"Get him! Get him! HIM TOO!" As usual, Akane was up to no good again. With her new red Brigade leader sash wrapped around her right arm, she was here in the hallway spreading word of her new club and getting started in recruiting people. The short blue eyed beauty was standing in the middle of the busy hallway, tossing out fliers advertising the LOL Brigade at students that walked by. Akane would point to an especially rich or good looking boy that would walk by and her timid and shy older sister Chiaki would immediately do her bidding. The Lolitas of Loveliness Brigade, or more commonly known as the LOL Brigade, is a club idea Akane recently came up with when she thought about ways to control the school populace. Technically, it's supposed to be an art club, but actually inside Akane's mind, the club was her means of getting followers and slaves to do her wicked bidding. In Chiaki's arm was a booklet of stickers, little strips of red with black letters that said "You're In!" The shy sister would awkwardly label the students Akane pointed out, despite if they actually wanted the sticker stuck on them in the first place. For now, the LOL Brigade only consisted of two members, Akane and her sister who was forced to join. It was going to be only a matter of time until a hall monitor or a teacher would eventually come to end all of this madness. But until then, Akane was free to do whatever she wished, labeling more and more students that walked by, chucking fliers at them that only said, "LOL BRIGADE. Join now for the fun." |

James was walking down the hall, loosing his tie as he felt would stop breathing, when he say the two girls passing fliers. He hadn't been in any extracurricular club, but he thought he'd check it out. He picked up a discarded flier from the ground and read, but kept walking, almost walking into the tall girl with the stickers. He some how managed to dodge her just in time, but he still walked into the shorter girl. All he said in reply was "Sorry," and would have walked of, if he hadn't looked up from the flier. He saw the red band and chuckled and said, "Another brigade Haruhi?" His thought that he would probably regret that remark. Edited by Pudding437, Mar 28 2009, 10:46 AM.

The taller Takeda sister with the ponytail shrieked as James was about to walk into her, side stepping to dodge him as he was dodging her, successfully preventing another embarrassing accident. Chiaki was okay with embarrassing herself, as long as it wasn't in front of Akane, especially right now when the very name of the club is in stake if she messed up. The LOL Brigade was meant to be perfect like it's president. James obviously saw where most of Akane's inspiration came from, as most of the other people that walked by. In fact, a lot of the other students found it slightly adorable that Akane was cosplaying Haruhi, but she wasn't. The blue eyed lolita pouted and glared at James, holding back her fliers and turning her head to the side pompously, "Well, you wouldn't get in anyways, you're not cool enough. CHIAKI! THAT ONE! HIM! I like HIM!" Chiaki immediately nodded and stuck a sticker on the guy Akane called out. |

James gave a small smile. He was used to this sort of treatment, but it was usually because of his powers. He smirked as he thought up a few more insults to come back with. "I wouldn't give a damn either way. What would this club do any way? Stand up classes or searching for the paranormally hilarious?" He thought would at least make her eyes pop out. Suddenly, his eyes started to water, as his contact started to sting. It was a new brand from Japan, and it obviously had chemicals his eyes weren't used to. He took out his contacts quickly and wrapped them in a tissue and put them in his pocket. Out of his shirt pocket he pulled out a pair of rimless glasses and put them on, his amber eyes multiplied in size. Edited by Pudding437, Mar 28 2009, 11:15 AM.

She didn't need to respond to him. She shouldn't respond to him. She didn't want to respond to him. She did. "If you MUST know, my LOL Brigade is going to be accomplishing greater goals than just finding things that are paranormal, it's going to be the coolest thing this school has seen, and EVERYBODY'S gonna want to join. Too bad you won't eve-" Akane turned her gaze to look at James when he put his contacts away, putting on glasses that made him look like a chibi character gone wrong. The lolita president of the brigade couldn't help but laugh, her hands holding her chest as she laughed hysterically at James. She was a total bitch, but by now, everybody knew she was so she didn't mind at all that she was being so publicly mean to James. "Hahahahaha! Who would care about what you give a damn with eyes like those! hahahahahaha!" Chiaki, who was on the other side of the hall handing out fliers frowned at the sight of her sister's cruelty and rushed back over to her side. "Don't be mean Akane, you wear glasses too sometimes." Akane immediately stopped and glared at Chiaki. "Go back to stickering people please." She instructed with a powerful tone of voice as her older sister nodded and walked away, back to sticking red stickers on people. ((Yay 100 Posts!)) If you MUST know, my LOL Brigade is going to be accomplishing greater goals than just finding things that are paranormal, it's going to be the coolest thing this school has seen, and EVERYBODY'S gonna want to join "Yet you still haven't given me and answer. Which I normally take as, you don't know." The shine from his eyes seemed to dull down a bit, and seemed to draw in light. He was used to having comments about his glasses, and he took them in his stride. He had to wear them, other wise he would only see th wall when his nose had been flattened. He had very bad short sightedness. "Well, that is completely your own opinion and you are entitled to it." His smirk grew again. Don't be mean Akane, you wear glasses too sometimes James smiled as the tall girl went back to stickering people. "You should listen to your sister, it isn't the best ides to be nasty to people. And I'd like to see you wearing glasses." He did a Kyon impression and started to walk off. |

Akane pouted and glared at James again when he pointed out that she in fact has no idea what her cool club is going to be doing. "Nooo! I know what it's going to do! But I don't need to tell the likes of you, you're not cool enough to ever join, why don't you go back and play your pokemons or something." As mean as Akane can get, sometimes just because she's so small she almost looks more adorable than intimidating when she insults someone. She turned her head pompously once more, closing her eyes as she remained pouting, not looking at James. "Hmph!" she said as she clutched onto her fliers. Akane opened her eyes again just in time to catch his Kyon impression before walking off to hand someone else a flier. "What a big loser." She said as he walked away. |

"CHIAKI! THAT ONE! HIM! I like HIM!" Ikkaru paused to search for the source of the shouting, but was surprised when he instead received a red adhesive badge on his arm. Not one to become immediately annoyed with such a gross invasion of personal space, he took a moment to admire the shiny, ruby surface and the black, bold lettering that declared his immediate acceptance into... something. By the time he raised his steel-grey eyes back up to look at the student that had sticker'd him, she was already off to stand timidly next to another, more assertive girl. Though the two of them were clearly distinct personalities, his instincts told them that there was a relationship there that wouldn't be immediately obvious. Perhaps they were old friends? Often enough in Japanese lore, manga more specifically, there was often a situation where a dominant personality would befriend a meek individual under the guise of being charitable, when in reality they are only allowing them around to feed their own sense of self-importance and egotistical superiority. "I wouldn't give a damn either way. What would this club do any way? Stand up classes or searching for the paranormally hilarious?" 'Hm,' Ikkaru thought to himself, 'it would appear not all are happy with this blatant blitz of adverts.' Another young man, a little shorter than Ikkaru, was having a small dispute with the dark-haired girl, who was busy trying to ignore him while at the same time insult him. It was a tactic he had seen often, and was a popular trick of the upper echelon of school society. Chiaki's friend was trying very hard to be popular, though for what reason, he couldn't even begin to understand. Regardless of the reason though, she had seen fit to recruit Ikkaru into whatever club she was trying to start, which was somewhat flattering. Though he was no longer technically a resident of the campus, he certainly looked the part, standing roughly six feet tall, fluffy white hair, and a kind, youthful face that could pass for either a young 12th or older 11th grade student. Ikkaru held back for a moment, waiting for the right moment to make his presence known to the trio. The bossy girl made a few snide comments once more about the young man, then the pink-haired girl mumbled something about glasses to the leader. Akane, suddenly, turned away in a huff after one final spat with the young man, which Ikkaru used to finally get her attention. He slipped in step next to her, and smiled shyly as he gave a weak wave. He was careful to ensure that he was showing off the sticker on his arm before he spoke. "Um, excuse me, but d'you mind if I have one of those flyers?" His smile grew a little wider once he made initial contact. "I'd like to join your club, if you're still accepting." why don't you go back and play your Pokemon's or something This was a bad idea to say something like this to James. He was a hardcore gamer, and a lover of anime and manga. But nobody should consider James a fan of it. He turned slowly to the girl, with his eyes looking as if they had been lit on fire. It was a low blow. "You dare consider me a fan of that scum bag Tajiri, who couldn't draw to save his life. Me, someone who couldn't draw things to life, looking up to that idiot?" He fists started to clench. He didn't notice that she had called him a loser, but not that it would matter. He was as angry as if she had called him English. "I am far more advanced than he is, and I shall prove it." He pulled out his sketch pad and started drawing furiously. It was quicker than usual. It was finished in what was like seconds. He showed the drawing to her as the drawing started to lift itself off the page. It was a European dragon, with scales black as coal. It flew off the page and flew around the hall breathing fire, as it slowly grew larger. When it stopped growing it was about 20 cms from head to tail. It landed on James' shoulder and gave akane an evil eye. |

Much as James's powers can be destructive and intimidating, his speech about the artist of pokemon just made it too boring and nerdy for Akane to even pay attention in. Even if she did pay attention to the whole thing, she would have laughed at James again when he pulled out his sketchbook in an extremely dorky fashion and doodled in her face as if it was going to scare her. About when he mentioned scum bag, Akane just completely lost interest in what he wanted to say and instead grinned brightly at a potential member who was waving his stickered arm. "Oh! Yes ofcourse! Please take one! You're definitely accepted!" Good looking guys were one of the requirements for her cool LOL Brigade. What kind of a cool club would she be running if it didn't have hot guys? Chiaki on the other hand turned her focus to James, curious of what he was doing. One of the main reasons why Akane inducted Chiaki, was because she knew that her older sister is totally kick-ass in martial arts, meaning that Akane had additional muscle to back her scathing words now. A body guard that would be with her at all times, one that wouldn't require a phone call. Both of the sisters had probably the same amount of training in self-defense, the minimal amount of judo that was incorporated into their daily training back in Nagano, but because Chiaki wielded a heavier weapon and trained longer everyday, she had more strength than Akane. As Akane passed another one of her poorly written fliers to Ikkaru, she suddenly felt a warmth brush her back as the miniature dragon flew behind her from James's sketchpad. Realizing that it was probably something hostile, Akane decided to immediately turn around to see what was happening, and as her eyes laid on James's dragon on his shoulder, the little blue eyed beauty fell into laughter again. "Hahahahaha! I didn't seriously mean take out your pokemans!" Akane was smart enough to tell it was a dragon, but she just couldn't let that joke by. Chiaki sighed and started walking up to Akane, already imagining that this was going to get ugly fast. Edited by FairlyFairyPrincess, Mar 28 2009, 12:31 PM.

I didn't seriously mean take out your pokemans She had set fire to the fuse suggesting that he was a fan of Pokemon, now the bomb had gone off with the mention of him owning them. James' eyes narrowed and the dragon immediately lunged forward and grabbed hold of the girls left ear. It hung on with all its might and started to flap it wings, trying to lift her upwards, with minimal success. It jaws started to tighten as it felt its grip loosening. "I hope you apologise for the remark." His eyes were unblinking. |

Ikkaru displayed a pleased smile when she handed him a flyer, and as he surveyed its contents his eyes glimmered with amusement. Even from a cursory glance he could see several gramatical errors, which might not have bothered him if they weren't printed as the largest text on the paper. He was so engrossed by the humor he found in the mistakes that he didn't even notice when the dragon literally leaped from the scratches and scribbles of the young man's booklet. It wasn't until a few seconds after he felt the heat of an open flame on his neck that he remembered that fire in a school was a bad thing. He turned to look curiously at the reptile, which was precariously perched on the antagonist's shoulder. It was an interesting sight, certainly, but for someone like Ikkaru and all that he had been through, it wasn't terribly shocking. After a few moments of blankness of mind, a small thought prodded his brain back into working order. 'Oh, wait... I'm supposed to be a student,' he remembered fitfully. He folded the paper into quarters, stuffed it into his pocket, then did the honorable thing, as per usual. He took a few jogging steps forward, then batted the dragon away. "Gah! Shoo!" With minimal effort on his part, the creature was dislodged, and Ikkaru placed himself in front of the two girls, between them and the ember-spewing creature. Granted, at AHS, girls could fend for themselves, but any male student worth his salt knows that scoring points with the ladies makes campus life easier. He turned his head once more to look at Akane, recalling her name from when Chiaki had first mentioned her glasses, and checked her ear to make sure it was alright. He held up his hands placatingly, then looked back to the young man with a friendly smile. "Woah, woah, there guy," Ikkaru said, his voice neither too high or too brusque, trying to find that neutral middle that made negotiators so good at their job. "Look, sorry about your feelings, but let's not get to hasty here, yeah? If you start using your powers to attack, then other people are gonna use theirs, and it just turns into one giant of pile rubbled school." He lowered his arms slowly, as if encouraging the artistic beastmaster to lower his temper. "How about we take the hostility down a couple of notches, yeah?" Edited by Icarus, Mar 28 2009, 12:55 PM.

"Ow!Ow!Ow!OW!OW!" Akane shrieked as both her hands reached up to the dragon and tried to keep her ear in one piece, pulling the dragon down as it tried to yank her delicate ear upwards. Ikkaru then batted the sketch-spawned lizard away, freeing her ear from its grasp, the pain immediately going away leaving a remnant of tenderness in her ear. Chiaki probably could have done the same, but she was too scared by the idea that she might rip her sister's ear off, so she just cowered away from the scene. Fortunately for James's sake, Akane stopped whining after Ikkaru got rid of the dragon for her, charmingly turning to see if she was okay as she rubbed her hands onto her soft ear, gently massaging it to ease the tenderness. The brigade's president's whine and whimpers were quite distinct in the school, and since she does have some renown and connections to some powerful males, it wouldn't have been too surprising if some badass senior came out to fend for the bitch of a freshman. It was extremely unfair for James, but that's how popularity works. Akane looked up cutely at Ikkaru with her big blue eyes as Chiaki stepped closer to inspect her sister's ear, seeing that she was bleeding a little from where the dragon was biting. "Man that pokemon hurt! You don't have to go sending your pokemans at me just because you're not-" Akane was interupted by Chiaki who hugged her to silence her. "That's enough Akane, don't be mean to him anymore." The taller pink haired girl was doing her duty as a sister and keeping Akane in check, releasing her and walking up to James and bowing politely to him. "Sorry, my sister is quite rude and I hope you forgive her for her words." Chiaki bowed once more before standing up straight again to see what his response was while Akane grumbled in the background. |

James blinked once when the dragon let go of the short girls ear, which meant a connection was broken and the dragon flew off to the nearest exit and out into the sunlight, promptly getting attacked by a murder of crows. James had taken off his glasses and was now cleaning them on his shirt. When he saw the other guy step between them he said, "sorry mate," and he hoped it was the last of it. Sorry, my sister is quite rude and I hope you forgive her for her words James met the pink haired girls gaze and nodded. His arrogant britishness kicked in so he refused to bow. "I am sorry the dragon hurt your sister, but I was trying to prove that my artistic skills are more advanced than Tajiri's." He looked down. "It was just meant to be decorative, but it got angry because I got angry. It wouldn't have attacked if your sister had kept her mouth shut. But I have met plenty like her before." He smiled. |

"I am sorry the dragon hurt your sister, but I was trying to prove that my artistic skills are more advanced than Tajiri's." Inwardly, Ikkaru scoffed at the idea that mere artistic skill could bring a creature that profound into the world without some sort of paranormal means. However, rather than create a bone of contention within this rapidly cooling situation. The less anger there was in a crowded AHS hallway, the safer everyone was in the short run. "It wouldn't have attacked if your sister had kept her mouth shut. But I have met plenty like her before." "... Okay, no." Ikkaru drew up to his full six foot height, then stepped past Chiaki to confront James. Normally, Ikkaru tended to avoid meddling in other people's affairs, but if what James had said about his dragon was true, then he certainly had a bone to pick with the artist now. "Listen here 'mate,'" Ikkaru spat derisively, "That's what we normally call a back-handed apology, and is considered very rude amongst most civilised circles. 'Course, being British, you probably didn't know that." Ikkaru was banking on the arrogance he had shown being partly derived from his upbringing, his English accent was easily extracted from his words, so it was only a matter of picking the right insult. "Normally, I wouldn't care what you say, but if making you angry causes your creatures to lose control, then you put all of us in danger, not just Akane-chan." His hard, grey eyes glared at James with an anger that smouldered deep within his chest, and the angry tension coiled enough to snap was evident by his clenched fists. "And that, I won't stand for. So tell me, do you have anything more you wanna say or do? 'Cuz if you've got an attitude problem, then I'll be more than happy to help 'correct' it." He let the threat hang in the air. He raised a hand and made a gesture that intimated he was just waiting for a reason to give James the old what-for. |

So tell me, do you have anything more you wanna say or do? James hadn't expected this guy to come into this. He wouldn't have done anything to this guy, if he didn't have the English accent. The one thing he hated more than being called a fan of Pokemon, it was the English. "D'ya know what?" his Scottish accent was creeping in at this point. "I do, you English b***ard." He smirked. James quickly to hold of the tall guys shoulders jumped and smashed his head against the other guys, in full "Glasgae Kiss" style. He dropped down and stummbled and aimed a kick straight for the other guys balls. He was hopefully lighter on his feet due to being slightly smaller, and also using his anger, which hadn't drained out, to beef up his attacks. |

James immediately went on the offensive, which was Ikkaru had almost hoped he would do. His methodology to fighting, however, was something that the young man did not expect. He lunged forward and took hold of Ikkaru's shoulders, then used his forehead as a weapon, smashing it against Ikkaru's in a vicious attack. When jumped back, much to James's dismay, Ikkaru showed only a tender redness where the hit had landed, which he rubbed gingerly. "Scrappy little guy, aren'cha?" A kick swept upward to smash Ikkaru in the croock of his legs, but it was halted as a hand shot down and wrapped a vice-like grip around James's ankle. Ikkaru looked at his opponent maliciously, then smiled. Without so much as a warning, Ikkaru used James's lack of momentum to his advantage, shot forward with a speed impossible for a human, and hooked the boy's neck in the bend of his elbow in a clothesline-like maneuver. Without even a grunt of effort, he lifted him by the neck bodily from the ground, then suddenly knelt forward to slam James's back against the hallway floor. His opponent down, Ikkaru pressed his knee into one of James's wrists, and grabbed the other with the same steely fingers. He lowered himself down to peer straight into his opponent's eyes, his mocking smile still firmly in place. "Welcome to AHS, bitch." With that last parting shot, he released James, stood, and walked back over to Akane with an apologetic smile. Every nerve was still on fire, his senses were alight with feeling, and as adrenaline coursed through his system, his reticent smile was having difficulty refraining from turning into prideful. He bowed deeply, apologizing for his actions. "I'm sorry, Akane-chan, I shouldn't have been so violent. Please, forgive me." |

James lay on his back groaning, before getting himself up on his elbows. He was awre of the people around him laughing, but he didn't care. Al he wanted to was kick the crap out of that english guy. He said in heavy gaelic, "May a pestilence plauge upon your guts, you english b***ard," (the last word was in english) as he stood up slowly. He staggered to his left using the wall as a support. James reached into his pocket and, with speed only matched that of a bullets, he pulledout a vey sharp pencil and threw it at the guys crotch, and hoped it would move fast enough for him not to know what had happened. James had little idea that his glasses were sitting crooked with the right lens cracked. Edited by Pudding437, Mar 28 2009, 02:35 PM.

"<May a pestilence plauge upon your guts, you english> bastard." Ikkaru felt his ears twitch as a word he recognized slipped into his mind. His instincts were going crazy, telling him that something was wrong, something bad was about to happen to him and he needed to be on alert. Ikkaru raised slightly from his bowed position and looked back at James just in time to see him pull his arm back to throw something. Time seemed to slow for Ikkaru as a horrible dilemma was placed before him. Whatever weapon the assailant had prepared, Ikkaru had only a few options to defend himself. First off, he could dodge it completely, but that would leave Akane vulnerable to the weapon and wound her unnecessarily. The second option wasn't any more pleasant, but it was the only one that fell under tolerable losses. The world returned to its normal pace, and Ikkaru twisted and fell to one knee just as the sharp, graphite-tipped missile was released from James's grip. It flew through the air with piercing accuracy, and embedded itself in Ikkaru's thigh without a sound. Ikkaru grunted in pain, his face clenched tightly with the effort of remaining upright. His right hand grabbed his thigh above the pencil, and his left hand held below it. With another painful hiss, he removed the utensil and gripped it with a shaking fist. Slowly, he opened his eyes and stared at James with a hatred only a privileged few have ever experienced. He tossed the pencil aside and stood, his leg protesting angrily as blood flowed from his wound. Ignoring it, he stalked over to James and grabbed him roughly by his shirt, pulling him up on to his feet so that Ikkaru could stare into his eyes and feel the full force of his rage. "Human," Ikkaru began, his voice deep with anger, pain, and a wrath almost otherworldly, as suddenly he began to speak in James's own language, "<I spare you now because I would not dirty this school's halls with your blood. The next time I see you, I will finish what I started. And next time, a fucking pencil won't stop me.>" His words were fluent Gaelic, and the sincerity behind them were not lost in translation. With a final shove, Ikkaru pushed James against the very wall he had been leaning against, then walked back over to the sisters. The white fabric of his left pant leg was now stained red with blood, yet he attempted to cover the majority of it as he smiled weakly at the pair. "I'm so sorry. I hope you'll still have me in the club. I'll find you later." With a final apologetic smile, he limped past them and down the hall towards the school's hospital facilities. As he retreated from the scene of the fight, he felt vindicated, as if his defense of the two had been warranted by the righteousness of chivalry, but at the same time, the full brunt of a death threat from one of his kind was not something that he should have made lightly. If his mother knew what had transpired, or what he had said, he was sure she would have been most disappointed in him. His Uncle, however, would have probably laughed at his injury then applauded his words. Ikkaru gave an unpleasant shudder at the thought. Edited by Icarus, Mar 28 2009, 03:44 PM.

I spare you now because I would not dirty this school's halls with your blood. The next time I see you, I will finish what I started. And next time, a fucking pencil won't stop me "How dare you dirty my language with your dishonorable tongue," James said in full Gaelic. He was used to having to speak in Gaelic if he wanted to insult someone, but this was the first time someone had understood it. When the guy let go his shirt, he slumped back on to the floor. He looked at the guys back when he left and all he did was gave him the finger. He was only half conscious just now, but he would be ready when the time came. He had stared down guys like him before. Thought they were only human, nothing like what James or that guy were. When James tried to stand, he got up right until he let go of the wall, then he slumped back down onto the floor. He decided to rest there until he could walk again, or someone he knew came to help him. He didn't look at the two girls, partly out of embarrassment, and partly because it hurt to turn his neck. |

While all of this happened, the Takeda sisters just stood there, watching the fight unfold in front of their eyes. Akane was too busy rubbing her scratched and slightly bleeding ear meanwhile Chiaki stayed away from the violence, being a pacifist herself. It felt a lot like watching a Final Fantasy battle, each boy taking a turn and attacking after another, Akane was kind of surprised that James didn't pull out another pokemon for his limit break. Akane grinned when Ikkaru still showed interest in joining her LOL Brigade even after getting a beating from James and nodded enthusiastically. As Ikkaru walked away, Akane leaned over to Chiaki and whispered her to sticker him once more, just incase he forgot. Chiaki promptly ran over and stuck another sticker lightly onto the back of his shirt before returning to Akane's side, turning her head to look at the beaten James with remorse and sympathy. Chiaki would have given James a sticker, but it was probably in his best interests to stay away from Akane anyways. She only sighed at the sight of the poor boy and stood next to Akane faithfully, waiting for further orders. The two girls were pretty silent as they waited for the crowd to clear. As soon as new people started walking down the hallway, Akane grinned and began throwing fliers at them again, "GET HIM! HIM TOO CHIAKI!" And just like that, the LOL Brigade was back on track, stickering strangers with their pretty red stickers. |

After a few minutes James made another attempt to stand, which was succesful. He took a few staggered steps to ward the twins and handed back the flier that was rolled up in his pocket. He took off his glasses and bowed to the girls. He decided that he couldn't hurt his pride any more. He said hoarsly, "I am sorry to have bothered you." He then stummbled off the way he had come from, heading towards his room, hoping not to bump into the guy again. Not until his wounds had healed anyway. He looked at his glasses and dropped them in the nearest bin, hoping he wouldn't get lost without them. |
