Now that spring was coming around, the weather was getting much nicer. As the seasons were just changing, it was bright and sunny, and the perfect temperature outside - not cold, but definitely not hot. As such, many of the students were outside, enjoying the amazing weather.

Knives was one of these people. Resigned to just lazing around outside, he was easily found on one of the benches in the courtyard, tossing a tennis ball in the air and catching it. All of his old friends from when he used to attend the school were gone... and even though he was back, he hadn't been back for long. So, he found himself alone right then. Maybe in a bit, he'd try to start up a game of football or something, see who joined; for now, he was satisfied being lazy.

Off at the other end of the courtyard, some kid was flying a kite. Knives had noticed him, only enough to realize that the kid definitely wasn't student here. He looked far too young, probably an elementary schooler! But when Knives realized it was probably someone's younger brother or something, who came here to visit, he shrugged and stopped caring. It wasn't interesting, so he looked around for something else that was more fun.

CRACK!

As soon as Knives looked away, back at his tennis ball, a bolt of lightnight struck the kite from the sky! Knives's eyes immediately snapped back to that direction, as he jumped up from his casual, half-laying-down position into a more sitting-forward position. Where did that lightning come from? There wasn't a cloud in the sky!

"Wh-what...?" Came a voice from across the courtyard. The kite had fallen to the ground, but seemed otherwise unharmed. But now it had... spoken? Eyes fluttered open on the front of the diamond-shaped piece of fabric, and it shook itself. "Where did my master go...?"

It fluttered up into the air, about chest-high for the average person, and looked around. The boy had completely disappeared.

Knives blinked, unsure what to think of the situation before him.

Helena was sitting on her usual bench in the courtyard with a new dream psychology book. It seemed to be more scientifically based than others she had, and less on the "Doctor Phil" style of translating dreams. It was ok, but she wasn't really in much of a reading mood.
She glanced around the rest of the courtyard, and saw a boy flying a kite, which she hadn't seen anyone do in her time so far on campus. She did think he looked a bit young to be a classmate, but appearances here were deceiving. She quickly got bored with the kid, and focused her gaze on a couple...eeh.

CRACK!

Helena instantly snapped back to the source of the noise. The boy was no longer there... and was the kite... talking? That was... not normal. This was upsetting, Helena assumed that any moment, she was going to discover that she had become trapped in one of her own illusions again.
She slammed her book down on the bench, got up, and went over to the other person who seemed perplexed by what was happening.

"Hey, why the hell is that kite talking?" she asked Knives.

As expected, other people were now noticing (and commenting!) on the kite. Well, that wasn't much of a surprise; Knives was actually about to ask a question to the courtyard himself! Well, he would have, except someone had spoken to him directly first. When he turned to respond, and saw that she was a girl (and an attractive one, at that!), he decided it would be much more fun to talk to her about it than the rest of the people around him.

"I dunno," He answered with a big grin, flashing his large canine teeth. Then, with a laugh, he added, "But I'm not really surprised. I've seen crazier stuff around here, haven't you?"

Everyone seemed to be staying back, though. Even for AHS, this was slightly out of the ordinary. Just slightly. After all, kites aren't supposed to come alive! But Knives was curious. And a kite shouldn't be dangerous, right?

Knives glanced around, then back at the girl.

"How about we go find out why?" He said as he stood up from his bench, flashing the girl another big, friendly grin, his fluffy dog tail waving back and forth happily.

After waving for her to come along, he walked over to the kite.

"Uhh. Hi. So, uhhm, what are you?"

The two eyes on the kite blinked as it looked up at the dog boy. After a minute, it responded, "I'm a kite?"

Now, it was Knives's turn to blink. Then, he laughed. After all, it was a funny joke! But the kite didn't seem to be joking; it tilted sideways in midair, and its tail flew up to "scratch" its top point. It was quite the scene.

"Can you help me find my master?" The kite asked Knives, before he had a chance to correct his previous question.

"Sure. I don't really have anything else to do right now, huh?" Then, he glanced over at the girl he had just met. "You wanna help us find Mr. Kite's master?"
