't want the money. Gwen put her hand into her pocket and brought out a few rumpled bills.

She had to actually walk out to stand near to the boy in order to read what they said. Yup, a few ones, a couple of fives, and a ten. Book money. Taking out two quarters, and stuffed the other bills back into her hoodie pocket. The redhead looked at the money for a secon, then switched her gaze to look at the boy.

"Thought you didn't want my money," she replied dryly. "Changed your mind already?"

Gwen held out the crumpled mess of money. Normally she would have argued, but the last argument was still ringing in her ears. That, and it was getting dark. She'd rather save her energy for finding her way back to AHS then arguing about a stupid 2.50$.

Akira watched as the girl stood and walked over to where he was. He watched her quietly as she fumbled through her money to get out the change she needed to return to him. He took a moment to glance up and down the street they were now one. There were just people, no one too important or dangerous looking. Looking back at her, she began to speak again and then tried to hand him her money.

Shaking his head, he smirked. "You seem to misunderstand the situation. I did not want the money from back then because I did not agree with the way you handled the situation." He started, taking a step away from her. "However, I'll take this...." He said, taking the money from her. "As payment for eavesdropping on my hobby and the art show I provided you." He told her, nodding his head in the direction of the graffiti. He then turned away form her and thought for a moment before speaking again.

"But, to pay me back for your meal, take me to where ever you were headed. As much as I hate the company of a female, I don't know the town very well and I need a guide. It's going to be you...so get!" He said, waving her in front of him and crossing his arms over his chest. It would be interesting to see how a girl would feel when the situation was taken advantage of opposite to their favor like they tried to do to males all the time.

Gwen simply shrugged when he started to talk about the money. She really couldn't care less about what he thought of her tactics and way she dealt with others. However, when he pushed her in front of him and told her to guide him to where she was going, she laughed.

That's right, Gwen laughed.

It wasn't much of a laugh, and it ended as quickly as it started, but it was definetly a laugh. Gwen shook her head, not believing what she was hearing. So he wanted her to lead him to where she was going?

"Might have guessed you weren't listening," amusement was in Gwen's voice. "I told you, I got lost. So, if you'd like to wander around town with me and try to figure out where the bookshop is, then be my guest."

She took out her map and glared at it, walking away with her nose in the map. If the boy wanted to follow her, he would.

Akira eyed the girl as she was in front of him. He caught a hint of her very short and very subtle laughter. What was she laughing about? He didn't say anything funny and there wasn't anyone else around doing anything funny. But she was a girl and they seemed to laugh at the most...weird of times. Maybe her laughter was a celebration of getting him into some kind of trap. She was a conniving deceitful woman; Akira wouldn't put it passed her, no matter how little she looked. After she shook and started to walk, Akira followed her, his hands stuffed into the pockets of his hoodie.

"Don't get confused little girl. If you were only headed off to one place, it wouldn't be much of a tour. Wandering around will familiarize me with the area." He started, trying to excuse the fact that she had said she was lost before and didn't remember. "If you knew where you were going, it would be a short trip." He then looked at her with the map and cocked his head to the side a little. She had a map and was still lost? That was odd and amusing at the same time. "I assume you lack a sense of direction?" He questioned her, noting the fact that she had trouble despite having a map.

"Yep," Gwen replied absentmindedly, squinting at the map. What a joke on her. Able to tell where everything was within a hundered feet of her body, yet unable to find her way around. That was probably because she couldn't sense words, only objects, and while she could sense where several buildings were filled with books, she was looking for a specific one and didn't want to waste time by checking every store, as the store she wanted to visit would be closed by then, probably.

Of course, if she couldn't find it soon, it'd be closed anyway.

"Sign over here," Gwen muttered to herself, wandering down the street and staring at the map, skillfully sidestepping several passerby. Getting to the sign, she glanced up at it. The sign read Hula Drive. Gwen glanced back down at the map, then back up at the sign, then back down at the map again.

She could not find the street anywhere.

"I hate maps," she muttered. With a resigned sigh, the girl stuffed the map into her pocket. "I'm Gwen," she added to her companion, who had yet to reveal his name.

Akira raised a brow as the girl walked and stared at her map. He still could not understand how she could be lost with a map in her head. Looking over her shoulder, he peeked at it. He was not too sure where she was trying to go, but after a few peeks and a glance around, Akira already had a good feeling of where he was at. Was it really that difficult for the girl? He sighed, hearing her mention something about a sign for the road, Hula Drive. He blinked; still amazed by the fact that she could not find the right place. Then, as she put the map away, he stopped walking to face her when she turned to face him.

"I didn't ask your name little girl." He said rudely and coldly, looking up a bit. He paused for a moment and then signed. Knowing women and how they liked to hold a grudge, he figured it be better not to be completely rude to her. After all, he was following her out of his own free will. Her lack of direction skill was very amusing, yet confusing.

But it did provide him with entertainment. "My name is Akira." He said, turning away from her afterwards. "And what's the name of the place you are looking for....Gwen. A tour is boring if we just go around in circles."

"Well, I gave it," Gwen retrted at his first rude comment. When recieving his name in return she nodded, committing the name to memory. Likelyhood of him forgetting her name was probably high; all that she had seen of him so far was that he hated her, for whatever reason. Not something she understood, seeing as how she hadn't done anything, but people were strange and she was not one to question that.

"Um..." Gwen thought for a second. What with everything that had just happened, the name had flown out of her mind. "Yumashira Books," she remembered.

The girl eyed Akira, unsure as to how he would respond. She oculd tell that he thought her lack of direction amusing. It was written all over his face. So, Gwen decided to set things straight in the nicest way possible.

"I can't sense words," she informed him. "Just objects. And people," she added as an afterthought. AS soon as she said that, she was aware of a group of people headed directly towards them, if they stayed on the path that they were taking now. She could sense guns and knives on them.

"Speaking of which," she tried to keep her voice steady and calm, and thought she did pretty well, "there's a group coming our way." She twitched her hand north-east to show the direction. "And I don't think they're friendly, unless you know of a group of people that wander around together all with loaded guns."

Akira nodded a she spoke about the name of the store. He smiled to himself. He had seen the place on his way to the alley where he was showing off his art. He knew where it was at and it wasn't exactly a hidden place. In fact, if they just wait down two blocks and made a left, it would be the third store. Akira tended to remember places easily. He had spent a lot of time alone and without anyone else to depend on and so, remember where things were was something that was important, especially when it came to survival. However, his thoughts were broken when the girl mentioned something about her being able to sense things.

He looked at her and nodded a bit. "So you can sense things. That would explain why you are at the school. My sister had an ability too, but I never figured out what it was. Though, I'm not to sure if I have anything like that." He mentioned, giving a bit of brief insight to prevent her from asking anymore questions. He decided to keep the fact that he knew where the store was to himself. Then, when she made mention of a group that was apparently not going to be friendly, he looked at her and shook his head.

"Well, if you if expect me to be some kind of knight, I suggest you think again, Little Gwen. If you don't want to bother with some people, maybe you should get out of their way because I'm not going to save you." He said to her, making himself clear to make sure that she didn't expect kindness from him. He knew how women expected to have some kind of knight in shining armor appear for them whenever they were in trouble. But the world didn't work that way, especially in his world.

"Knight?" Gwen raised an eyebrow. "I don't live in fairy tale land like some other idiots do. I just thought I'd let you know so that you don't get yourself killed, since you obviously wouldn't react well to me pushing you into a random store."

The girl glanced around, and, seeing that in one store (an antique store, to be precise) was lit, walked over to the door, uncomfortably aware of the nearness of the gang. She tested the door. It was locked. Gwen hit her head against the door in frustration, though lightly, she didn't want a pounding headache later.

Gwen's eyes traveled up the length of the building. Gutter pipes, a windowsill, and a hook for the swinging sign. Yes, this was indeed an antique store.

"How well can you climb?" she asked, voice quiet as she placed one hand on the door handle and prepared to jump.

Akira smirked at the girl as she spoke. "Good." He said briefly, glad he would not have to hear any of her mouth about complaints on how he should be a gentleman and protect her. Chivalry was dead after all. Watching her walk up to the store and test the door, he sighed as she found it to be locked. They must have just closed to have their lights on but door locked. That did present a problem, but not one that was much of a hassle. Teenagers weren't exactly mugging material and gangs usually didn't bother pointless people without a good reason. However, it was a different story for the girl. Just the fact that she was a girl was enough for the people to bother her.

But for Akira, there was no threat. But she was his tour guide for the moment and if the tour led to the top of a building like she suggested, than so be it. As she asked him about his climbing ability, he walked to the side of the building and shrugged.

"Better than your sense of direction." He said with a smile as reached up for a copper pipe that would be then first step into climbing the wall. As she put his weight on it, the old pipe broke, revealing that it was no longer in use and was weak. Stumbling to the ground, he held the pipe in his hands and sighed. "Dammit..." He muttered, glancing at the girl. Looked up again and got a little upset, throwing the pipe at the wall. However, while it was in his hand, the pipe had changed. It had become a spike and when he threw it, it stuck into the wall.

Akira blinked, confused a bit on how exactly that happened. However, the problem had fixed itself and he wasn't going to complain. "There you go Little Gwen. Since you're so scared of these people, you can go ahead. I’ll follow."

"I know. Lousy sense of direction," Gwen pushed down on the handle, and, finding that it was strong, swiftly pushed herself up onto it in a jump and flipped up onto the windowsill. She had noticed the metal pipe break, and had wisely decided to leave that out of her climb. Dumb she was not. Gwen had also noticed the pipe change into a spike as soon as it left Akira's hand. So, he could manipulate metal? Perhaps he hadn't known about it.

"I, for one, am scared from guns," she informed him. "And gangs. Most people are, you know."

The girl judged the distance and leapt over to the gutter pipe. A risky move, as it was rusty and old, but being small and slender did have its advantages. The pipe luckily withstood her weight, and she scurried up, flipping herslef up onto the roof. Peering over the edge, fear lodged in her heart, as the gang was far to close for comfort now, she held out her hand.

"Come on," she looked down at Akira.

Akira watched as the girl climbed up the side of the building. He followed with his own path that he had made. Grasping the pipe turned spike, he lifted himself up to another window that was different from the one Gwen had used. He lifted himself up and stood up straight to reach for the gutter. Of course, he was too heavy for it. And so, he would rest his weight on the window and use the leverage to push himself up and reaching for the more secure roof edge. Using it, he pulled himself up to the top and climbed over to the top of the roof.

Standing up, he stretched and looked over the edge of the building. Shaking his head, he looked over at Gwen and sighed. "Of course you are. You're only a girl after all." He said to her coldly. His words had more thought to them than he actually presented, but because of his hate for women, his voice did not show it. As she urged him to come on, he looked at her.

"Yeah, because they are so going to climb up after us for no reason and shoot us for existing." He remarked, walking along behind the girl with his hands in the belly pocket of his hoodie. "You act like they are savage beast with nothing to do but hurt people for no reason." He said, rolling his neck a little bit.

"They are," Gwen replied, following. The tops of the roofs was a world completely different than the one of the streets -- and one that she could navigate fairly well. Hopping over a skylight, she continued, "I had a friend last year. Only friend I ever had in that place. We were walking in town and..." she shivered. "...This gang came. They killed her in front of me. I only got away because the police showed up before they were able to shoot."

The girl sighed and jumped over onto another rooftop. "So, yeah, I think they're savages. I think they'll follow us up here."

This story brought another point to Gwen's mind. She was fairly good at reading people, and Akira was no exception. She could hear the hatred in his voice, see it in the way he acted.

"So, what happened to you?" she wanted to know.

Akira eyed the girl as she spoke about a friend and how she was because of a gang. Akira somewhat understood how she felt. He too had lost some one very close to him. It was the only person he truly loved and she was taken away from him. However, he would not show the girl any comfort. Women were still despicable to him and he believed they deserved to be miserable.

And so, he just shook his head. "And...That is what you fear now?" He said, smirking a bit. It was a trauma that led her to fear, just as Akira's trauma led him to hate. They were similar, but not enough for Akira to consider the girl as a good person. She could still be one of the many corrupt male using females that existed in this world, but he did hate her a little less. "My past isn't one you should go digging into. Women tend to use every little ounce of information they get against the person that they give it to." He told her, walking along the roof with the girl.

"However, Little Gwen. I will tell you this. Women are responsible for all the shit that has happened to me. They are untrustworthy, deceptive abusers that use all in their power to get ahead of others for the most selfish of reasons. That's what happened to me....and my sister." He said, pausing for a moment. "My sister that's no longer among the living. So if you are done, let's get to this book store." He said pointing ahead of the girl. "It's two blocks in that direction." He directed her, revealing the fact that he knew where the bookstore was.

((Sorry for the late post!))

Gwen wasn't entirely sure how to respond to any of what he had said. Most of it was pretty much bad-mouthing women, but the last part showed that he knew where the store was and the first part revealed that he had a very bad past. "Um..."

She settled on ignoring most of what he said, pushing it away to deal with later, guessing that he wouldn't take kindly to prying, and set off in the direction of the store. Though, she realized, it was likely closed now. Ah, well. She had met someone interesting. That had to count for something, right? She didn't count the first meeting. They hadn't really talked.

"Why'd you get into graffitti?" she asked, figuring that that should be a fairly harmless question.

(ooc) Its okay, we were all busy for the holidays

Akira eyed the girl, watching her reaction with a smirk. She had gotten the idea, or at least what he wanted her to understand. He didn't hate women just because; there was a reason and a good one at that. He started to walk on to the opposite edge of the roof, his mind still poking about why the pole had changed the way it did. But it only took a few moments for the girl to change the subject in an effort to continue to conversation. It was just proof that she was feeling uncomfortable about the whole ordeal.

"I like art." He started, stopping and turning around to face her. "Everyone is allowed to have their hobbies right? When my sister and I had to live out on the streets, graffiti was easy and free for the most part. It was my pastime and it stuck, it's as simple as that." He told her, yawning a bit afterwards. "What about you? Is kicking ass your hobby or do you just practice it to scare off the big bad gang members?"

Uncomfortable wasn't exactly the word. She didn't want to pry, but at the same time, she didn't want to walk in silence. The graffitti question was the first thing that popped into her mind.

"Yup," Gwen agreed to his statement about hobbies. She had quite a few hobbies herself. Hers just weren't really obvious ones. Take her vegetarianism for example. That was something people rarely noticed. It wasn't obvious. On the other hand, her gymnastics and karate were, if someone happened to see her practicing, very obvious.

"Not exactly," she replied. "Karate started out as a way for me to defend myself. I liked it and just kept on going with it. Same way with gymnastics."

Gwen stopped talking. She never talked this much to people. Ever. There was just something about him that made her feel as if it was okay to talk. Ah, well.

Akira looked at her and nodded. "I guess that's reasonable. When you find something you like, it sticks doesn't it?" She said to her, walking on and finally reaching the other edge of the roof.

Standing on the edge, he glanced back at her before making his descent. "Though, it's too bad your hobbies couldn't help your size. You are very intimidating, just really cute. It's actually pretty funny." Akira responded with a smirk. For once his smile had no ill intent behind it and was a genuine smile. And with that, and without even realize that he had actually showed a bit of his nice side toward the girl, he began to climb down the other side of the building. This was much easier. It had a makeshift ladder of sorts that lead to the alley and back out to the sidewalk. It was the kind of ladder that was just metal bars pounded into the side of the building.

Reaching the bottom, he leaned up against the wall and wait for the girl with his arms crossed. "But you should make a hobby out of something that'll help you with your sense of direction. All the ass kicking in the world isn't going to help you when you are alone and lost."

"Stick it does," Gwen agreed. She peered down the wall, noting the ladder as well as the height of the building. Fairly low, only about as high as the dorm building's first floor, it would have been fairly easy to jump and land. However, dusk was rapidly sinking into night and the ground was hard. She wasn't about to risk a twisted or broken ankle.

Interrupted in her contemplation of the scene by Akira, she turned to look at him and was surprised to see him smiling, what looked to be the first real smile she'd seen him use. In response to his comment, she raised one eyebrow. "I don't think I've ever heard myself described as 'intimidating, yet cute' before. Usually the words 'shrimpy and weird' are used."

She waited for Akira to reach the bottom, then started down the ladder herself. Gwen waited until both of her feet were on the ground before she answered Akira's comment. "I know. Unfortunetly, unless I want to take up map writing or something similar and equally dull, I'm out of luck."

Once the girl was on the ground, he looked to her, his smile gone and the usual unhappy non-caring face painted back on. He slipped his hands into the pockets of his paint smeared white hoodie and sighed a little after she had spoken.

"Don't let it go to your head little girl. Just like you can insult some one by accident, you can do the same with compliments. Got that?" He said to her, raising his head a bit in an act of dominance and to hide that fact that he had genuinely complimented her. He walked to the edge of the alley, glancing out to make sure that no one from the gang she was so afraid of was around to bother her. Glancing back, he nodded his head to pass on the fact that the way was clear.

"Well, there isn't always going to be some one around to help you out. So I suggest you figure something out or trick some guy into dating you that does have a good sense of direction. That's how women are right? They try to find things they can use out of a male to pick if they really like them or not." He added distastefully. Even amongst his unintentional comments and words, he still hated women in the deepest part of his heart. He would always speak in a way that it would clear any suspicions of him thinking otherwise.

She shrugged at the first comment. "Understood," was her answer. In all honesty, she should have expected him to say something like that. Akira didn't seem like the sort of person who handed out compliments like candies.

The second comment probably should have stung her pride, but she knew about her lousy sense of direction, and so took no offense whatsoever. The jibe about women she shrugged off too. Gwen wasn't the sort of person who allowed insults to get to her, and as far as she was concerned, it didn't really matter. Besides, she had expected something like that coming from him. "If I thought someone was always going to be around to help me, I'd be dead by now," she informed him.

(ooc) I keep forgetting about this topic...-_- sry...>.>

Akira glared back at the girl and shrugged. "Then maybe Death is idling watching you, waiting for some one else to do the work for him. The hardest headed person can only learn their lessons through death instead of life. So expect to lose important people if you continue to think that way." He said, looking back out onto the street.

He started to move in the direction he remembered the shop being in and walked, not even bothering to see if the girl was keeping pace with his strides. "By the way, we are almost there, so I'll finally be able to get rid of you." He said to, completely ignoring the fact that he was the one that came with her, not the other way around. "And don't expect free help from me next time you decide to eavesdrop on my hobbies."

(That's ok, I haven't been very active either. Also, sorry about the shortness and the blah-ness of this post. I don't feel well.)

"That wasn't what I -- never mind," Gwen gave up on trying to explain what she meant. All she had meant was that she didn't expect help around every corner and that if she had she'd've gotten herself into serious trouble by now. That didn't mean that she didn't accept help ever.

"I'd've been able to find my way back to AHS," she replied. "It's hard to miss a giant school building and the masses of people that go there."

Gwen chose to ignore the fact that Akira had implied that she had tagged along with him instead of the other way around. As for the free help, well, it was just a bookshop. As she had said, it would have been easy for her to find AHS.

Akira gave a simple hmph to the girl's ramblings as they walked on. It was only a few moments before they had reached her destination and had finally arrived. He stopped, sighing a bit and leaning up against the side of the glass that windowed the store. Pointing at it with his thumb, he closed his eyes and gave a smug expression.

"Well here you go little girl. And you should know that it's not my concern whether you can get back or not. Women have their own methods of getting men to do things for them and I'm sure you'll just use one of those despite the fact that you say you don't go around asking for help." He then stood up, sliding his hands into his pockets and began to walk back into the night.

But after a few steps, he turned back to her and spoke. "And don't think you've weaseled your way out of paying me back yet. I'm still tagging interest."

"I love how I can be both a little girl and a woman in the same conversation," Gwen commented lightly. "It's very... contradictory."

Gwen glanced inside the store window. To her relief, it was lit, the neon green 'Open' sign was glowing, and she could see a few people milling about the stacks of books inside the shop. The short girl put her hand on the handle of the door and was about to open it, enter the shop and get some quality books, but she stopped. The reason for this was two-fold: Akira had just said something she disagreed with, and she had nearly forgotten to thank him for leading her to the shop, which, she realized, would only reinforce the opinion he had of her that she was a manipulative 'woman'.

Not that she truly cared, but still. Better to set the records straight.

"I didn't weasel my way out of anything, Akira," she reminded him, turning to face him. "I paid my debt. You decided to believe it was for seeing paint being sprayed on the side of a wall. And I think you'll find that I gave you your interest."

Turning back to the door, Gwen pushed it open, causing the little bells to jangle invitingly. She stepped halfway in, stopped, then called back, "Thanks. I appreciate the help."

It was a genuine thanks, though Gwen wasn't sure Akira would take it that way. With that said, she stepped inside the bookshop, let the door close softly behind her, and slipped in between two rows of bookshelves, peering at the titles.
