Standing few steps from the forest, Enji held a serious pose. His smirk wasn't up, his headphones weren't on his ears but just around his neck. He analyzed carefully the forest ahead. He takes few steps ahead and heard a cracking branch. Leanning back and in a quick twist, he avoided the now falling branch and broke it in half with his wrist. He looked to the branch and then back to the forest.

A frown formed on his forehead and he thought "Is that place truly a home to werewolves?! Should I venture in?!". At the thought, his smirk grew again. He sits in a nearby branch and chooses randomly a song in his iPod. "Bark at the Moon" was the song. He puts his headphones back on and watches the forest. from a safe distance.

She could already tell that she wasn't alone. Just ahead of her, she could sense him but could he sense her? With enough effort, she walked silently among the trees, keeping out of view and sticking to the shadows.

No, he didn't seem to be anything worth studying or investigating, she decided after spotting him with ease. What was he waiting for? Perhaps curiosity caused her to pretend to stumble carelessly and clumsily through the forest floor, making herself quite easy to see if anyone was looking in her general direction.

She even made a few grunting noises as she brushed herself off and glanced around as if she was unaware of his presence.

"Can't climb a tree to save my life," she muttered under her breath before humming the tune of a well known nursery rhyme. The redhead casually made her way towards Enji's location before pausing, studying his reactions carefully and waiting for him to make his move.

"Hm?"

Suddenly, he took his hand to his pocket and lowered the volume of the song, only enough for him to listen a bit to the envrioment. "I think I heard someone..." he thought aloud and looked in her direction. He said nothing, until... "Oi, why are you in there? Don't you know it's dangerous?" he yelled.

"Dangerous, you say?" She smirked a little as she looked into his face, "And what, pray tell, would be so dangerous in this forest? It's connected to the school right? So it should be fine."

The girl folded her arms with a slight air of authority before quirking an eyebrow at him, "Besides...what are you doing here if you know it's so dangerous?"

He simply smiles. After a while, he says "Ah, it's because I'm planning a small camping in the next full moon..." he said "And I'm not afraid of venturing in there... I'm just scanning the area. You know, seeing how it is before venturing in with a group.". He then stood up and walked to her, his hands hiding in his pockets. "What about you? Why are you in there? Are you a werewolf I heard of?" he said.

Jennifer Alexis Chase, or 'Jen' as she prefers her friends to call her walked down the concrete footpath running along the forest's edge, listening to The Black Mages' Final Fantasy music compilation on her Creative IPod while reading through an AHS students' handbook. Well, not exactly reading, as she pretty much knew everything there was to know from the handbook after having flipped through its pages thanks to her phenomenal speed-reading ability.

Jen looked to her right, at the boundary of the forest - beyond the edge of the footpath, one would still need to cross a short stretch of grass-covered fields before entering the forest proper, and it was on the field just before one enters the forest that Jen could make out warning signs, presumably erected by school authorities. From the distance she couldn't exactly make out what the signboard was saying, but judging from the red colored words and the black exclamation mark inside a yellow triangle it left little room for doubt that it is a warning to deter people from entering the forest.

As Jen continued down the footpath she caught sight of two people, most likely AHS students. Just what a new AHS student needs... Jen thought, a smile crossing her face as she approached the duo - a boy with white hair and a fox-like expression dressed in a jacket and jeans, who was accompanied by a red-headed girl.

"Hi, nice weather isn't it?" Jen asked the two, waving as she approached.

Waiting. For at least half an hour now Jarreth had been stuck to the side of a tree, concealed from view by clumps of leaves and twigs, his ability to increase magnetism between him and any item he touched allowing him to sit up against the side of the tall trunk without slipping or even moving an inch. His breath was slowed in order to keep his focus truly pinpointed upon his target, he didn’t know how long he would have to wait in location, but it didn’t matter. Humans could live for a very long time without food or even water, and Jarreth had a plentiful supply of water around his neck. Most people would hate the prospect of staying perfectly still for a prolonged amount of time, however to Jarreth this was nothing he couldn’t do, for days if needed be. This training and discipline was what he needed to put up with in order to become better than his brother, so that he could finally outshine his older sibling and not be compared to him any second longer.

A rustle of leaves sounded out across the forest causing Jarreth’s interest to look to the side down at the forest floor. It was a group of students, they seemed to be talking however their voices were muffled and not sharp enough for him to pick up each individual word. Suddenly a second rustle of leaves sounded out across the forest, acting swiftly Jarreth lifted up his left arm and pulled his hand down upon the trigger lever of the mini crossbow attached to his arm sending a bolt flying across the air towards his intended target. The bolt sunk deep into the ground after putting a hole through the head of a nearby deer, it staggered about, its body unable to comprehend the fact that it was dead as electric signals rushed from its now scrambled brain to the nerves around its body. Shortly afterwards it fell to the ground, twitching a little bit, before dying completely.

“Not bad..” Jarreth muttered under his breath, “..But not good enough.”

He had been stalking the deer for a while now and pined it down into this location, now it had only been a waiting game to see which one would move first. Luckily those children had turned up to scare it out of its hiding place otherwise he would have been waiting for days, not that Jarreth would have minded this however. His training was going slowly, he was not yet good enough with this weapon in order to use it in a fight, however soon enough he would be, it was only a matter of time. If he wanted to be able to dispatch people quickly from a hiding place Jarreth would have to be able to hit a pin prick sized location of the brain, delivering death in a split second, a target he had yet been able to hit. For now however it was a proficient hunting weapon.

Now all he had to do was collect the deer. However it had died so close to the school children maybe they would approach it before he could get to it, he chose to watch their future actions before deciding on what to do. Jarreth remained hidden, keeping as quiet and as motionless as possible.

"Werewolf, you say?" The redhead gave him a sly smile before averting her eyes to the side, her ears twitching to a sound she knew quite well. "Where on earth would you get an idea like that from?" A chuckle escaped her as she waved nonchalantly at Jennifer before passing by the two of them towards the deceased deer.

"Everyone knows..." She trailed off as she bent down beside the deer, almost petting it lovingly as she spoke to them, "...That werewolves don't exist. At least not in this area. The forest? Be real. Werewolves wouldn't camp here unless they were hunting."

Her emerald eyes slowly scanned the area, but after a blink or two, she shrugged off her light investigation. "Where's your friend? He's a good shot." After nudging the deer, she stood back up, wrapped her wrists around its legs and started to drag it off.

"Well, nice knowing you...werewolf hunter. And you too, missy. I've got dinner to bring home," her voice seemed to echo through the trees as she glanced around once more.

A rustle of leaves drew Jennifer's attention to the nearby trees in the forest, the students' movements having startled a deer and causing the frightened animal to break into a run, emerging from its cover amongst the trees. Before she could say anything however, the deer crashed to the ground, struggling a bit before all was still.

"Whoever did this must be a good shot with ancient projectile-based weapons," the lavender-haired girl mused as she approached the lifeless body of the deer to take a look, noticing that a crossbow bolt had pierced the creature's head.

"Werewolf, you say?" The red-haired girl spoke up, addressing the boy with white hair as Jennifer looked on, nodding at the redhead's wave as she too approached the deer's body. "Everyone knows..." the redhead's voice trailed off as she bent down, petting the cooling body of the dead deer.

"...That werewolves don't exist. At least not in this area. The forest? Be real. Werewolves wouldn't camp here unless they were hunting." The red-haired girl scanned the area with her eyes, prompting Jennifer to look wherever the redhead's eyes searched. Jen admitted that in this day and age it was a surprise to find someone who can use a crossbow with this level of proficiency. But whoever the shooter was, Jennifer was unable to track his position from the cover of the woods.

"Where's your friend? He's a good shot." The redhead asked as she took hold of the deer by its legs, dragging its carcass off.

"Well, nice knowing you...werewolf hunter. And you too, missy. I've got dinner to bring home," the girl with red hair said as she looked over her shoulder, her voice echoing through the trees.

"The name's Jennifer, Jennifer Chase," Jen replied, not knowing whether the redhead could hear her or not, raising a hand and waving it. Jennifer had read about people eating game animals such as deer, which was rather common in Asia, and being partially of Asian descent herself she knew well enough, although she had never eaten game animals herself - she just couldn't get used to it. "But you can call me Jen!" she continued, a beaming smile on her face.

"Well, she seemed nice and jolly," Jennifer commented as she waved her farewell, before turning to the boy with white hair.

He chuckle a bit at her and approaches a little more. "I know they exist... But, don't worry. I hate no werewolf, as my brother is going to become one. Can we talk more tomorrow? Don't worry, I mean no harm to anyone." he whispered, ensuring that only Rae could hear "You can call me simply Enji.".

"Werewolf hunter? Nah, I'm no hunter!" he said in a friendly chuckle as he saw her dragging the deer away and waves her a farewell "And you have a bon apetit milady!". He then turned to Jennifer.

"You are right... She's fearless and all. Heh, I doubt she is a werewolf, after all I have reasons to believe they were extinct." he lied "I just compared her to one to see her reactions.". Although he wasn't much of a liar, he made it sound convincing enough. "So, my name is Shikagami Enji." he said and gave her his hand for a handshake.

"Werewolf hunter? Nah, I'm no hunter!" Enji said, giving a friendly chuckle as the redhead disappeared into the woods with the deer, waving her farewell. "And you have a bon apetit milady!" As Enji spoke, Jennifer rubbed her chin thoughtfully, wondering what venison tasted like. She had seen her parents have some back in Singapore a couple years ago, and it looked not bad when pan-seared with ginger and spring onion - although she had read that due to wildlife protection laws, the genuine article was hard to come by and most venison in the market was in fact pork that had been treated to give it a similar texture and flavor.

This was when he turned his attention back to the lavender-haired girl. "You are right... She's fearless and all. Heh, I doubt she is a werewolf, after all I have reasons to believe they were extinct; I just compared her to one to see her reactions." Enji reached out with a hand to propose a handshake, "So, my name is Shikagami Enji."

Smiling broadly, Jennifer gave Enji a warm handshake. "Nice to meet you then, Shikagami Enji." The lavender-haired girl slowly let go of the boy's hand. "And as I've said earlier, the name's Jennifer Chase, but you can call me Jen." That being said Jen gave Enji a thumbs-up before pointing at herself with said thumb.

"So, what's this I hear about becoming a werewolf and all?" Jen asked curiously, peering at Enji curiously.

"Right, I'll call you Jen then." he said "Well, about becomming werewolf, I was just kidding. It is not real, it's just that my brother caught an illness in that forest and that girl just came from there, so I wondered that she might know. So I teased her a bit by saying she was a werewolf.". He suddenly became serious, but remained with his eyes as slits. He turned his head to the direction of Jarreth. "Odd... I got the feeling that I'm being watched..." he mentioned.

Jen seriously wondered if he'd seen something with his eyes narrowed to a pair of slits, but his senses definitely seemed sharper than the average person as someone or something had clearly put him on the alert.

"Odd... I got the feeling that I'm being watched..." Enji said as he looked in Jarreth's direction. Jennifer looked about, but saw no one.

"I think I feel it too," Jen added.

It didn’t matter if the two were staring at where Jarreth had been before, because by that time he was already long gone. Having seen the red headed girl walk off with his deer only one thought went through his mind, theft. That was his kill, he deserved the right to cook and eat it and would protect that right at any cost. It wasn’t personal feeling, it was pure and simple logic.

Using his ability to control magnetism to his full advantage Jarreth slid down the trunk of the tree before finally touching down on the ground. His feet making sure to find gaps in-between leaves and twigs so not to make a sound. She was walking away as if she thought she was going to make her way out of here without a single problem, surely she knew the deer had been killed by someone. Which did raise an important question, surely she did know. If she did know then did that mean she was trying to lure him out into the open, why would she do this? It didn’t matter, Jarreth had to have his kill back at all costs. He began making his way across the forest floor after her, stepping lightly so not to make a sound and moving quickly, hiding behind tree trunks and peering out while at the same time using his invisibility technique so to not cast a shadow or allow her to see him poking his head out to check if she was still there.

Eventually he continued to follow the girl until the pair were well out of earshot, eventually coming to lean against the side of a tree, his arms crossed as he remained concealed from view. From his checking he came to notice that the girl was walking at least six to seven meters from his location, this was the time to act. The forest was wide and open, sounds would echo in this location causing them to become unable to pinpointed to a single location. The boy, with his long black hair which fell down in front of his eyes, after long last, made his move.

“I’ll be having my deer back now.” He said loud enough to be heard, still remaining behind the tree he remained concealed from sight, his voice echoed, pinpointing his location would be incredibly difficult even for the most hardened forest experts. But then that was how Jarreth worked, by only acting the moment he had the distinct advantage.

His eyes darted off in the direction of the forest again. She could catch a small glimpse of his red eyes as he widens them about one ro two milimeters. His hearing, used to finding even the smallest and almost unnoticeable flaw in a song, caught a faint trace of the echo. However, his first thought was that it would be the girl delivering it to someone. But his feet began moving as he walked toward the forest.

He heard a hissing and then a snake darted at his leg. He looked down to the snake and picked them by the head. He held it up and said "Poisonous...". After analyzing the snake's fangs, it was slighty cracked and had a bit of a black substance. The snake squirms in his hand and suddenly stopped moving. He gave a smirk and held the snake up to a branch on the right. The snake slithers from his hand and coils onto the branch.

His eyes went back to Jen as he said "Hey, Jen! Want to explore this forest with me?" he asked.

"Hey Enji, wait up!" Jennifer exclaimed as Enji began to head into the woods, the boy having apparently detected something amiss and investigating. "Oh man..." the lavender-haired girl mumbled as she trudged off after him into the woods.

Jen's eyes widened as she heard a hissing noise issuing from the grass. "Snake!" she exclaimed just as one darted towards Enji's leg, the boy's footsteps having startled the snake and causing it to strike. Enji responded swiftly, seizing the snake by its head and picking it up.

"Poisonous..." Enji commented, forcing open the snake's jaws and examining its fangs which dripped a black substance. Jen was some distance away from Enji, and from the distance she couldn't readily identify which species this particular specimen belonged to. The snake wriggled for a while as Enji held it in his hand, before suddenly going still. Smirking, Enji held the snake towards a low-lying branch on a nearby tree. The snake suddenly sprang to life, slithering out of Enji's hand and onto the branch, coiling itself around.

"Hey, Jen! Want to explore this forest with me?" Enji asked as he looked back at Jennifer.

"Wouldn't that be dangerous?" Jennifer asked, looking at the warning sign at the edge of the woods, which they had already trespassed into. "I mean, we're barely into the forest and you almost got attacked... I take it you know what to expect and how to defend yourself?" the lavender-haired American girl continued, wondering what ability Enji possesses - he did seem quite sure of himself, after all.

"I know how to defend myself. But I ask you... Do you know how to defend yourself?" he asked "As for what to expect, I have no idea. I just want to explore for now...". He had smiled to her a little more, as if saying "Don't worry, everything is gonna be alright!". That smile would make one too think he had something in mind, something BAD. But only those that were very paranoid would think that, no?

"I know how to defend myself. But I ask you... Do you know how to defend yourself?" Enji asked. "As for what to expect, I have no idea. I just want to explore for now..." Enji continued, his smile widening.

A faint smile crosses Jennifer's face, slowly widening into a grin as she stood with one hand on her hip and another and raised, pointing at herself with her thumb.

"I can process information at phenomenal speeds and retain them," Jennifer replied confidently. "And a few hours ago I just finished reading a book on Karate." To illustrate her point, Jennifer picked up a rather thick branch - slightly thicker than her forearm - that had fallen off a nearby tree and threw the fallen limb into the air. The American girl watched the midair motions of the branch intently, getting into a Hachiji-dachi stance.

"Hi-yah!"

With a shout, Jennifer kicked her foot upwards, striking the branch dead in the middle with the ball of her foot. A resounding crack echoed through the forest as the branch broke in two, the sundered halves spinning through the air before landing a few meters away on the ground.

"How's that for a demonstration?" Jennifer asked on her martial arts display. She had only just finished a book on Karate, but her demonstration seemed to make her come across as a black belt holder. "Anyway, let's take a look what lies in these woods, shall we?" Jennifer asked, winking.

"Heh, not bad!" Enji commented as they headed deeper into the woods.

"Hey Enji, where'd you get that blade?" Jen asked as she noticed that the boy was now holding a sword, roughly a meter long, and using it to cut his way through the undergrowth. It was strange because she had no idea how he could have hidden such a conspicuous-looking weapon on his person.

"You better not stay behind or ahead. If we separate, things will be complicated..." Enji said as he carved a path ahead.

"Right then, I'll stay close..." Jen replied as she stayed next to the boy.

"Take a guess..." he said and kept slicing the way. Soon they reached the highest point, from which he looked toward the sun. "Ah... This is excelent, isn't it? I think we'll reach the old cabin soon..." he said. He had no instructions, but he wanted to give her a reason to feel safe around him. Perhaps, to have her trust even more on him?

"Take a guess..." Enji said as he hacked at the undergrowth with his sword, it wasn't long before the two of them arrived at the highest point, a hilly part of the forest. Enji looked towards the sun.

"So... I don't suppose you just pulled that sword out of thin air?" Jennifer asked, looking around the forest, on the alert for any movement from the nearby trees and bushes, wondering if there were any wild animals, monsters or worse.

"Ah... This is excellent, isn't it? I think we'll reach the old cabin soon..." Enji said. Jennifer just nodded as she followed him.

His sword melts and slithers around his hand and under the shirt's sleeve. After a while, it was completly gone. "Well, from this point on, we won't need much to hack our path open..." he said and continues to walk "Well, Lemme listen to something while we continue our little trip..." he puts on his headphones and chooses "Welcome to the Jungle" to play.

"Wow! Cool..." Jennifer commented as the sword in Enji's hand melts, turning into some kind of slithering goo that slid underneath his sleeve and then disappeared. "Are those nanobots or something?" the American girl asked; she remembered the internet article she had read up on nanotechnology - on how recent breakthrough in molecular-sized machines have allowed the first commercial applications of nanobots; such as for medical purposes, performing extremely delicate surgery on body parts that no human surgeon could touch, or to effect extremely precise repairs on machinery, mimetic alloys with shape-memory capabilities, just to name a few.

"Well, from this point on, we won't need much to hack our path open..." Enji said. "Well, Lemme listen to something while we continue our little trip..." he took out his headphones. The silence of the surrounding woods made it easy for Jen to make out what he was listening to, Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N' Roses.

"As cliched as it may seem, I couldn't think of a more fitting song than that!" Jennifer remarked, a smile appearing on her face as she bobbed her head slightly to the song.

"Nanobots? No, nanobots aren't reliable enough..." he said as he hums the song and proceeds. Soon they were to reach the old cabin, or so he expected.

Yet, he seemed way too calm for someone who had seen a deer die of posioning right before him and a snake latching onto his leg as soon as he stept into the forest.

Drowning in the song, he breaks a low branch with a well-located punch and started using it as if it was a guitar.

"Nanobots? No, nanobots aren't reliable enough..." Enji replied as he hummed along to the song, continuing with their trek through the woods, with Jennifer following along, noting on how calm the boy seemed. As they ran into a low branch, Enji snapped off the tree limb with a well-placed punch and took hold of it, strumming an imaginary guitar with it.

"So, are we arriving yet? How much more ground to cover?" Jennifer asked as she observed her surroundings.

"I don't know!" he said and kept enjoying his song. It was strange, he could listen to her even thought his headphones were rather loud now. After a good while walking, they came by this old cabin. "Well, here's my objective..." he said. The sun was almost gone by now, but he didn't seemed to care. He walked within the old cabin and the door creaks.

"I don't know!" came Enji's reply as he continued to jam to his song. Jennifer could only wonder how he managed to hear her over the blasting of his headphones, the music so loud she could hear it as well. The two of them continued their trek for a fair amount of time, and eventually an old wooden cabin loomed into view.

"Well, here's my objective..." Enji said as he approached the cabin, with Jennifer by his side.

"The sun's setting," Jennifer commented, the sky taking on an orange hue. It wouldn't be long before twilight sets in, and then darkness would follow. Night time in a forest is usually not a good time to hang out, considering how many predators tend to be nocturnal, and that is not even considering the possibility of wraiths, vampires and other creatures of the night that come out to have their fun at the expense of the living.

The door creaks as Enji entered the cabin, pushing the door open.

He was making an inspection all over the cabin. "How much time do we have left until it darkens completly?" he asked as he slid his hand over the surface of an inner door and later looked to the room within. "That window over there and this door doesn't seem too weak. I think they'll be usefull." he thought.

"Looks like we'll have to hold out for the night in here," Jennifer mused as Enji looked around the cabin. From the looks of things in the place, it was clear that no one had stayed in this cabin for a long time. But despite being long-abandoned and neglected, the wooden structure remained in a remarkably good condition.

"How much time do we have left until it darkens completely?" Enji asked. Jennifer raised her hand to glance at her wristwatch.

"Give or take, I'd say about two hours or so..." the American girl replied.

"That window over there and this door doesn't seem too weak. I think they'll be useful," Enji said after examining the door leading to a room in the cabin, as well as the window in the room.

"Just enough time to get ready for the night," Jennifer added, a confident smile on her face. "I suppose it was good fortune I still remembered the contents of the U.S. Green Beret Field Survival Guide I read the other day. I don't suppose you have any supplies on you, Enji?" Jennifer asked as she reached into her bag

"Otherwise, we'd probably have to go without dinner... or we can go forage for something edible in the woods; in the meantime, I'll see what I can do to further strengthen the windows and doors," Jennifer said.

"Two hours..." he thought aloud "It's enough time to head back.". He finished his quick inspection and heads through the main door back outside. The door creaked again as he went past it. "This old cabin needs some oil in the door's junctions too." he mentioned and waited for her outside.

"This old cabin needs some oil in the door's junctions too," Enji commented as Jennifer went outside to scrounge up some materials she might require; although the American girl paused upon hearing the boy's comment on the door.

"Well, it seems like we're in luck..." Jennifer replied as she noticed among some junk and debris left behind by the cabin's last inhabitants included a can of WD-40. The lavender-haired girl shook the spray can, and was pleased to learn that there was still some of the lubricant left. "That oughta take care of the squeaking," Jennifer commented after spraying the WD-40 on the door's hinges, taking note to herself to check the cabin more thoroughly.

"This can be used to jam the door's handle and bar it from the inside," the girl commented as she picked up an old broom from the floor. "That should make it harder for whoever might want to barge in during the night..." Jennifer put her knowledge on field craft into practice, and it was hard to believe that she had gained all the survival skills of a Green Beret simply by reading up on it in a book.

"And these rags could make for a suitable kindling material," Jennifer ran the point of her left foot through a pile of discarded strips of cloth. "Now there, I think here's where we divide our work... you help to gather some firewood, and I'll go snoop around nearby to see if I can find something for dinner."

"We don't need to stay," Enji replied. "I just came for a quick inspection and I got to return home to tell my brothers and sister about he cabin." Jennifer's head cocked towards the right. So much for all her Green Beret survival skills... but the boy made a good point - they had enough time to make it out of the woods if they made a run for it. As far as she was concerned, getting out of the woods beats trying to spend a night there anyway, for all her confidence in her knowledge she wasn't exactly keen on putting them to the test in this kind of situation.

"If we make a dash, we'll be out here before the sun sets completly, I guess... Ready?" Enji proposed that they leave.

"As ready as can be," Jennifer replied, her smile widening into a grin.

"Go!" he said and began his dash out, toward the same path they came through. He knew the path because... Well, he associated a moment of the song he had been listening to to a certain part of the path. That was HOW he used to remember complicated things. Lyrics and notes for each second of a walk.

"Go!" As soon as she heard Enji's cue Jennifer broke off into a sprint, following the boy along the path they took earlier to get to the cabin. He may have gotten a split-second head start, but the lavender-haired girl was no slouch in the athletics department as she drew level next to Enji, keeping in pace with him with a confident smile on her face.

After enough time, they were out the forest. Luckly, it has only darkened when they had completed 5/6 of the way out the forest. He looked to the sky and said "Well, we did it out... Not before it darkened, but before we could possibly get lost.".

Jennifer panted and breathed heavily as they made their way out of the forest - they weren't exactly out of the woods yet, though. The sky had already darkened, but at least they had reached the outermost reaches of the forest, a part where they won't lose their way. The American girl could see the break in the woods, and the light from the lamps that illuminated the concrete footpath that ran along the forest's borders.

"Well, we did it out... Not before it darkened, but before we could possibly get lost." Enji said.

"We sure did," Jennifer replied, tired but elated. As far as her Asian relatives were concerned, the more superstitious ones had always warned her that when passing through an area that is infested with spirits - and these woods were clearly what they believed was rich in 'Yin' forces that attract malevolent entities - it was not a good idea to look back. Although Jennifer could care less and looked back, into the deeper parts of the woods they had left far behind.

"Whoa..." Jennifer gasped as she noticed a few pairs of glowing red eyes in the shadows of the trees. But whoever - or whatever - those eyes belonged to, the creatures remained in the deep woods, refusing to venture to the outer parts of the forest near the footpath. "I'm not sticking around to find out what they are..." the lavender-haired girl commented.

"Come on Enji, let's go."

"Don't tell me you're afraid of ghosts?" he said, still with his fox-like smirk. Ok, now this was creepy: In the middle of the night, he's there, smirking like those mischievous fox spirits always mentioned in ghost stories all over japan. He then began walking away from the forest and said "We might not see each other until the full moon cycle is over..."

"Don't tell me you're afraid of ghosts?" Enji asked, still wearing his fox-like smirk. Now that was rather creepy, Jennifer had to admit, especially with how he was smiling like a kitsune and standing there with those evil-looking red eyes in the backdrop.

"Me, scared? Ha!" Jennifer responded with a wide grin, pointing to herself with her right thumb. "I just happened to be in a forgiving mood today, so I decided to leave them in peace... or else I'd just head back there and kung-fu their asses into the next century!" Strangely enough, the eyes vanished after the American girl made her remark.

But enough was enough, and the two of them left the forest, walking away from it. "We might not see each other until the full moon cycle is over..." Enji said.

"Hmmm?" Jennifer asked. "How come?"
