Kaneda tuned his guitar, his garage already getting hot; sweat was threatening to run down his face, and they havent even started yet. It was from body heat. Here was a whole bunch of people there, drinking, talking smoking. He looked at the other guitarist/ vocalist, the drummer, and the bassist. They all nodded to him, and he was ready to begin.

"Hey, how are yall tonight?' A few people clapped and cheered. 'Thanks for coming out tonight,' he continued. 'We're gonna start with a favorite of ours. This is 'this Calling'.

The band started in on the heavy, speed metal song, Kaneda singing the song and playing his guitar at the same time. The drummer was pounding on his drums like a madman, and the crowd was going insane.

I secretly crave, crave that scent again
Still feel it pressing on me now
Now with the onset, my flesh is weakening
I steel my nerves for temptations at hand again

And I hear this calling still you don't seem so far at all
And I hear this calling out

No secrets deception for these would tear this down
I'll note the past spair the pain
words match my deeds with brutal honesty
never forget these choices were made by me

And I hear this calling still you don't seem so far at all
And I hear this calling still you don't seem so far at all
And I hear this calling out

Not falling victim to the fire that burns inside of me
though I am fearfull I will not prevent this tragedy
My strengths been tested I wear the scars that prove
Still I believe that this calling will see me through

And I hear this calling still you don't seem so far at all
And I hear this calling still you don't seem so far at all
And I hear this calling out

My strengths been tested I wear the scars that prove
Still I believe that this calling will see me through.

Ally had gone back to her room to put away her new guitar. She didn't see a whole lot of reason to bring it with her to the show. She was excited about going, that was for sure. She hadn't seen one since leaving New York except for Kenji's set at the coffee shop that one night and that had been so brief.

She had taken the opportunity to change and had used it as an opportunity to wear a simple purple baby-doll cut dress and just because she could she grabbed her heels. Now being 5'9" was bad enough, but add the heels and she was almost 6'. At some point a girl just stops caring and wears them anyways. So being almost 6' she set out the door for the garage show.

---

It was small, packed and loud - and Ally was already having a great time. She still had her tea from Blue Leaves and was sipping on it while tapping her toes to the music. They didn't sound bad at all and that was just an added bonus to the night.

Becki found herself wandering around for longer than expected. At first she knocked on doors to see if the Adams family was there. Then after an encounter with a dog that left a rip in her white fleece, she'd started looking at the names by the mail boxes. If only she'd thought to ask her mom where Scotch was staying, then she wouldn't have to be doing this. Heck, if only that random ass turtle-thing hadn't of stepped on her phone, she wouldn't have to go to her mom, to get a new one to then only find out that the new phone would take weeks to get there and that one of her best friends hadn't been in the USA for God knows how many months Then-

"Mommy, that girl's face is scary!"

Beck turned her scowling face to the little kid audacious enough to say that. The little one scooted closer to her mom as she saw the red heads already clenched fists. An eyebrow twitched. It was all she could do to keep her anger from lashing out on a child. The mother leaned closer as they were about to pass on the sidewalk. Surely she would tell that little girl how rude that was.

"Now sweety, don't say that. Just point and I'll get the hint...."

What?! Oh no she didn't! Beck's fists tightened as she gritted her teeth with eyes tightly closed. It was futile effort to keep her anger in check. She began pushing up her sleeves. "Oh I've got a hint ta show ya!" But there was no one there. She could practically make out a dotted red outline of where the parent and child had been. Beck let out a growl of anger before taking off in that direction, never noticing the parent and child crouching behind a wall. "And that my dear is how you deal with high schoolers."

Becki never noticed a thing, she just kept on seeing red and running. That was until sounds of heavy metal flowed into her ears. She stopped mid run. One leg, one arm still in the air just a few paces past the street the music came from. For one moment she stood there thinking. Here she was, on an crazy dash across the neighborhood in search of a mother and her 5 year old. Becki's her head and limbs hung low. "What in the world am I doing?" Putting her hands on her hips, she stretched her back. The rip was thankfully on the back, but there were other dust stains lightly scattered here and there. Underneath that she wore an orange and black tank. Her black shorts went with her black and silver belt, which in turn matched her combat boots. The outline of her ankh could be seen under her shirt, and as always her fastened gloves were in her back pocket.

Taking her eyes from the sky, she faced the street where the music played. 'Might as well do something constructive,' she thought, heading towards the garage show. There were a lot of people, so Beck stayed in the back after grabbing an unattended, unopened pop from a slew of others. The cool liquid along with the clear chorus helped calm her anger more. It didn't take long for her to her head to start moving, herself moving side to side. After a few move vocals, she decided to try to make out all the screaming lyrics.

By the end of the song, she clapped along with the others who were making other noise with their applause. She actually felt a hint of a smirk on her face. Beck turned to the nearest person after taking a swig of ramune. It was a girl a lot taller than herself in killer heels and a nice dress [Ally]. "Hey, Do you know what band this is?"

The band finished the song, and the crowd clapped and whistled. Kaneda looked out, smiling. 'Thanks you guys. Thanks again for being here.' He saw Ally in the crowd, and he winked and smiled at her. 'Ok, so, in case ya'll don't know what our band name is, we really gont have one yet, but we're leaning towards Captian Trips and the Viral Infections...' the band members behind him laughed. 'Just kidding. The band is called The Messenger (answering Becki, even though he had niether seen nor heard her). I'm your host Kaneda, (motioning to his dread lock sporting drummer) the sap with the black hair is Goro, (to his backup guitar, a pretty girl with blue hair), that's Ayumi, (And to the bassist, a mountain of a man with a shaved head), and this hunk of human here is Skeld.'

his 'guests' applauded again, and Kaneda continued. 'Ok, let's keep this going. This next one is 'Two Weeks.'

and you neglected I called you out don't please
I said we're stronger than this now
you resurrected mistakes years past it seemed
and they exist to still haunt you

and still you feel like the loneliness
is better replaced by this
I don't believe it this way
and I can see the fear in your eyes
I've seen it materialize
Growing stronger each day

I could see it as you turned to stone
Still clearly I can hear you say
don't leave, don't give up on me
two weeks and you ran away
I remember don't lie to me
you couldn't see that it was not that way
swear I never gave up on you

I wanted nothing but for that trust again
and brick by brick you would take it
You feared of phantoms and none exist but you
you still saw fit to destroy it

and still you feel like the loneliness
is better replaced by this
I don't believe it this way
and I can see the fear in your eyes
I've seen it materialize
growing stronger each day

I could see it as you turned to stone
still clearly I can hear you say
don't leave don't give up on me
two weeks and you ran away
I remember don't lie to me
you couldn't see that it was not that way
swear I never gave up on you

and you neglected I called you out don't please
I said we're stronger than this now
You feared of phantoms and none exist but you
you still saw fit to destroy it

and I can see the fear in your eyes
I've seen it materialize
growing stronger each day

I could see it as you turned to stone

The band perfomermed with an almost surgical precision, but at the same time they had fun eachother and the crowd. In the middle of a verse, Kaneda grabbed a bottle of vodka that someone was holding out, took a huge drink from it, and tossed it back, then continued to play and sing, going through the complex chords and screaming at the crowd. Ayumi's hair was going in all directions with her headbanging, Skeld spraying sweat slamming his bald head through the air while providing backup vocals for this song, and Goro's feet were moving like the bolt of a machine gun.

Taking nother long drink from her cup, one arm folded under her chest - Ally continued to bob her head to the music and tap her foot. She'd been friends with guys in two different metal-esk bands before she'd come here and had gone to enough of their shows to develop at least a taste for wht was good and what was bad; Kaneda's bad fell under the category of good.

As their first song wrapped up Ally clapped and whoop'd enthusiastically; she'd stood off to one side a little bit back. She was tall enough she didn't have much of an issue seeing and being seen; everything has it's pros and cons - right?

"Thanks you guys. Thanks again for being here."

Now under very normal circumstances getting a wink and a smile would have just been something to smile at and wink back, however, since the other evening Ally was a little apprehensive about anything that wasn't strictly platonic. It caught her a little off guard but she was able to smile back and at least continue to have a good time.

"Hey, Do you know what band this is?"

"Hum?" She said leaning down to the girl stnding next to her, "Oh - the band-" and before she could reply with a lame excuse of 'oh - I know the guy but I don't know the name of his band' Kaneda unknowingly saved her. Since her voice would have been drowned out anyways she stoped talking and while still leaning towards the girl, she glanced up at the stage as her new friend started speaking.

"Ok, so, in case ya'll don't know what our band name is, we really gont have one yet, but we're leaning towards Captian Trips and the Viral Infections... Just kidding. The band is called The Messenger. I'm your host Kaneda, the sap with the black hair is Goro, that's Ayumi, and this hunk of human here is Skeld."

The crowd broke out in a chorus of applaus and Ally turned her attention back to the girl standing next to her with grin on her face, "The Messenger," laughing her herself she extended her previously folded arm, "I'm Ally," she yelled as the music began to pick up for the next song.

"Ok, let's keep this going. This next one is 'Two Weeks."

There was a shadow of a smirk on her face. "Becki," she said while shaking the offered hand. While she could've and would've said more, the next song was starting up. Her attention went back to the front where she could make out most of the band members. Her mind wondered how long it took them to get this good.

As the song went on Beck swayed and moved her head to the music. From time to time she tried to focus on each individual instrument. Ayumi was hitting every note with ease, and Beck had no idea how Goro obtained such skill with the drums. Skeld was really giving his all, along with his band mates. Kaneda's vocals (and lead guitar role) was really something. Beck appreciated the clearer vocals so that she could take in the music and make her observations at the same time. Had she been fond of bumping into people left and right, she would've gotten closer to the stage to see everyone properly. For right now, she stayed closer to the back.

When the song ended, Becki clapped enthusiastically along with the others, even extended a fist in the air with a few silent pumps. There were plenty of other people making their own sounds of approval. BEck had decided that this was a band she liked. Cupping one hand to the side of her mouth, she gave a holler: "YOU GUYS ROCK!" She clapped her hands over her head. The grin on her face didn't fade as she heard many others second her opinion. Lowering her arms she looked around with a big smile on her face. She saw Ally, but kept looking around. As realization creeped on her on who wasn't there, her smile fell. She took another swig of her drink to try and keep herself from thinking too much about missing her friend.

Kaneda grinned broadly, as did the rest of the band. 'Thanks yall,' he said. 'Okay, well, we talked about this last night, and since we're in Japan and all, it would be kinda rude of us if we didn't play some J-Rock, (A couple of people applauded and whistled) So we're gonna do one more song, then we're gonna take a quick break.'

he changed guitars, and Goro moved closer to a seperate mike that was in front of him. Ok, we all agreed that our favorite anime was 'Air Gear',' he said in a deep, rumbling voice, 'so here's 'Chain.'

Goro- Red

Kaneda- Blue

((Sorry, couldnt find it in english lol))

When they finished the song, the group cheered and clapped. 'Thanks.' Kaneda said into the mike. 'Well, we're gonna take a short break, so you guys hang out, enjoy my house, all that.' He took off his guitar, and hit the play button on the MP3 player he wired to speakers in the house, then grabbed a bottle of ashai before walking opver to Ally and her friend. 'Hey! So, um, what do you think...?' he looked over at her friend, smiled, and said: 'I'm sorry, I'mn being rude. Name's Kaneda,' he saids to Becki as he held out his hand to shake.

"Becki."

Ally grinned and as the music picked up she transferred her attention back to the stage and action milling around in front of it. While Ally couldn't very well carry on a conversation with Becki during the song she did smile at her occasionally and clapped along with the song.

"YOU GUYS ROCK!"

"Thanks." Kaneda said into the mike. "Well, we're gonna take a short break, so you guys hang out, enjoy my house, all that."

Giggling, Ally turned towards Becki, "I can't believe he actually played a J-Pop song! We talked just the other day about how much he didn't like it. Sorry, I just think it's funny," taking into consideration the changed visage, "Becki? You okay?"

But before Becki could reply, Kaneda appeared through the crowd, "Hey! So, um, what do you think...?"

"Heeeeeeeey!" She said, turning to face Kaneda and giving him a quick hug, before stepping back to include Becki.

"I'm sorry, I'm being rude. Name's Kaneda"

The start of Chain didn't reverse Becki's countenance. The crowd roared to life at the J-rock song began. Her hands became gentle fists, one tapping lightly against a leg that slightly moved to the beat. Her head lowered as her heart sank into a forgotten memory. To most, it might seem as though she was really feeling the music. But it was more than that. The words spilled from her mouth in low, rhythmic words. This was his song.

Scotch and her brother would blare the song each time they watch that show, Air whatever the heck it was. Becki didn't do anime. Her brother couldn't breathe without it. Their distant friend, Terry, was amused with it. Scotch loved the music. Chain was one of his favorites. It was on his iPOD, out his lips, and lodged in Becki's mind in no time. He knew the translation only a bit, she knew none of it. Despite Scotch's lack of singing ability, he always took special care with this song. She clenched her fists tighter. Not knowing where he was was slowly killing her.

"...Becki? You okay?"

Becki looked up at Ally as if woken from a daze. Had she been talking to her for long? Soon though the lead singer approached the taller teen. Beck took the moment to try and cover up her emotions for the moment. She shook her head and gave her forehead a few light slaps. When she focused on the pair, she realized they were looking at her. Awkward moment to be caught in. She took that hand and brushed her hair back all the way while her other hand went to shake his.

"I'm Becki. Nice to meet you." she said after giving a decent shake. Not ready to trust her interacting skills at the moment, Beck went to take another sip of her beverage, only to find it all gone. She shook the glass around, "Time for a refill. I'll be right back." With that, Beck went to look for where more Ramune was. She knew there had to be some somewhere. Yes, she's think about Ramune instead of what really bothered her...

Becki stopped after not even taking four steps. Wait a minute. What was she running away from? It was time to kick her mental anguish in the balls, for lack of a better expression. She turned back around to the duo. "Actually, is it okay if I use your phone?" She asked with a gesture to the house. "A giant turtle stepped on mine and I really need to contact someone."
