Well, there were a few people in Domino who dreaded when this day would come. Cars were in garages, lawn decorations were put away, everyone were in their homes with the exception of Murai and Lareli, who were outside at a table that was set up. Murai was looking at a few screens, all of which had outlines of Japan being shown, a stopwatch and gagues. The future Ms. Korikou however, was reading a bridal magazine for ideas. For a change, she wasn't grabbing her fiancee by the head and making him look at stuff inside while she swooned over it. The odd thing about them though, was that they were weighted down to their seats. Matter of fact, everything out there with the exception of what Li was reading as weighted down, or protected in some fashion. Well, their hair wasn't, both of theirs looked like a mess at that moment. Thankfully for them though, the weather was nice and warm, the sun was setting, and they knew they woudn't be out there for much longer. Li: "How much longer do you think this'll take?" Murai: "If I counted right, there's one more wave on it's way in a few seconds, then one last one after that." Li: "It's a good thing your neighbors understand that this is normal every year, huh?" Murai: "I'm just surprised that they haven't tried to run us out for it honestly. I almost feel bad for anyone out there right now, especially if they didn't know what today is." |

There was one other in the yard today. A white haired, red eyed girl who was becoming a regular in the household was sitting at the table with Li and Murai. Unlike the other female, however, she was reading a cooking magazine and ogling a particularly pricey set of cookware. She wouldn’t be teetering off to a shop any time soon to buy it though, there wasn’t really a need. Neo had equally as amazing things in his kitchen. Ideally speaking, she would have much rather he’d been there than outside running around Japan like it was midday sprint but who was she to stop him. Earlier the updrafts had provided a substantial amount of entertainment. Casting up her upwards to amazing heights as they caught the underside of her wings, but the fun had died quickly and she settled down to wait for the proverbial storm to pass. Thankfully a long time ago someone created the hair tie and gave females the inevitable ability to pull up ponytails in a moments notice. Meanwhile she had received quite a few calls from her sister who, at first, had been cursing Neo. Funny how now she was singing his praises for all of the business he was getting her. Of course this left her borderline overwhelmed with only Mercy and Melody at the shop but she wouldn’t complain, or even ask Diana to come back and help. Diana would have declined, naturally, as she was much too busy leaning over to look at Murai with a slightly anxious expression after hearing his answers for Li. “So remind me again why he does this?” |

Li was happy over one thing then. Months of being around her, and there was no more reactions from Murai from being around Diana now. In fact, he was able to have actual conversations with the girl now. "Well, you know people like him. He earned the title of the fastest man on the planet.... he's gotta train to keep that record...." Murai wasn't able to get more then that out, because one of the gauges started to ring out, as if something was coming. Li already knew what it was, as she folded her page and placed the magazine under her leg. *Here he comes... better brace ourselves down." Diana was unfortunately the odd person out, as both Murai and Li just hugged each other as the weighted chairs they were strapped in kept them from moving much. And soon afterwards, a blur just ran past the front of the manor, and another wild gust of wind blew past the three of them. Thankfully though, he was staying under the "creating a sonic boom" speed while in residential areas, but it was still enough to blow the table to the side. Li:"He's only got one lap around the country left, right?" Murai: "He better, I don't know how much more we can handle. Diana, you alright over there?" |

“He’s what?” Typically it was very rare for Diana to be shocked. Surprises just didn’t happen in her world but Neo was proving to break all of her predetermined rules. They were made to be broken anyway, right? Back to the topic at hand; fastest man on the planet!? Murai would need to run that by her one more time. The cat was having a hard time comprehending. Now lost in her stupor she failed to brace herself, or her reading material for Neo’s next pass. It flew off somewhere distant, probably got stuck on the fence or something. More amusing than that, her ponytail stood up on end and her expression could be described as ‘@_@’. Though it had nothing to do with the sheer power of the wind Neo was generating. Oh no, there was absolutely no place in her brain to even think about that right now. She was still mulling over Neo being the fastest man on the planet. When did this happen? How? Why hadn’t he told her before!? ”Diana, you alright over there?" “Eh?” She turned her head all too slowly to look at Murai. “Uh, y-yeah.” The turbulence had freed a small lock of hair from her ponytail and she made quick work of putting it back in proper position. “That man never ceases to amaze.” |

"You... didn't know?" Now it was Li's turn to be surprised at something. She knew about how fast Neo could honestly run from some of the test results and such that he and Murai did years back. Scary thing was, he seemed to be getting steadily faster as time went on, but it wasn't something that they had to be worried about. But as Murai pulled the table back to where they were sitting as the wind died down, he noticed that Diana just had a look of what seemed to be utter disbelief on her face. Murai: "Oh yeah, been like that for years now. How do you think Ryu had problems keeping up with him last year?" Li: "He's also not the kind of guy to flaunt that either, so I guess I can understand how he might have overlooked that." Murai: "But yeah, look at this.... he's passing Shinjuku now, and soon he'll be passing Kyoto, circling Osaka, then he'll head back and circle the Aomori Prefecture and Hokkaidō before coming back. And his last time for that lap was 2 minutes 23 seconds." Let's break down what he just said. Neo's circling cities at this moment... with nothing more then the shoes on his feet. And covering the distance in that short amount of time. And while Di was looking out of it, Li just patted her shoulder, like she knew shat she was going through. Cause she was dating the person who figured out how to track him accurately like this just in the shower one day. Li: "I know that feeling Diana, try being in love with a guy with a 228 IQ." Murai: "229 Li...." |

Li’s hand on her shoulder was comfortable in the same way someone’s might be at a funeral or after some other big loss. So not only was Neo the fastest man on the planet and she was the one dating him but she was also sitting next to a genius. The latter shouldn’t have been too much of a shock. She was used to Alex and her constant inventions… but she didn’t know if Alex had ever been subjected to formal testing. Something told her that would end with a bird flying and a nuclear f-bomb being dropped; got to love those family members. Alex wasn’t here though, thankfully. Diana’s face, despite all of her attempts was still displaying a grandiose amount of disbelief. Once upon a time she could have taken the news and not even flinched. To think she’d lost all of that training, such a waste. Coming in to a close second to all of this was Li’s remark about being in love and the tiny implications it held with it. It was a simple comment and surely Li never meant to cause any harm by it but it sure did make Diana fidget. Sitting in Neo’s yard she could feel her face heat as it turned five different shades of red. Changing colors really shouldn’t have been embarrassing for a shape shifter; she just prayed no one here could read her thoughts. Chancing a glance at Li and Murai she smiled slightly. She really shouldn’t be embarrassed, this, love, was natural but for some reason it still scared the hell out of her at times. Like if she closed her eyes for too long that Neo wouldn’t be there anymore and she’d be alone. It was like there was some deep rooted fear hidden in that head of her and she couldn’t put a rhyme or reason to it at all. Sometimes her lack of memory was very frustrating. “So is there anything else I should know?” And just like that Diana slipped back in to her typically curious old self. Moving back over a bit to get a better look at Murai’s screen she didn’t really understand what she was looking at but it was better than staring off in to space. Plus she refused to sink in to anymore dark thoughts, there were way too many things to look forward to. |

"Ummm...." Li had to think on that one. Tapping her finger against her lip, she was trying to think of anything that could be even remotely staggering to the normal person, but nothing was coming to mind at that moment. And thankfully for Diana, neither of them had any sort of mental mind reading abilities, though Murai could possibly make something along those lines, if he ever felt like it. All she could do was shrug her shoulders over that question, as she noticed that the other girl was looking at the monitor then. "Nope, can't think of a thing." Skip ahead a couple of moments, and that familiar gust of wind was beginning to pick up. "Uh oh, here he comes. Quick, brace yourselves!" Murai and Li had clinched onto the table this time, and there was more then adequate space for Diana to do the same. The gust passed by them just like the previous ones did, but this time there was a person standing in front of the manor, slightly slumped over while he was catching his breath. Dressed in a set of black sweatpants and sweatshirt, anyone could see the sweat rolling off of Neo's face at this point. But before long, he'd see a bag containing a fresh towel and a bottle of water land by his feet thanks to Murai, which was used to immediately cool himself down. Murai: "So, starting to feel rusty yet?" Neo: *breathing somewhat heavily* "You wish. Today's just the first day you know." Murai: "Yeah, but don't you think you're overdoing it? You don't usually go with that much until the third week." Neo: "Yeah well, I was feeling it today." Wait, what was he talking about there? Fortunately, Di wouldn't have to wait long for the answer. Taking off the sweatshirt, she would see an equally sweaty t-thirt underneath, but that was nothing compared to the joint and piston system that were around his arms, which also looked to hold several metallic bars along the frame. Murai tossed over a key, which Neo used to unlock three locks along his right arm. When the last one was released, the device fell to the ground, making a deep indent in the earth." Murai: "What was that, 100 along each arm, and 150 along the legs?" Neo: "Yep, 500 pounds all together. Not bad for the warmup. Oh, hey Di, hope all that just now didn't spook you much." Li: "Oh yeah... I forgot about that one. Sorry Diana." |

The few seconds it took Li to answer Diana’s question seemed to drag on for an eternity and when the answer finally came she could breathe a sigh of relief. Thank goodness for small favors? Diana thought skeptically to herself just as the wind began to pick up and like her cohorts she braced herself against the table. When the wind finally settled she turned to see a winded Neo trying to catch his breath. With a small smile playing on her face she had to wonder how his clothes weren’t ripped to shreds by the sheer force of his speed. Diana always did tend to let her mind wander. Thankfully there were enough people there to bring her back to the here and now. To think that Neo would be doing this again was enough to make her laugh. He made his extraordinary athleticism sound as normal as her dance classes. Her ears perked slightly as if she’d heard something strange. Watching Neo peel off his didn’t have the affect on her like it usually did, even if she could smell him from over there. The stuff he was wearing made him look like some strange bionic man. They weren’t the only thing to drop when Neo unlocked them. Diana’s jaw drop was unprecedented for the female. This was the girl that was rarely surprised yet as she heard how much weight Neo was toting along for the ride even she had to stop and take notice. The nervous laugh that coupled her words did little to playoff that she was completely at ease with all of this but in time Diana would come to accept it all as normal. “It’s okay; I’m more impressed than I anything.” Neo had missed Diana truly being spooked a while ago when she heard about his title. “Just don’t over do it old man.” Something told Diana that Neo would probably make for a horrible patient. |

Murai: "Wait a moment, old...?" Neo: "If you value your health, drop that right now." Murai: "Nevermind..." Diana had to remember, not everyone had heard the old man remark before. Only difference this time was, Murai knew Neo could seriously beat the crap out of him, and Neo knew Murai would just rest it all off in a matter of moments. Nonetheless, as he removed the other set of weights off his left arm and legs and returned them to the box that they were kept in, he was relieved that the weight was off his shoulders, as it was. Plus, he didn't pull a muscle this time, that was always a plus. "Ok, I think that's enough for today. Don't want to burn myself out already." That would probably be a relief to Diana's ears, and Neo already knew it was for the others. He was responsible enough to know when to call it quits at least, years of learning that fact kinda helped hammer that into his mind. Though, he wasn't getting anything ready for dinner tonight, they had agreed to have take out for a change Di though... well, she wasn't there for that vote. Li: "So, it was chinese for dinner tonight, right?" Murai: "Yeah, and give Diana the menu, we'll be up in a few moments." |
