It was early. Very early. And absolutely bloody freezing. But Corey could not have been any happier. She had purposely dragged a rather sleepy Frank out of bed at such early hours simply because she wanted to take a walk through the beautiful grounds surrounding the school. And what more romantic time was there than 5 am? Well, she thought so anyway. The meadow was totally deserted and a fine mist hung in the air which was crisp and chilly against their exposed skin. Dew was building up on the patches of wildflowers and the grass was lush and slightly wet from the cold. Everything seemed so fragile and beautiful in the early hours of morning. It wouldn’t stay like this for long though once students started waking up and heading down to the area to practice their powers... Which is why Corey wanted to come at this time. No matter where you went in this school there was always someone hanging around. But out here she could be totally alone with Frank, and still in such a beautiful surrounding. The sun hadn’t risen yet, but the first few rays were beginning to light up the sky, slowly bringing the morning about. It really was a picturesque scene. “So.” She said quietly with a laugh, subconsciously afraid that if she spoke too loud she would break the tranquility. “Tired yet? Sorry again for dragging you out so early…” She had spent most of the walk down here apologizing over and over again. “But isn’t it just such a beautiful morning?” she flashed a smile at him, giggling as her breath came out all frosty. She had a few layers on under her thick jacket and stockings under her jeans. Her hair was in two plaits and covered by a warm beanie. But despite it all she was still really cold. With a grin to herself she walked closer to Frank and a little nervously took her hand out of her pocket and reached out to entwine her cold fingers in his, her other hand absent mindedly fiddled with her music note charm. Playing with her gift from Frank got her thinking… In so many ways he was the perfect gentleman. And yet he had such a defined wild streak in him… She loved hanging with him as well as Noah and Oliver as friends, but also places like this as something more. She felt like they were best friends, and yet she hardly knew anything about him. So in an attempt to get to know him better she brought up a topic she had been curious about for a while. “How did you and Noah meet, Frank? And what about Oliver?” She looked up into his eyes and smiled, taking a second to decide to voice what she was really thinking. After a pause she said, “How is it that we spend so much time together and are pretty close when I hardly know anything about you?” She stopped walking and came around infront of him, still holding onto his hand. “Well?” She demanded playfully. “Come one, Frank Iero. Tell me about yourself. We’ve got all morning.” She tugged on his hand and laughed, shivering slightly against the cold. But the huge smile on her face totally gave away that she wouldn’t rather be any other place in the world. |

The few rays that broke the horizon trickled through the cracks on the leaves shadows of the brush surrounding the dirt path they were trekking on. Frank peered squintly at his surroundings as he shivered slightly into his navy puffed vest. He had on a sweater underneath and red plaid button-up. It was really layers upon layers that he was wearing. And ontop of his mussy brown hair was beanie that sagged at the end a little. He looked like a silly mountain boy. But still thrown together and cute. The only difference was he really hadn't been looking when he dressed himself. He was practiclly in the dark, when Corey burst in his dorm and yanked him out in only his boxers. Oliver had been nice enough to throw some threads his way as the left. He blushed irr He blushed irrationally, hoping she didn't think anything of his racecar skivies. Frank looks down at this abdomen and notices Noah's Minolta hung around his neck. Funny, he didn't remember grabbing that when he left. Looking at the old camera. he examines the lens and dial. seeing that film was still in it. He liked taking photos, but honestly was not good as his practiclly twin sister was. He absently mindedly holds up the camera, looking through the view finder, as he walks fallowing Corey along. It was like another world through here so i very bundled Corey was seen leading the way until they hit the meadow. "Its alright, i think i was half awake anyways..you, don't need to apologize so much," He laughs half-heartedly, as they continued and ended up near a tree stump. His warm hazel hues gaze across at her, she really wasn't much shorter than he was. A couple of inches perhaps, but within a slightly leaned kissing distance. He tried to shove the almost embarresing idea out of his head now, because she was rapidlly asking him some questions. Frank stood thoughtful for a few seconds, tinkering with the old model. Something from the early 70's, and reached into the depths of his ever circulating mind; conjuring up a few memories that would help her understand more. "Well, you see..I meet Noah a little while after i first got here, she had been around for like, 6 months, and had like no friends. In fact, when we met, we didn't like each other very much," He chuckles recalling that night on the roof. How long ago it had been. And so young they seemed. "We butted heads, i guess because we were so opinionated," He continued, "but in the end, i think it was that that attracted us to each other. We were so similarly stubborn, and so alike. it was kind of scary, but we stuck with each other because mostly..we felt alone here." He turns and looks at Corey. The mood was a bit more serious, and a bit sad. He hoped she wouldn't feel sorry for him. He didn't want pity from others, because of his hard outer shell. "Oli, i met him when i still lived in the United States, before i became mutated. We hung out alot, because he was in a band in High School at the time. It was still 13 then, so i was alot younger than everyone else i hung out with.. Do you remember when i told you He doesn't age?" He shrugged as he sat against the stump. He looked her, trying to read her expression. "..My past wasn't a very happy one, at one time. And thats how i got my..power i suppose." He looked out across the horizon, the sun beginning to rise up slowly, as bird in the forest nearby chirpped intsesently. "Come to think of it, i guess that's why i came here, to forget about everything over there." He heaved alittle sigh, it was one that you would probably do if you came to a sudden realization. Like he had just now. "But, you know being here makes me glad i met someone like you. I feel myself around you, not this, gaurded tough kid i've always been. It kind of like it." He smiles softly at her. "But you're right, we really don't know much about each other, so... why don't you tell me more about yourself Corielle?" He teases as he plays with her dirty blond strands. He liked the way her hair felt, soft and delicate, because it was thin, but he like that. He knew she'd grumble when she heard her full name, but he threw it out there anyways to lighten the once sort of somber mood. |

Corey was having a hard time not laughing at him. He looked ridiculous. But so cute! Most of her morning had so far been spent with a big grin on her face. Like the kind someone has when they’re trying really hard not to laugh at a funny memory. At least Oliver had had the sense to give Frank something decent to wear before she dragged him out into the freezing cold… She was trying to keep up with Frank’s story, and kept interrupting with more little questions. “Why didn’t Noah have friends when you came? She’s such a lovely girl!” She found it hard to believe that the two had such trouble with each other at first; Corey had always known them to be like twins. She wasn’t sure what Frank wanted her to make of the situation as he threw a glance at her as if waiting for her reaction. She sighed, taking in the much heavier mood. She knew him well enough to know he wasn’t much of a pity-seeker, but she still felt a little sorry for the two. Oli’s story was strange… “Oliver was in a band?” She asked incredulously. She never would have pictured that… She did remember being told that he doesn’t age… but she didn’t really understand it. “What’s the story with Oliver not ageing? I don’t get it. He’s really hard to understand.” She was more confused than anything now. She joined him on the stump and sat quietly with a peaceful smile on her face as she listened to him talk. She was glad he was happy now, it sounded like he had had a rough time getting here. “How did you get your power?” She asked curiously, picking up on the fact that he hadn’t explained that section of his story at all. She huffed playfully when he said her full name and straightened her back defiantly. But found it hard to keep pretending she was mad as he played with her hair. It felt nice, not only that he was playing with her hair (which she loved) but also that he was so close to her. She turned her head slightly to look at him and realized just how close his face actually was. “I don’t want you to be the tough guarded kid with me. I like you being yourself.” She reassured. Catching her breath she snapped her head to the front and looked ahead, focusing on his questions. “Well what would you like to know?” she asked lightly, thinking for a moment. “I’ve never had any permanent friends really.” She began thoughtfully. “I’ve spent most of my life travelling, you see. My parents split when I was really young and ever since I’ve spent alternate years with each. Of course, it wasn’t the most convenient plan, seeing as my father lives in Australia and my mother lives in whatever country she feels like it. So my relationships with people my own age tended to only last a few months at the most.” She said with a shrug. It was all she had ever known so it wasn’t too much of a big deal. “Sometimes it seems the ideal life; I’ve seen so much of the world and learnt such different ideals with two totally different parents. But it’s been so nice to settle in one place.” She smiled, subtly leaning into Frank a little. “Hopefully my new relationships will last more than a year this time around. It’s been nice meeting people I don’t have to rush with. Instead of only having a month to get to know as much about you as possible, I get the feeling that we are going to have a lot more time.” She said, blushing slightly. Even if it was just as friends, Corey was looking forward to her new life with the people she had met here. Especially Frank. |

Frank raises the camera at Coreille, staring into the view finder. She was sitting on the stump, facing outwards toward the field; her steamlined nose was rosy at the tip. He smiles silently and takes a candid photo, hoping she won't mind. "Uhm, your looking a bit cold dollface.." He says sheepishly as he shrugs his vest off and places it on her shoulders. It looks a little big on her, but to him she looked very cute in his clothes. It was an image he hoped would become a constant. "Well, Noah? She was very subjective on coming to this school from the beginning. Her dad sort of dropped her here and went after the people she gave her the 'mutation' she has now." He says this with little qoute fingers. "She rarely hears from him, and was afraid of hurting the people around her, so I suppose that's why she had a hard time making friends in the beginning. People thought she beautiful, until they overwhelmed her, in which she in turn would end up mincing into their skin...on accident of course." He shrugs chuckling it off, hoping she isn't scared. For reassurence though, he adds, "She is virtually a harmless girl, with a golden heart. And then we got along for the better cause, she is an amazing best person. Noah.. is, a true friend you know?" He turns to her, smiling a wickedly cute crooked grin. "Oliver, is like my best man. He is a very simple guy on the outside, but it oh so very complicated on the inside. Sometimes, i don't even know whats going on inside his head. But the whole imortal thing, is just one of his powers. He has a whole slew of other ones, besides his goreous model looks," Frank rolls his eyes playfully. "He's an accelerated human. Like a super human, as average as he looks. He can lift about as much as i can, hit as hard as i can, and most definately can run way faster than any human. It weird though, he has alot of bodily complications as well, like he has to eat certan things, and stay out of sunlight. He's almost indesdructible, yet in subtle ways also vunerable. And that's how his personality is too," He laughs, "Have you ever noticed the way he looks at Noah? I swear, you'd think he's in love with her or something. He has like this protective attachment for her. It's quite ammusing actually." "But I mean, Me? my story isn't anything special, I used to go get tested for all sorts of products and medications. And then one day, I just got sick, and it wasn't until long after that my parents and doctors realized something was wrong with me. I'm really..nothing special. And that time was real bad for me, but It's all good now, I guess." He turns to look at her in response to what she said about wanting him to be his true self around her, but is caught off gaurd when she is only a few centimeters from his face. Frank's beige cheeks flush up softly, though it honestly could have been the nippy air, the thought to himself. Corey's lips were within his reach, had be been bold enough to plant one a soft kiss. It was an intense brief moment of silence. Though it could have been an entire eternity. His eyes rested on hers as she stared back softly. There was nothing more he wanted than to... But as quickly as it had happened, it had ended with Corey ripping her gaze away from his. Looking outwards again. He exhaled a small sigh, and whiped out a pack of menthols lighting one up in one quickly motion. "Uhm..I hope you don't mind," he says inhaling the chemicals into his lung cavities. It was honestly ironic that he was killing himself faster than he was already dying, for secretly, his "mutation" was doing the very same. They stood side by side on the stump and he places the camera in between them "Hey, I know, how about to us?! Let's take one of us together," He suggests as her leads her away from the stump timing the camera as he puffs away at his cigarette. After focusing it, he hits the shutter button, ashes the butt and runs over to Corey, who is standing opposite the dead tree stump. The camera clicks as the two some posed facing the rising run, giving them a warm colored tint. "I hope it came out alright. It is brighter now, after all.." He says as they walk back laughing. "Tell me more about yourself, like your favourite color, likes dislikes, music whatever. I want to hear everything about you, silly girl!" He was in a bit of a chipper mood now, since it was nice to know that there was a steady friendship going on here, though secretly he hoped for it to turn into something more. |
