Granted, he felt mostly awake but was still caught off guard by Oli's sudden decision to take them outside. He kinda wanted to hear Vincent's opinion first and make sure everyone was alright but his own views were quickly subverted the second he tried to vocalise them "Maybeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!" Being grabbed and dragged through a gaping hole in a helicopter was not his idea of a great time. He felt a wang as his leg dented what was left of the side on the exit, that was going to hurt once he slowed down enough to work out what had happened. He finally stopped and stated his reasons slightly more aptly, which was roughly what Carniku had been thinking too as he got his feet back on the ground "Yeah, OK, but I can walk mysel-" Oli was running again and dragging him once more, even if he wasn't making much noise, Carniku was as his feet pounded the deep snow trying to keep his balance and pace with the vampire. He was having a hard time keeping pace and, most importantly, keeping an eye out for Land-Mines (which would be EASY to conceal in the snow and why he didn't want to be running). Finally Oli stopped and Carniku was released. Unfortunately, his weight meant he continued moving and somersaulted ungraciously into a thick snow drift sinking so far into it he was almost invisible while Oli tried to talk to Kaneda to find out where he was. He emerged with a thick cloud of frozen water perched on his head and a scowl on his face as he announced, quite angrily "He's wearing a freaking walkie talkie!! I meant call him and see how he is before running out into the cold! Geez man..." Carniku sneezed heartily as he swept large chunks of snow off of his coat, well, looks like their plan had gone to hell again. He fumbled for a walkie talkie before finding out he didn't have one. Great... "OK, lemme think for a second... they downed us, it was quite well targetted... Meta-Weapon Research... Awwwwww, SHIT!" Carniku dropped his weight into a fighting stance as an unfortunate realisation occured to him. Whatever had downed the chopper didn't seem like a conventional weapon, next conclusion Meta Weapon. It made sense, why would they just use robots and standard weaponary if they were experimenting on Metas and developing new weapons, hell, he didn't even know what it would LOOK like. He wasn't thrilled with this realisation. He tried to stand back to back with Oli so they couldn't be tagged in a blind spot... this was pretty bad. |

Jarreth really had no idea of what was going on at this point, someone else had started talking, probably too him however by this time the ringing in his ears had become so loud that every sound made by this person was an inaudible drone. Whoever it was just blurred into a mess of colours in front of him, the sight made his stomach rise to his mouth forcing Jarreth to close his mouth and eyes in order to prevent himself throwing up. This was a mistake, though he was too injured to realise it. By closing his mouth tightly he prevented his breathing, the resulting lack of oxygen caused by this starved his brain and began sending him into a second concussion. The world seemed to float away from him, it felt as if he were sinking far underneath the ground while at the same time staying perfectly still, much like the feeling one would get when they know they are drifting to sleep. Suddenly however a bright light shone directly into Jarreth’s eyes, blinding him and knocking him out of this daze. It was far too bright, painfully bright, but at the same time soothing. Little by little the pain he felt in his head seemed to drift away, so gradually that he didn’t even notice it go. His grasp upon his surroundings slowly returned afterwards, soon enough he remembered the fact that they had been in a crash, although the memory of the crash taking place as well as the events leading up to the crash were still irreplaceably missing. Yes that was it, they had been in a crash and the most likely situation being that they had been shot down as the snow hadn’t been strong enough to warrant an accidental crash landing. “..you hold any injuries?" Hold on, Jarreth had understood that. Slowly his eyes opened to look upwards at a second girl, a cut across her forehead like his own. Had she been the one who had done this? All suspicions pointed towards yes. Little by little a very small slither of a smile crossed Jarreth’s thin lips, which was unnatural for him, as he very rarely smiled. Jarreth had a social disorder that prevented him from having a natural ability to understand emotions, or even display his own, but right now he generally felt a little relieved. “I feel a bit better.” He replied, “Thank you, both of you.” His head still hurt with a throbbing headache, he felt nauseous, a little dizzy, and his vision was a tiny bit blurred, however he did generally feel better than a few moments ago. It was definitely good that he didn’t feel as if he was about to pass out at any moment anymore, and the situation Jarreth was in now made sense to him, so obviously he was thinking clearly again, or at least clearer than before. This clarity however came with its disadvantages, for as soon as Jarreth understood his situation a million different inner thoughts entered his head, telling him of what was being done incorrectly and what should be done which was not. It almost made Jarreth miss his little vacation of unconsciousness. However, upon opening his eyes he began to make out the roof of the helicopter, or was that the floor above him? Either way, it was a bad sign. Jarreth specialised in tactical decisions and stealth, and right now there was a glaring flaw in their tactical position, his injury be damned. Even though he really didn’t advice moving Jarreth reached up to grab his headset, pulling it towards his mouth so he could speak into it. “Everyone in the vicinity of the crash sight listen to me. Regardless of how we crashed the enemy is definitely certain to close in on the wreckage to check for survivors.” He spoke as clearly as he could, his smile returning to his normal cold emotionless gaze once more, “We have to move. Right now.” Suddenly Jarreth tried to sit up however his muscles felt so weak, his head hurt so much, and his stomach felt as if it was about to drop out of his mouth at any second. The girl had only removed his physical injuries, the effects of the concussion he still needed to rest off. Unfortunately Jarreth only made it a few inches off of the ground before falling flat on his back, the world seemed to blur and darken a little around him for a few seconds before finally returning to normal once more. This was bad. Quickly thinking of an option Jarreth turned his attention to the two girls either side of him. “I can’t stand upright, I need to keep laying down and I must stay awake for at least half an hour otherwise I‘ll succumb to a second concussion, a normally fatal occurrence.” He stated as clearly as he possibly could, his mind, although foggy due to the concussion began to work on a solution to this problem. Jarreth didn’t proudly own his high IQ for no reason and soon a solution entered his mind. His attention turned to Raiya. “Didn’t you have a dog sledge?” He asked, though his voice still didn’t seem to display any emotion behind his words, despite the circumstances, “I can’t remember your name I am sorry.” It was true, Jarreth knew a little about basic medicine, enough to understand the symptoms he was suffering now that his mind was cleared up slightly. Talking and ordering people around was his way of staying awake. Edited by A Hatted Man, Mar 8 2009, 01:29 PM.

Kaneda threw off his headset, because he new something was about to come thru it. He looked at it, expecting a rabbit or a dragon or something to come out and eat him. he decided to forget about it until something happened, and turned back to his vigil when Oliver and Carniku came out. Niku was in alot of pain, but he said he could handle himself. Kaneda believed him. Then Niku made him realise something that Kaneda should have thought of. A Meta weapon might have kocked their 'limo' fromt he sky. Niku toook up a fighting stance, and instinctivly, Kaneda raised his weapon and scanned the horizon. 'You see something??? Where is it???' |

Alex was able to tell the moment the headset hit the ground that he was clear. He quickly began to pull himself out of the virtual world of the headset into the real world outside. Once he was fully emerged from the headset, he picked it up and held it out for Kaneda to take back. "Anyone else out of the helicopter yet?" he asked as he looked at the small group in front of him. When they didn't answer, he put the headset into Kaneda's hand and headed back to the helicopter to see if he could help, and possibly find his own headset. Alex found the opening and climbed through to see how everyone else was. Half the group was around vincent and the other half was around Jarreth. "You guys may want to get out here," he said to the group inside, "Everyone outside keeps looking toward the horizon. I think we're in for some company soon." With that, Alex melded into the helicopter just enough to open a new doorway allowing everyone an easier way out of the helicopter. |

{OOC: I'm changing Gemini and Shiro's font color; light blue for Gemini, dark blue for Shiro} >>"I'm fine. Just a few bruises and maybe one or two scratches."<< Gemini nodded her head, glad to see the woman was alright. Quite frankly, she wasn't certain if she would be of much use if she used up all of her spiritual energy healing everyone around her. >>"Are you okay? I remember you saying you take the injuries you heal onto yourself. Healing Jarreth didn't cause any bruising in your brain or anything, did it? Normal vision and hearing? No headaches?"<< "Your concern is well placed, but I am alright," Gemini spoke softly. "My spiritual energy replenishes itself; thus, you could say that my injuries heal faster... but that is only the injuries that I take on through healing; normal injuries on my person, I cannot heal." >>“I feel a bit better. Thank you, both of you.”<< Gemini turned her head to the man laying on the floor and nodded her head once again. She was glad that she was able to help, even if it wasn't by all that much. The man then grabbed the communications device and alerted the group as a whole. >>“Everyone in the vicinity of the crash sight listen to me. Regardless of how we crashed the enemy is definitely certain to close in on the wreckage to check for survivors. We have to move. Right now.”<< "It would be a wise decision," Gemini agreed. They had been shot down, so there was no telling where the enemy lurked, but the only certainty they did have was that their presence was known. When the man attempted to sit up, Gemini feared that, with her healing holding such a heavy limitation, the man would not be able to so hastily recover. Her fears were confirmed when she studied his movements and expression. He didn't make it that far up before collapsing back down to the floor. >>“I can’t stand upright, I need to keep laying down and I must stay awake for at least half an hour otherwise I‘ll succumb to a second concussion, a normally fatal occurrence. Didn’t you have a dog sledge? I can’t remember your name I am sorry.”<< Gemini turned toward the back of the helicopter where the dogs had been caged. She hadn't even thought about the mutts, and feared that they too may have been greeted with heavy injuries. >>"You guys may want to get out here. Everyone outside keeps looking toward the horizon. I think we're in for some company soon."<< Gemini's attention turned toward Alex, if she remembered the name correctly. It would be wise for them to leave, but if they were too hasty, they could end up walking right into a trap. "We should retreat for now," Gemini suggested, despite her other half now screaming at her for making the statement. "We have injured, and we seem to be in disarray. We should find a place to regroup and plan our next move before they come to the crash site." Quite frankly, retreating may not even be an option at this point... Kaneda heard the transmission, and he responded. He strapped the mike back to his throat and touched the activators. 'I agree. We need to move... Wait...' Then he heard it. There was something moving around out in the ice. Something huge, and mechanical. 'I got contact! Several hundred meters out! I'm betting it's one of those mechas!' Then came more sounds. Shouts, more machines. 'Oh Christ, they're all around us! All personnel, stay in the chopper, repeat, STAY IN THE CHOPPER. It's the only thing we have with some kind of protection.' Just as he said that, a soldier breasted the snowdrift, and would have run past Kaneda if he hadn't have grabbed the man by the tghroat, and sent one of his blood blades into his throat, and his side at the same time. the man gurgled, and slumped over, his blood freezing as soon as it hit the ground. 'ALL UNITS, CONTACT!!' KAneda shouted as he ran back towards the downed Chinook. |

~Kaneda Dangit. I run this topic don't bring in soldiers without asking me. I hate to sound like a control freak, but you just brought in mechas and soldiers without even running the idea by me! I would cancel your post out, but its already been posted so... This is your only warning.~ It wasn't a onslaught of Mecha, just three. To make matters worse the 'soldier' that Kaneda had just killed so violently turned out to be the gunner from the helicopter. Well wasn't that just dandy? "Well isn't this magical?" The dubbed leader Vincent grunted out as he pushed his way out of the hole. He looked to the horizon only to see three rather large figures that were shrouded in shadows. "Meta signatures detected!" A voice yelled out. "It musta been that downed bird. Move to the proper locations and close em in." The third Mecha whirred to life as gears moved into place forcing the big machine to move forward. "Trinko 3 What's wrong?!?" The third mecha pilot cried out "SOMETHINGS IN THE SYSTEM! I CAN'T CONTROL IT!" In the cockpit a figure had formed on the H.U.D it raised its hand into a peace sign and blurted out "Have a nice day soldier boy!" The thermal breaker unit snapped and soon enough the soldier had frozen. Ghost now had control over the mecha. The battle was soon to begin. ~Nobody take down a mecha without my permission.~ |

Alex pulled out of the helicopter as he heard Kaneda call out. Vincent had already gotten himself out of the wrecked helicopter and was preparing to battle. Three mechas were on there way toward them and Kaneda had taken out the gunner from the helicopter. "Hmm, I wonder," Alex said to himself as he surveyed the wreck of the helicopter, "Maybe it's still here." Alex climbed back into the helicopter and searched around. Time was short, and if he was to have any chance against the mechas, he would need something he could use. Finally, Alex found the item he was looking for and quickly melded his hand with it. Emerging from the wrecked helicopter, Alex faced the oncoming mechas, wielding a large machine gun on his right arm. "Now, I'm ready for them to come," he said as he walked up and stood beside the others that had made it outside. He watched as one of the mechas suddennly moved out of control and broke formation. "Hmm, I wonder if Ghost has anything to do with that," he said to himself as he watched, "Or maybe the pilot just really wants some action. Either way, he's totally screwed." With that thought in mind, Alex brought up his weapon and made sure it was ready for the upcoming action. |

When Gemini answered her question, Raiya felt some relief. "Your concern is well placed, but I am alright. My spiritual energy replenishes itself; thus, you could say that my injuries heal faster... but that is only the injuries that I take on through healing; normal injuries on my person, I cannot heal." Nodding, she turned her attention back to Jarreth. He did look better. His eyes were no longer unfocused. She just hoped he was out of danger. Her medical experience only went so far. Unlike a doctor o a real nurse, she didn't have a good chance of saving someone with a severe concussion. Gemini's power had been a godsend. When she heard what Jarreth said into the two way, she felt a chill. She hadn't even thought about the posibility of enemies coming for them. Rather dumb, considering the fact that they'd been shot down. But in her defence, she had had other things to concentrate on. Seeing Jarreth try to sit up, she made a move to stop him, but he dropped back down before she could touch him. It seemed Gemini's healing hadn't completely dealt with all his injuries. “I can’t stand upright, I need to keep laying down and I must stay awake for at least half an hour otherwise I‘ll succumb to a second concussion, a normally fatal occurrence. Didn’t you have a dog sledge? I can’t remember your name I am sorry.” Raiya nodded. "You're right. The dog sled will be a good choice for moving you, and anyone else who can't move far under their own steam. Gemini, if you'll keep an eye on him, I'll go get the sled ready. Oh, and Jarreth, my name's Raiya." Giving the two of them a smile, she packed up her kit and headed for the back of the chopper. Her body went tense when she heard Kaneda's report, but she kept moving. Weither or not they were under attack, she needed to get the dogs out of the travel cages. If the chopper did fall under attack, she wouldn't leave the dogs trapped like they were. Taipar and the sled dog that had gotten free were waiting there for her. Giving each a rub, she then started opened the cages one by one. Barking excitedly, the milled around her as she let them out. Finally, she was surrounded by all twelve, including Taipar. She'd asked for extra dogs just incase. It seemed now that she'd been right. If need be, they would be able to pull the whole team all day if need be. Reaching into the leather bag attached to her belt, she gave each of them a peice of cheese. "Good dogs. You guys ready to work?" That was answered by more barking. Smiling, gave each of them a pat. "That's my guys." Telling the to sit and stay, she wet to check out the sled. Because it had been packed tight behind the travel cages, it had made it through the crash unharmed. Fetching the dogs' harneses from it and began settling up the dogs. When the team left, the dogs would be ready. Now all she needed to know was how many people they'd need to pull. If need be, she'd have the team make something out of part of the chopper so that everyone could get away quick. |

Carniku had to sigh... he should have kept his mouth shut. By pointing it out to people, everyone suddenly had the same thought and by the rule of bitch-slap, it then immediately came true. If he'd just said "The helicopter must have been an accident, there was no WAY it was caused by something" it would have been fine. He didn't think these Mecha even had something to DO with the base they were going towards... odds were probably good it was just some random training exercise who thought they were an invading force of "The Thing"... God Damn you John Carpenter... So, now they had a dead guy thanks to Kaneda, three robots (two if you counted the one that seemed to be having a fit) and a couple of mostly wounded Metas. This was great.... Vincent was right, this situation was so far from ideal it wasn't even funny. Mkay, Mechs... did it work on metal? He had no idea but now seemed as good of a time as any to find out. He adjusted his footwork and focused on his right hand... he hadn't done this for ages, so he'd have to hope and pray he could still do it without fully getting involved, he didn't know if he could activate and de-activate multiple times in one day. There was a crackle of blue between his thumb and ring-finger. He grinned as another arc snapped between two more fingers. His palm started to glow the same colour as his eyes and with a roll of his entire body, Carniku lunged forward and unleashed a bolt of blue plasma, his Epsilon Energy, at the Mechs. The good side was, the worst he could do was nothing, nothing but him could channel or absorb the energy, but that didn't mean it'd damage the Mech. Best case scenario, a leg explodes. Worst case he chips the paintwork. Either way, it'd give one of the others a chance to move. He didn't want to use his REAL power until absolutely neccessary, just in case things got hairy later on. "Mkay, if you got a plan Vince, now'd be the time to tell us!" Carniku shouted, less concerned about being discovered now. Edited by Carniku, Mar 12 2009, 09:07 AM.

“Trinko Three! Your Bio-Signs have disengaged!!! COME IN TRINKO THREE!” A voice blared out over the speaker system. Shriker One (the leader of the unit) sighed and faced Trinko Two. “It’s no use he’s probably dead…” Trinko Two turned the mecha abruptly. “WHADDA YA MEAN DEAD?!? His Mecha’s moving for PEEPS sake.” Shriker One turned back toward Trinko Three and bared his gun at the renegade mecha. A quick pull of the trigger and the massive Mech exploded with dazzling display of blue flames. “SHRIKER! YOU MURDERER!!!” Shriker faced the second Mech and slouched down. “Meta-Humans no doubt…. Why didn’t Blank inform us? He HAD to know about it!” Trinko Two turned and lifted his gun as well. “Well no doubt he’s lax in checking up on radar… Luckily that T.S.A.M Site was on auto target.” Shriker was alerted at the presence of a brandished firearm, but calmed down when he realized that Trinko Two had accepted his partners fate and was ALREADY on friendly terms with the Captain of the three-man squad. “Anyway back to the bird… We need to check for survivors if there are any.” ~Zrarrrrrrrrmmm~ A small fleet of about five snow-mobiles pulled up. One of the soldiers on board jumped off; which wasn’t an easy task due to the heavy clothes they wore for protection against the cold air. “Saw the explosion from a distant… We did a quick neural scan; and surprise surprise, These guys are Meta-Humans!” Shriker One nodded and turned back to the downed bird. “MEN MOVE OUT!” The engines of the Snow Vehicles revved up and zoomed toward the target armed with fully automatic rifles. “I told you Meta-Humans.” Shriker said as he began the pace forth. Trinko Two brought the gun to his prone position and aimed it toward the bird. “Just in case”, a fwoop noise emitted from the gun and a large rocket propelled from the gun and straight beside the helicopter causing an eruption of snow and ice to rain upon the helicopter. Shriker grinned at the beginning assault. The infantry landed just short of the bird and disengaged from the Snow-Mobiles. The leader willingly ordering an Open Fire! On the survivors. |

Alex watched as one of the mechas fired on and destroyed the mecha that had gone berserk. "One down, two to go," he thought as he watched the mecha being destroyed. Suddennly, a group of men on snowmobiles pulled up in front of the mechas and then proceeded to advance on them. Several yards away from the helicopter, the men dismouted from the snowmobiles and aimed at the group of metas standing outside the helicopter. "Open fire!" was the last thing Alex heard before all hell broke lose once again. Alex quickly dropped to the ground and brought his gun-arm up, aiming toward the men firing at them. He quickly let out a quick spread burst toward the enemy, hoping it would cause them to retreat or at least pause long enough for one of the more powerful metas to get close. He then brought his head up and yelled, "Anyone else who has a long range power, I suggest that you start attacking right now! Anyone with a defensive ability, I suggest you protect anyone still injured from any stray fire! Now hurry up before we all get kiled!" With that said, Alex returned hs attaention to the enemy in front and fired another series of shots at them, not sure whether any of them would hit or not and hoping that he wouldn't get hit in the process. |

((ooc: aaah! this post has too many words in it, if you want to just be summed up rather than read every word that's fine. Jarreth forces through the concussion and stands up, runs away and very narrowly avoids being blown up in order to fake his own death.)) It was too late, the enemy had already arrived. Jarreth wondered if they would have been in more of a position to escape had these people have listened to him rather than follow their own initiative, the more he thought about it the more he just felt yes, yes they probably would have been. Now they were surrounded by potential danger and Jarreth was just laying here right out in the open, unable to stand, unable to be of any use to these people. It was bad enough that Jarreth couldn’t move but he also couldn’t see what it was exactly that they were up against. There was just too much noise, too much shouting, too much confusion. Without a clear state of mind Jarreth was useless, without being able to move he was even more so and it was all these stupid students faults, if they had only listened to him in the first place. The sounds around him were deafening, gunshots, meta powers being used, shouting, not to mention the ringing in his ears that didn’t seem to want to go away. It was becoming too much, he just couldn’t think, and Jarreth was the sort of person who needed to think. “Do this carefully..” Jarreth thought to himself, “Just.. Block out everything.. Don’t listen to what is around you, close your eyes.. And think.” He did so, ignoring everything around him Jarreth managed to close his eyes and focus upon what was happening. Jarreth swore he had heard someone previously mention that they were being attacked by Mecah’s, the sounds that sounded almost like giant footsteps would definitely back up this claim. Three sets of footsteps, all coming from the same direction, in front of the helicopter. But there were also shouts from another source, not from the students who he had arrived with, and the sounds of motors. Jarreth could not assume exactly what else there was out there but he would have to deduct that there were also enemy reinforcements consisting of an unknown number of foot soldiers. That was it, Jarreth was beginning to put his brain to use once more, by blocking out all outside noise and focusing away from the pain and discomfort of the concussion he was able to slowly figure out the situation around him, and thusly a plan of action. The more Jarreth thought about it however the more he began to doubt his previous conclusions as to his team mates. No it wasn’t these peoples faults, they had healed him, cared for him, now they were even trying to protect him from the oncoming attack and all Jarreth had done so far was lay in the snow and do nothing. He was the one who was doing nothing not the other students, he was the problem, well no longer. Very slowly Jarreth began to put strain onto his arms, pushing downwards onto the snow underneath him with all of his might in a desperate attempt to get up. His arms were weak, his head hurt to even attempt to move however he fought through this pain. Nausea swept over his body, he felt as if he was about to throw up at any second but yet he continued to push his body off of the ground, if he was to throw up he would do so if it meant he would get off of this god damned snow. Now the pain of moving was seriously overcoming him, his head felt as if it was bleeding once more, cold and sending shooting pains across his body with every beat of his heart. Jarreth ignored it however, pushed it back into the corner of his mind where it laid forgotten, all he was focussing on was moving his body further off of the floor to eventually stand up on his feet. It wasn’t until Jarreth was almost all the way upright that he realised how far he had actually come, all he needed to do now was keep balanced on his two feet without standing over. He was now sitting upright with his legs tucked inwards so his feet were firmly down on the ground with his hands, this was the most difficult part and if he failed to keep balanced Jarreth knew he would have to start all over again. “Three.. Two.. One..” Jarreth thought over in his mind. “Go.” Suddenly he pushed off of the snow with his hands and pushed his entire body upright, kicking off of the ground with as much strength as he could in order to vault upright onto his feet. This suddenly caused a wave of pain to wash over his body, his vision blurred, the obvious fact that he was succumbing to a second concussion entered Jarreth’s mind. He stumbled across the snow, trying to keep upright no matter what however it seemed as if the ground were made of soft sponge, his body felt lighter than it should have been, his entire sense of balance was knocked completely off scale. What was worse, that feeling of nausea was back again. Jarreth grabbed onto the nearest thing to him for support, the side of the helicopter. Before him he could see the scale of the situation they were all in however it seemed to sway and blur as he tried to focus upon the objects in front of them. There were indeed mechs, and foot soldiers. “There has to be a way around this.” Jarreth whispered to himself, “Think, formulate a plan.” He closed his eyes, waiting patiently for a few moments as Jarreth tried to piece together a tactic in his mind. All at once different possibilities and outcomes were thought of and carefully put to the test. Percentages, figures, statistics, there was just so much Jarreth could think off however there was hardly any time to do so. It was a bit hap hazard, but he knew he would have to do the one thing that he could think of that had the highest percentage chance of success, even if it meant not double checking his assumptions. Without warning Jarreth took off, heading to his right and away from both the helicopter and the enemy. It was difficult to run, everything seemed to spin around him as if he was drunk and caused Jarreth to stumble as he ran. Despite this however he actually seemed very nimble, almost skimming across the surface of the ice as he moved and making quite a large amount of distance between him and the helicopter in a matter of seconds. The enemy soldiers seemed to notice him running away and obviously began to open fire upon him but by this time Jarreth was already too far away for any bullets to be very likely to reach him. This only left one last possible source of his enemy attacking him at this point, the mechs. Jarreth glanced behind his shoulder to see if the mech would turn to fire upon him, he was now a very large distance away from the helicopter however still well within firing distance of the gigantic bipedal war machine. And it was indeed slowly turning to look at him. It was only at this point that Jarreth realised that he was faced with the possibility of death, when he had been figuring out his chances while standing next to the helicopter this had all been in simulation however now it was all real. If Jarreth failed, he would die, he’d never be able to best his older brother or do any of the things he wanted to do in his life. It was also at this point that Jarreth came to realise something he had never thought before, he didn’t want to die. With a tremendous explosion of a sound the mecha fired its primary gun straight at Jarreth sending a deadly rocket flying straight at him. This was it, he had a split second to act and he knew his timing had to be just right, too slow and he’d be killed, too fast and he’d be kill inevitably anyway. “Now.” The second before the rocket hit Jarreth activated his invisibility and jumped as high and as far forwards as he possibly could. The sound of the explosion was so deafening it was soon replaced by silence and a soft ringing in his ears, fire shot all around him however the sheer impact of the rocket had already sent him flying. So fast. He hit the snow some distance away from the impact point where he was instantly buried and enveloped within the snow’s icy cold embrace. Invisible, and alive. All he could do was look upwards at the whiteness above him, staying perfectly still and allowing his body temperature to be hidden by the mass of freezing coldness he was surrounded by. Luckily with his protective clothing however he was safe to stay here for as long as he wished. “Plan sixty four, chance of success eighteen percent,” He thought over once more in his mind, “Trick the enemy into believing that I am dead.” Edited by A Hatted Man, Mar 16 2009, 04:45 PM.

'Shiro...' 'It's about damn time...' And with that short, internal discussion, those sapphire hues faded silver before becoming completely overwhelmed with a scarlet hue. Her expression shifted as a different voice allowed a small chuckle and a smirk to arise. Her heart began to pound against her chest as chaos now surrounded the group. That faint, blood-red aura surrounded her as her adrenaline rushed far beyond normal human standards. Those eyes became fully wide as she attempted to take in everything going on around her. 'We must remain in the middle of the group,' the newly awakened Shiro heard her counterpart speak. 'We must be able to help give aid to those who need it.' 'Tch,' Shiro let out a firm frown. 'Preventing injuries is just as good as healing them.' 'That form of strategy does not match the orders we were given!' 'Be a little more helpful by shutting the hell up and not distracting me!' With that, the voice fell silent and Shiro began to move. Despite being told that the chopper would provide them cover by a shout from one of her comrades, sitting in a box and waiting for it to rain bullets was not something she was going to do. Instead, she moved forward and hastily took off one of the thick layers of cloth wrapped around her; the heavy jacket. Snowmobiles began to sound off in the distance. Fortunately for Shiro, she was far happier taking on snowmobiles than the mechs. Thus, when the began to open fire, which had shortly been followed by the near destruction of the chopper itself. Well, so much for providing cover. As the leader of the mobile-driven gang announced the kill, a lust for blood expelled upon Shiro's features. Even with her hyperactive adrenaline, her movements would have been more limited with that extra jacket, thus the reasoning for removing it. Not only that, but with her adrenaline rushing, her blood moved and flowed freely enough to emit enough body heat and allow her to keep warm with the thinner layers. Then again, the moment her powers were deactivated, her nipples would probably be able to cut through ice. As the first mobile came toward her, guns toting and attempting to take aim over the rugged, snowy plains, Shiro shifted to the left. She sprinted in a semi-circle and tried her best to get to the man's side as he attempted to follow while the others more likely than not headed to destroy whomever was left in the helicopter. Shiro was forced into a quick roll as the man's arm waved outward to bring a barrage of bullets in her direction. With a quick push against the harder part of the snow's surface, she was able to get a quick leap in the man's direction, closing in the distance. Shiro aimed to kick the man square in the back of the head, hopefully, knocking him off the snowmobile and allowing Shiro to get a weapon in the process. Edited by Kira Rounin, Mar 25 2009, 06:20 PM.
