Atreyu dropped his bag at the edge of the forest, hearing it fall and hit the rocky ground with a reassuring crumple and thump. He knew that the dirt on the ground was hard, but he had no problem believing that it would rain soon and turn the looseness into a muck. The sky was overcast, every trace of the beautiful fuschea sunset from before receding into the gray clouds and darkening sky. His eyes pulling away from the air above, the young pirate lord grasped his machetes and tracked on the ground, listening to the sounds of the birds calling and the motion of animals stirring for their night prowl. Ally would be joining him shortly and the two of them would be walking through the forest, maybe even toward Dragoon Mountain eventually, the weather pending of course. Would Ally actually stay the whole night too in the woods? Atreyu didn't know if she was the kind of girl that enjoyed camping out. Turning his bright crimson eyes toward the entrance of the forest where a small path led a winding way into the deeper woods to the right, Atreyu smiled. He wanted to explore more of the school, but wondered if Ally would search with him for clues as they searched together for her answers as well. Kicking some stones, Atreyu watched the shadows grow and the rumble of thunder in the distance. It made his heart anxious. Hard weather at sea was the worst condition. He hoped it was easier on land. |

Ally had stayed only a moment longer at the Blue Leaves before heading up to her room where she replaced her guitar in the stand next to the others, her fingers caressing the others who just asked to be played. Regretfully she didn't touch any of the others as she went to the closet and picked out a pair of shoes at random and slid her feet into them. As a precaution she snagged a hoodie and slipped it on over her head and after a glance out of the window she grabbed an umbrella as well and slipped it into her messenger bag and headed out of the door. She wasn't quite sure what she was in for since she had completely blanked out for part of the conversation, but she was sure it would be fun. It was a quick walk across campus and she was in the relative embrace of nature, the breeze much cooler now as it was getting later; ahead of her she could see the tree line. She wasn't quite sure where Atreyu was supposed to be. The forest was rather large. Unfortunately for Atreyu she spent some time wandering aimlessly, she enjoyed the walk and the experience but felt a little bad that she was taking so long. However she had yet to venture much beyond the grounds of the school and a few ventures into town. Quite some time after she'd entered the forest a slightly familiar hulk of a person could be seen ahead; she wasn't quite sure until she caught sight of the hair. It was rather rare that two people would have hair that color. "Hey!" She yelled to get his attention as she got closer. |

Atreyu didn't worry when Ally hadn't showed up promptly. He expected that she probably wanted to pack several things or even take a shower before living the night in the woods. He himself had spent the time rummaging around the grounds to find a good camping spot and also to don more clothing than he already had on. In addition to the long pirate coat he had on, Atreyu had also adopted a warm vest beneath it. He was just about to bend over to examine some interesting tracks in the dirt and leaves when he heard Ally's voice resound across the open air and hit the tall deciduous trees behind him, before coming back. Looking up, the young pirate smiled and admitted to himself that he was pleased to have company because it had been a long time since he had any interactions, especially an adventure! Atreyu had been so pleased that she agreed, he could barely contain his joy, though his rough and tumble exterior didn't hint anything aside from a lop-sided grin that usually unknowingly melted female hearts. "'ey!" Atreyu called back, waving his right arm, the left arm carrying a bundle of firewood he had gathered. He had dropped off his bag in the woods, not minding that no one was looking after it. Who would want to steal it? As he stood up taller, the Phylactery around his neck swayed and revealed itself behind his white tunic and black tank top. "Ye be lost? Ain't ye e'er been out and abo't these parts?" |

Ally had only been out of the city and suburbs on the rare occasion she got a slot at a summer camp; they were hard to come by and she had only ever been to three in her entire life. They were always magical times, filled with strange sights and sounds where they played games she had never heard of and did things you couldn't do in the confines of a city. Ally as of yet had no real experience with nature so the walk alone had been full of wonderful things she could only admire - like a piece of art. She didn't know the world as someone who lived amongst places that were wild and untamed by human hands. "'ey!" Atreyu called back, waving at her. "Ye be lost? Ain't ye e'er been out and abo't these parts?" Ally waved back and as she neared she smiled, "No - actually I haven't been off campus much," she admitted. She was close enough now to note that he was carrying firewood; puzzled but deciding he knew what he was about she didn't ask. "Do you need some help with that?" There wasn't a whole lot around them, which made her curious about what his plans were; he'd said some things about teaching her stuff, most of which had sounded so foreign and strange she could only trust that he was being truthful and honest. |

"Nah. I be al'ight," Atreyu replied with a thankful nod as he motioned for her to follow him to their spot. It was a couples minutes of a trek further north of where they had been. The northwest wind moaned and hissed through the still bare branches of the forest as it swept across the young man's face and into the dawning night. His thoughts feel to the hope that Ally had enough clothes to stay warm. There were a few blankets in his bag, but not much. If she really wanted to go back she could. He'd just have to walk her. "'ere we are!" Atreyu scuttled around the rocks that formed almost a natural pit and sitting area. He dropped the twigs and some dried out brush, which hadn't been hard to find, in the center of the stones before taking out some flint. In a way that had probably only been seen in movies from long ago, Atreyu snapped the stones together and a spark lit just enough to start a blaze. A warm flame began to grow, enveloping the twigs and already eating its way through the brush. Red light and black charcoal looking dust began to form, running along the sticks and stems like a bug, munching its way through flesh. "I be stakin' 'ere ternight if ye be wantin' ter stay. I's figurin' ye be wantin' ter know 'bout whatcha should be expectin' 'bout the sea an' all. What say ye?" |

Stepping a little quicker to catch up with the much taller boy she strode along with him through the forest, still much in wonder of her surroundings. She was looking in all directions at once, fascinated by all she saw. It wasn't really wilderness, but it was to her; the place where Lysander, Hermia, Helena and Demetrius meet with the faeries, or where men who turn into dogs roam. Blessed with an over active immagination she was walking those same paths in her mind as others had before her in story and myth. "It's lovely," she murmered at one point, her head craining up to gaze through the trees at the darkening night. She didn't quite know what Atreyu had planned; she hadn't really thought out the whole endevor. She was a smart child, but sometimes she wasn't the most discerning of creatures and while sensibility might have informed her that putting off this adventure until the next day, sensibility had been out today. Undoubtedly she would be upset later, but for now Ally was there, following quickly next to the hulking young man with the red orbes and matching fringe of hair, lost among her own thoughts and songs. It was a pity she had not at least brought her old guitar - but that thought was quickly out of her mind. "'ere we are!" Alright, so Ally had imagined he had taken up some sort of residence in a cabin or something, she had not expected a bare bones camp sight ringed with a few rocks. Blinking she looked from the rocks to the back of the young man and back again. As Atreyu went about starting the fire in a much awe inspiring way Ally found a spot that looked promising and settled on the ground, her back against one of the stones and watched him feed the fire, her mind running along many paths at once. "I be stakin' 'ere ternight if ye be wantin' ter stay. I's figurin' ye be wantin' ter know 'bout whatcha should be expectin' 'bout the sea an' all. What say ye?" Well there it was; her doubts removed. "Um," she seemed to be saying that word a lot to him lately. How unfortunate that a head full of so many words and lyrics should be reduced to a single, unintelligible word! "I've never slept outside of a room or a house before," she said slowly. Of course initially she was completely against the idea; it was different, and strange, and you saw people die in movies when they slept outside! But then again, people hadn't always had roofs, so ..... maybe? "Um, maybe? I duno, I didn't really bring anything with me - not that I'd need much but um... why not, right?" She said with a slight nervous smile. She was, afterall, out in the wildnerness, with a boy she hardly knew who was proposing an impromptu camping trip. The possible pitfalls of her decisions were just now beginning to dawn on her.... |

Although Atreyu's intentions were nothing more or less than the want of a new friendship, he knew that to an outsider's perspective, this situation probably looked very...planned; however, there was no stopping the young man now from trying to have a good time and enjoying the company while it lasted. Even if Ally never wanted to see him again, he would be fine with enjoying this evening talking and maybe even laughing. "'pologies fer sprin'in' it on ye," Atreyu started sincerely, opening his hands to her in a general sign of peace. He hadn't meant to take her unawares. The process in his mind had just been logical. "Ye be more 'an welcome ter leave if ye wish. I just be aimin' ter talk an' do some explorin' in the mornin' if ye willin." Shifting his weight in a n obvious gesture of anticipation, Atreyu leaned closer toward the very warm fire now, facing Ally and looking at her directly as he spoke so that his eyes, red as they were, appeared to reflect the depth of the night with a live fire crackling the colour around his pupil. "I 'eard o' a temp'le near the mountain. Shrine o' sorts and I aim ter investigate it some. I 'eard rumor there be these pow'rful spirits at the top and I be fixin' ter meet 'em tomorrer." It was an easy adventure enough. Climb the mountain, look for scary masked spirits, have a conversation and then come back down, right? Atreyu had no idea what to expect except the few mangled descriptions he had gathered from people and attempted to piece. Really he hadn't managed to talk to much of anyone before the whole idea started in his head that he should go. Atreyu often was reckless and quick to a result, so he wasted no time planning much of anything, which explained why he hadn't exactly informed Ally of the stay. The young pirate, happy as he was, was still wary of the woods and was keeping a mindful watch through his peripherals. The machetes were close enough to his waste to not warrant any trouble, but Atreyu knew that in the forest, things could get dangerous. It was perhaps, one of the places he thought was the most frightening on land. A person couldn't know what would happen in the woods, what animals would come to play or prey, and what weather worked its way to the roots of the trees. |

((OOC: Sorry - I just completly ran out of ideas for poor little Ally yesterday and I just sat and stared at this for a long time!!! So sorry if it's a bit short, I'm kinda winging it.)) Ally listened to his speel about being very spur of the moment and the forseeable adventures and whatnot. It sounded interesting, it was something she would probably never have done on her own, but with someone else acting as instigator she could have plenty of interest in these little adventures. He wasn't an alarming sort of person, he was just a little different and that was okay. Her mind wandered to their halted conversation from the Blue Leaves and she wondered what things he hadn't told her. She had to guess there was more in the closet than he had shared so far and that made her natural girlish curiosity perk up and she wanted to hear more of his story; as it stood so far it was a bit disporportional as far as how he knew more of her than her of him. "It sounds interesting," she said finally, her eyes enraptured by the flames dancing infront of her. "I'm up for it I guess," she shruged - her eyes never leaving the flames. There was just something about fire that was so attractive and alluring that held her attention captivated. At least it was until a twig snapped in the heat causing her to yelp and jump, looking around wide-eyed and panicked for who ever was of course attacking them. It might have been a good thing to know that she had only ever been close to one other open fire in her life, and that had not been a very long or up close experience so the fact of logs and twigs poping was completely foreign to her. In her poor little city girl mind, their lives were about to end. |

"No need ter be worryin'!" Atreyu remarked quickly after Ally's response. He smiled, laughing with his blazing eyes a the young woman who he had expected would be the type of female to enjoy the outdoors. Perhaps the girl was more suited, in her own mind, to the life of sports entertainment or shopping. Many women enjoyed shopping, Atreyu found. "It only be the fire workin'." As the brush was burned through and the smaller twigs were dying in an instant, Atreyu decided to add some of the larger logs to the fire. He set them gently, rather than throwing them as he usually did, so as not to frighten Ally anymore than she already appeared to be. Reaching into his knapsack, the young pirate lord removed a few blankets and walked over to her side, offering her one. He sat next to her and looked into the fire as well as he spoke. "Ye be scared fer the travelin'? Ye 'ave any special needs in the way o' food?" If Ally would be travelling with him and his family on their ship for an extensive amount of time then it would probably be good to get to know her before briefing her on some quick learning. He wanted to make sure that she was entirely serious about the whole thing because so far her actions dictated more of an indifference than anything. Surely Atreyu wanted to trust her, but there was so little here that he knew or had confidence in approaching, most of all people. |

"No need ter be worryin'! It only be the fire workin'." "So that's normal?" Yes, the poor girl was asking that dead-pan-seriously. While her lack of knowledge can be either comical or pitiful, you can't really fault the girl for her lack of pyro-expertise. After all, with the sheer number of children she was raised around and the very real danger of children playing with fire - it's probably a good thing she's so dumb about it. She watched Atreyu feed the fire, more aware of what was going on now out of interest, the serenity of the previous moment gone. She accepted the blanket thankfully and laid it, still folded, over her knees. It wasn't cold enough yet to tempt her to wrap up in it, but soon enough she would imagine she would really want it. "Ye be scared fer the travelin'? Ye 'ave any special needs in the way o' food?" "Oh," she blinked a little her eyes going from the fire to Atreyu's face. He seemed so much bigger sitting next to her. Sure for a girl her age Ally was tall, but she was the size of a toothpick without much meat on her period - so it wasn't so hard to be larger than her... "Um, I'm a little nervous but I'm sure I'll be okay. And um, I guess I'll just eat what they have," she shruged. Growing up comunal living style where what you ate was what someone else bought or donated and yet someone else cooked had made her hearty enough to eat anything without much complaining. "I mean so long as it's relatively edible you can eat just about anything," she continued at random. "I duno - I suppose it'll all be pretty normal stuff but I won't know till I get there, right?" Her mind drifted to her previous experience traveling and the plane and teh food she'd gottent here. It hadn't been bad at all, a little on the slim side of things, she'd never been really full, but it had all been good at least. "I'm not really a picky eater," she finally offered, "grew up without much power to choose what I ate until I came here so I'm still used to eating whatever is put infront of me..." Why would Atreyu care what she was going to eat when she went to Africa? Strange. |

"Aye, it be normal," Atreyu reassured, smiling slowly. He watched her stare into the flames and observe the way the logs crackled and slid against one another as they slowly burned. He waited for her response before discerning in a matter of moments that Ally thought she was talking about her final destination. Shaking his head firmly, Atreyu clarified with a level tone, "Nah. I be speakin' o' my father's ship. If you be travelin' with us in the near future. Be you vegetarian?" Bending over in a slight stretch, the light emanating from the fire highlighted his well-toned muscles, lean, but firm. He was tired and his body ached, but he wasn't tired enough to sleep. Atreyu rolled his head a bit to stretch that before looking to her and leaning back after a moment. "Be you fond o' the stars?" It was a personal question, more for Atreyu than for her. The stars were constant for him, something that he had always loved looking at while lying on his father's ship, feeling the rock of the ocean and hearing the swish of the breeze and water against the boat. |

"Nah. I be speakin' o' my father's ship. If you be travelin' with us in the near future. Be you vegetarian?" "O-oh," she stammered out, a slight blush rising to her cheeks; she hadn't realized that she had committed to that... Or had she? "No, no I'm not a vegetarian," she finished, her eyes still lost in the flames. Her mind raced back along their short time of knowing one another; she remembered something about going out on the sea with them, but she hadn't realized he intended it to be for a great deal of time. Well that was one more iron in her fire... Next to her Atreyu stretched and shuffled around a bit; she didn't watch him, her thoughts were turned too much inward. Did she want to spend a good deal of time at sea? Could she commit to that? "Be you fond o' the stars?" Her eyes turned in his direction, seeking out his eyes before she looked up - stars smiling down on her from their lofty perch. "I like the stars; you don't see them as well in New York as you do here," looking back at the boy next to her she shrugged, "I guess it's because of all the lights and smog." She looked back up, seeing foreign shapes in the stars and wondering briefly what was out there, "Atreyu," she spoke into the silence, a little hesitantly before looking at him. "I don't know that I can commit to going out to sea with you - if I do go to Africa I don't know how long I'll be, and the last thing I want to do is say I'll go and then not show up." Ally had a deep respect for those people who made and kept commitments. She didn't want to make another person wait like she had waited before in life; it was a terrible feeling to be left waiting. Reaching a hand up she swept her bangs to the side and out of her face, her eyes clouded with worry; she'd really hate for him to be upset with her... "I'm sorry if I made it sound otherwise - I know I get really excited about things, I'm sorry." |

"New...York?" Atreyu asked, not really familiar with the cities in the United States, mostly because he only travelled around the more southern ports. There wasn't much to find around the United States. Most of the world's treasures lay in the most obscure islands and far inland areas, like deserts. He liked just sitting there watching the stars with someone. That was enough for him at the moment, especially since he was so far away from what he considered to be home, after all. As Ally began to talk, the young man turned to look at her, his bright eyes, almost black from the night sky focussing on the light across her face and the shadows that played behind her eyes. Atreyu was relieved that at least the young woman was being honest with him. After she finished explaining to him, Atreyu offered her a reassuring smile. "No need ter be aplogizin'. I be just fine enjoyin' me time with ye 'ere. I ain't aimin' to drag ye along if ye don't be needin'. I jus' be offerin'. If ye be wantin'....anytime. I jus' be....well...a bit lonesome is all. I should be the one apologizin'." Atreyu looked guiltily toward her, or at least whatever she would be able to discern from his face against the darkness of the night. "I understand ye be havin' yer own things ter do. If I might jus' ask me one favour 'fore ye leave. 'morrow mornin', will ye come with me ter the temple at the top o' the mountain? I...can't do it alone..." |

"New...York?" Blinking she pondered the possibility that he might be joking; he was afterall, well traveled and worldly and what not - did he really not know New York? "Um, New York City?" Expounding on the idea she tossed out what probably weren't very relevant things to the pirate, but were pop icons regualrly associated with the city, "Where the Statue of Liberty is? Really big city, little island, bridges, Broadway and what not?" Shrugging she pulled her knees up to her chest and hugged them to her, her neck rolling back so she looked straight up through the boughs of the tree to the sky. "I spent my whole life there." She hoped that he was not offended that she wasn't jumping for joy to join his crew. Honestly the though of being confined to a boat for months at a time scared her a little. Where did you do things? What did you do? She felt that she might just go a little stir crazy - but then she didn't understand the workings of a boat so she shouldn't be so quick to judge. I should be the one apologizin'." She breathed a sigh of releaf, her head dropping back to meet Atreyu's gaze with a smile; only to find him looking so guilty! Startled she wondered if something else was wrong - was this like the Blast from the Past movie where he had to come home with a wife? Was he about to tell her some story behind the curse of needing to find a perfect partner and having a hundred children and fleet of fifty ships? That they would have to conquer Neptune's Lair and steal back the treasure of a long lost god that would have to be resurrected by their first born to lift the curse? Well we can say that at least Ally had a vivid imagination...now only if she could channel it a bit better, hmm? "I understand ye be havin' yer own things ter do. If I might jus' ask me one favour 'fore ye leave. 'morrow mornin', will ye come with me ter the temple at the top o' the mountain? I...can't do it alone..." "The temple?" She repeated, well while not the admonition she'd just dreampt up it was still an interesting destination. "Sure - but what's so special about the temple?" |

Atreyu tried to think about all the things she said. Some sounded familiar, but some did not. She seemed enthusiastic enough about it. Of course he had learned of the Statue of Liberty from his private tutor, but there had been only a few images of each city he learned of in the large tome the teacher had. He watched relief sweep over her face and then an almost surprised and confused look, he assumed, from his own expression. Atreyu was generally quite quick to realize how other peoples' reactions were related to his own, and how he might go about changing them, or asking their opinions to remedy any awkwardness. The young pirate quickly avoided all the silence and answered her question. "I be findin' ou' on the morrow," Atreyu stated, wondering himself what was so special. "May be that it 'ave som' amoun' o' treasure. May be that it 'ave them spirits there. It be for me ter find out. That be my idea..." Sighing, he adjusted his red eyes to fixate on the shadows of the forest beyond for a moment, marvelling at the fact that, because of the fire, he could not clearly discern what the surroundings were beyond it. The scattering of the light confused his eyes and created an image that was almost fuzzy to him. As he sat there just thinking, a grumble started from him and he looked to Ally, realizing that it had been his stomach. "Be ye 'ungry now?" Atreyu asked, holding a hand to his own stomach. |

"I be findin' ou' on the morrow. May be that it 'ave som' amoun' o' treasure. May be that it 'ave them spirits there. It be for me ter find out. That be my idea..." "Oh," she nodded, wondering if there was more to it, but she didn't want to press the issue. His secrets were his own. "Be ye 'ungry now?" Atreyu asked, holding a hand to his own stomach. She had eaten earlier, the Blue Leaves had been something of a post-dinner treat, but it was much later now; and it stands to note that Ally is a girl who likes food! "Atreyu, I can always eat!" Of course such a statement coming from a girl who was as bone-skinny as she was would understandably leave some doubt, Ally herself didn't quite understand how she maintained the size of a stick, but she did. She envied girls who had curves and could wear things without the fear of them slipping off... But that was something else. "Have anything in mind? I should guess we aren't going to the caffeteria or into town for food - I'll warn you, I've hardly ever cooked," she wagged a finger at him playfully. With so many children it was always easier to just leave the cooking to others and keep them out of the kitchens, but she had done a little on the rare occasion she went to a friend's house or something. Cooking was something she'd like to learn one day, actually. It was one of those abilities that made a home, and deep down she wanted a home and family one day... |

At her claim, Atreyu laughed heartily and got up, walking over to rummage around in his bag for the necessary items. "I 'ave me som' instant type food. Fillin' an' real, but not amazin' by any means. I ain't a good cook meself. Left it all to Olton in the galley! But I 'elped 'im a couple o' times." He took out a loaf of bread he bought a little while back, evidenced by the crunch and stiffer exterior. It was not yet stale, but approaching. The young man then removed a pot, a ladle, a jar and some meat in a bag, cold still and bloody red. He had had it stored in the ground in the woods to keep it cold, knowing that there was no freezer or fridge. Atreyu hoped that Ally wouldn't mind his almost barbaric way of doing things. He had set all the objects on the blanket at first, but picked up the cast-iron pot and offered it to her, asking Ally, "Mind ye? We be needin' water ter cook." Removing the rest of the items, including some vegetables, Atreyu took out his pocket knife and began to cut and peel them neatly. The easiest thing to do was to make some sort of stew. He was starving himself, so the process would seem incredibly slow, but the young man knew that this version, this poor-man's stew version, would be faster than anything else he could probably think about doing. The meat itself was poultry. He had not been good at hunting, so the meat was also from the store, but since the young man had no dorm room yet, there had been no way of storing it. Atreyu couldn't go hungry the first week! So instead of buying a refrigerator, he simply camped out in the woods. It was the only real solace he had since he had stepped off his father's ship. There was much to think about when you were alone, but at least in the forest, away from the lights of the city and school, he could still see the stars shine brightly and imagine that he was on a boat far away, sailing to who knows where. |

Atreyu laughed heartily, which caused Ally to wonder if she'd said something funnier than she'd intended. Oh the lovely side affects of being an adolescent girl! He got up, walking over to rummage around in his bag. "I 'ave me som' instant type food. Fillin' an' real, but not amazin' by any means. I ain't a good cook meself. Left it all to Olton in the galley! But I 'elped 'im a couple o' times." He took out a loaf of bread, removed a pot, a ladle, a jar and some meat in a bag, cold still and bloody red. It was all done with much method, so all she could do is sit there and marvel at what he was doing it. There was confidence that spoke of having done it before, so all she could do was trust him. He had set all the objects on the blanket at first, but picked up the cast-iron pot and offered it to her, asking Ally, "Mind ye? We be needin' water ter cook." Ally looked from the pot in her hands to Atreyu; water? Where? The blank look she gave him was probably comical as it plainly said - what? I don't understand? "Uh," she looked down and blinked, "Um," looking back up at the boy standing over here and slowly got to her feet, staring at the foreign object in her hands. "Sure?" She finally said slowly, dragging it out of her mouth, her eyes looking back to Atreyu as she said very quietly and slowly, "Where do I get it from?" ((OOC: I started doing a whole, she goes off for water thing but didn't know what you'd intended so I copied and cut it out...)) |

((OOC: XD Sorry. It's whatever you like! You could have her just go out and come back or get attacked by a bear, or whatever. Hee hee.)) "Ye can find a stream jus' a few paces away," Atreyu said, pointing and looking into the fading light that was just dim enough to show a small dirt path to the north that was framed by a number of crisply outlined trees. The shadows faded from then on, melting into the darkness that was the navy blue sky and creating almost a murky mountain shape in the distance. Whether it was truly Dragoon Mountain, or just an image painted by the nature of light, Atreyu didn't know. Either way, he hoped that Ally would be able to find the water over where he said. He had tread around the parts a number of times and so he knew where it was, but figured handling the food and preparing it was more important at the moment. "If ye need, ye can bring a torch," Atreyu suggested, smiling. He hoped that she didn't think him a total jerk for sending her off to do the task. Her confused face had definitely took him by surprise before. |

((OOC: Okay - going for drama effect - remember, Ally has no control over what she does with her powers...)) "Ye can find a stream jus' a few paces away," Atreyu said, pointing to show a small dirt path. To her eyes that were used to the constant illumination of light, the relative darkness was pitch dark and unnatural. However, he was still acting like it was all very well and normal and she really didn't want to think that he could mean her harm at all. So that meant that this had to be perfectly fine and normal. Shifting the dead weight of the pot to her left hand she shuffled across the brightly lit circle into the darkness... "If ye need, ye can bring a torch." It wasn't too terribly bad... Glancing back she attempted a small smile and shook her head and tentatively started out. She didn't immediatly see much of anything; behind her there were the quiet noises Atreyu was making, the sound of the fire, infront of her there was the gentle rustling of breeze through foilage - nothing big, scary, or mean - right? Except not so. Ally, though she tried, was affraid of what could be out there. Her fear was strong enough that as her heart beat faster, as the dim light of the safe circle of firelight disappeared, something within her began rolling off waves of fear in palpable waves. The waves radiated out from the girl who was suffling blindly through the dark - she'd caught the sound of softly splashing water and scooted in that direction. She could barely see ahead of her where the moonlight cast light on something reflective and distinctly wet sounding. Not so bad - right? Looking around, she took a deep breath before shuffling those last few feet and looking around to make sure there wasn't anything around her she knelt down ever so slowly, dipping the pot into the water. While looking around was a good thing, it might have benefitted her to look up. As the Dark Forest was close enough that things could be tempted out, such a creature was now perched on a thick enough limb to support it's massive weight; the growing waves of fear had drawn it like a moth to a flame. It was large, having feet and legs that looked like a draggons, the scales spreading over it's great belly and breast with a loose offering of feathers sprouting here and there before covering the rest of it's hulking body. The body was decidedly that of a bird, the bronze and brown hues of scales and feathers allowing it a camoflauge that saved the creature often enough. Tiny forearms, almost a throwback to something oddly dinosaur like and similarily thick fleshy allowed it to lean forward and grasp the branch as dark eyes whirrled, gazing at this creature that had so called it from it's sleep. It wasn't particularily hungry, but it wanted this creature. The wickedly curved and sharp beak parted in an expression of bird-like excitement. The prey was too intent on the ground level that it never saw the strange bird creature up above; powerful wings let it drop to the ground near silently, the only thing giving it up was the updraft created by it's sheer size. This caused the prey to look up, like a startled animal - but there was intelligence in those eyes the creature recognized, and then - OH Flight and Feathers! - and then it parted it's tiny mouth and the sound - the scream - the noise was ten billion times louder than anything it had heard before. From fear and pain it too let out a ghastly squwaking scream that was more a trumpeting caw than anything else, but was swallowed up in that endless, piercing scream no normal creature could produce...... |

((OOC: SCHWEEEEEET)) Atreyu gave the young woman one more encouraging smile before bending to his task again. He made quick work of the vegetables he had, minimal as they were, and found the spoon he had been looking for for the soup paste base he was going to use. It would pretty much be like miso, or chicken bouillon. He had hoped that Ally would take at least a light, but if she was fine, then Atreyu wouldn't embarrass her by telling her to grab one anyway. She seemed like a pretty independent girl anyway. Afterall, she'd be going to Africa and finding out about herself. Wasn't that independence? On land the night seemed to come swifter than at sea. Atreyu noticed that the sky was not pitch black and it was nigh impossible to see where Ally had gone or where she might be. It hadn't been a very long time, but with all the materials prepared for the dish, it wasn't as though Atreyu had anything else to set up. He threw a couple more logs on the fire, though it had enough to burn for at least an hour already, before taking out his compass and checking the directions. Things like that didn't matter much on land, but Atreyu couldn't break the habit. He started toward where he had pointed to in order to help Ally back, but stopped to pick up a torch himself when he heard a scream erupt from the forest and then a cry from an animal...or what he thought had to be an animal. Breaking into a run, feeling the cool night breeze turn into a burning, searing wind that cut against his cheekbones, Atreyu jumped over fallen logs and lit his way only a few feet in front of him. His own bright red eyes seemed to pierce the night like a frightening demon creature, but when he stumbled upon what he assumed had let out the animalistic shriek, the young man just gaped. Its mixture of animal traits confused him more than anything. The scales and the feathers? He was used to seeing mythological creatures in books and stories, but this was out of line for his reality. Seeing it attack Ally, swooping down in its fury, Atreyu reacted more than anything. "Ally! Hit the deck!" The pirate's right hand flew to the flintlock pistol at his waist and in a snap of thunder, cracking into the empty night, he let a round off at the monster. His bright red eyes blazed at it, frustrated at himself that he had sent Ally away to do the task, but also because he had been ill prepared near the Dark Forest. Taking just a hair of a second, Atreyu fired again and again, the pistol only holding a few rounds. |

For better or worse, the Ally that previously inhabited the 5'9", thin frame was gone. In it's place was a creature that still screamed, the sound waves compressed and heightened so the sheer volume of it in close proximity was enough to jarr a person's skull. It was both of her abilities working in some form of rogue teamwork. The waves of fear and panic swept out of her, enveloping the creature who, across the stream from her stood almost upright on it's two draconian feet and shook; it's wings held slightly away from it's body, the dragon, spiked tail twitching restlessly as the eyes whirred, pale golds and bronzes swirling around in a sea of black as it gurgled something. In truth this odd creature that was part dragon, part bastard big-bird, and dinosaur all in one was a small adolescent of what it could be. Ally's mind was reacting of it's own will for survival, her eyes trapped by those of the creature that froze her in place and kept her screaming which kept the creature where it was... Both were oblivious to the young man, trapped in the unending loop of fear. "Ally! Hit the deck!" Perhaps somewhere in the back of her mind she was conscious of him yelling, but possessed as she was by the gaze of the creature she could not move of her own will. The gunshots were mere staccatos in her solo, however the force of repeated impact on the solid shield of scales made the already fearful creature overbalance, wings flapping helplessly as the last shot hit it and it toppled and rolled over with a great squawk of surprise and fear. With the loop broken Ally collapsed into a lifeless heap on the ground, her strength sapp'd from her thin body. Across the stream the creature regained it's footing and launched it's self up and away with an alarmed squawk. |

Atreyu had no inkling as to what had just happened, but it was definitely enough of a scare for him to rush toward Ally's limp form and check her vitals immediately after he knew the threat was gone, or at least apparently so. He kept his pistol in one hand and touched her neck with his other, the fingers feeling for a pulse, anything. After a second, the young man found it, a faint heartbeat that resounded against his own. He sighed in relief, kneeling so he could get into position to pick Ally up. Gently, as gently as one could in such a position, Atreyu took her arm and heaved her on his shoulder in what is currently known as the "Fireman Carry" and grabbed the pot in the other hand, sliding it to his wrist so that his gun was still free to shoot. The feat had been easy enough for him and he walked swiftly back to the camp. The sky pitch black, his torch forgotten as he had thrown it down after the fight with the beast, Atreyu traced his way and dropped his items before helping Ally lie down comfortably on some blankets. He let her lay there as he continued to prepare the meal. He fetched a new batch of water himself, on guard, and then let it boil. Afterwards, he put the vegetables and seasoning in, all the while conscious of the sky. With the meat added, the aroma began to waft into the chilly air, and the young pirate lord wondered whether or not a creature would come to feast on it rather than them. He smiled to himself at such a joke, his eyes averting to a quick glance in Ally's direction. Her brown hair looked almost red in the firelight, her face exhibitting a more healthy glow than he knew it was. Atreyu's smile turned into a slight frown. He reprimanded himself for being so careless. He would have to apologize to Ally when she woke up, though at least his tough exterior had come into play well and managed to get them out of the situation. Thinking back on the whole thing, he had no idea why the animal stopped and didn't continue to charge at them. Curious... |

This again.... She floated in a sea of blackness and pain. She hurt in the worst way possible. Her eyes eventually flitted open, but she squeezed them shut at the mere glimmers of fire light, groaning painfully. The smells of food made her stomach hurt and want to empty out the scant contents it held at the moment. Her head pounded, things were swimming around and she felt like she was falling. She'd experienced this once before. After that day in the garden. She'd been sick for two days after that; what had brought it on? She had no idea then, and less of one now. She didn't even know what had happened. They'd been sitting here by the fire, she'd gone off to get water and then it was all blank....until now. What had happened? Through the dimness that surrounded her brain all kinds of ideas flitted to mind; harmless to terrible, she had a sinking feeling what had happened had been bad, very very bad... ((OOC: No matter! Pile on!))Lost in his own thoughts, Atreyu did not notice her stir for at least a minute. He had been concentrating so hard on deciphering the mystery of the creature's flight that Ally's movements were lost to him. Perhaps there was something she had said to the beast? No, it couldn't have been...all she did do was stand there screaming at it. Was that the key? How could such a simple act such as a normal scream inhibit a large monster of a beast from attacking a small human? Or maybe it wasn't an average scream... Atreyu blinked, his eyes finally taking in his surroundings again. With his peripherals he caught Ally trembling a bit. He walked over and touched her shoulder gently. She couldn't and wouldn't be able to move much since the pirate had basically wrapped her up in the blankets like a cocoon, but at least she was warm. "Dun know if ye be 'wake, but food be ready soon. Ye ough'a eat som'..." He had no idea what kind of symptoms she had, nor what kind of mental condition she was in, but Atreyu could only hope for the best. There was something about the entire situation that was just strange to him. A little something that was bothering him that he couldn't figure out. The young pirate's curiosity was getting to him. He would have to remedy this somehow. |

Oh the light hurt, but she couldn't move! Granted she didn't want to because if she remembered, which hurt just as much, moving had hurt a lot too. She was able to at least bury her face in what appeared to be blankets, shutting out the light and groaning at the pain such effort caused her. She was able to find a less painful position with the light all nicely blocked out and was fully ready to succumb to the darkness of sleep... However, that was not the case. There was moving and sound and then splitting pain again and she whimpered painfully, cracking her eyes open just a bit, "Stop yelling," she gasped, squeezing her eyes shut. If she could have moved her arms she'd plugged her ears but that wasn't really possible. She was in pain and it wouldn't stop. She wanted it to stop, really she did but it wouldn't, the pain and the feeling like she was really going to be sick growing in the pit of her stomach. "No food," she tried to shake her head with the pitiful mumble but that only served to make her a bit more ill feeling as her head suddenly swam in circles and loops that made her want to curl up and hold her tummy. Why was this happening again? What had brought it on the first time and what had happened now for it to happen again? She really didn't understand, nothing made sense to her poor, befuddled mind except pain. Pain was very clear. Far away, and retreating farther the young monster had alighted on the ground and was painstakingly walking home, all kinds of forest creatures scuttling away from it. It was not a quick beast, it was not a ferocious attacker, but it was still deadly in a much different manner of being. ((OOC: The monster I've taken from the Crown of Stars series with a few modifications for a more anime world, just fyi. And we only saw the baby...)) |

((OOC: I do not know that series/monster...@.@)) Atreyu had only whispered, so he was surprised when she had accused him of yelling at her. His eyes narrowed in concentration, curious that her senses had distorted so. Was she really that sensitive from the screams of the beast? His thoughts churning were interrupted by her groans and protests to food. The former feelings tumbled away and were replaced by a sense of disappointment. Perhaps Ally was so ill that she really just needed sleep. There were some illnesses that were that way. Sighing, Atreyu stepped away from her, leaving her be. As he sat down next to the fire once again, the young pirate lord tried to make as little noise as possible, knowing it would be hard for him not to. If there would be any sort of attack again, then he would just have to make a ruckus. He hoped that Ally would sleep. Taking out a sketchbook, the young man began to draw the image of the creature he remembered in his mind. He would have to research it later in order to figure out what it might be. Perhaps it was a creature only native to the Dark Forest, or perhaps it was from somewhere else. Atreyu had no idea. Either way, he was going to go hungry! Reaching out for the warm wooden spoon, the red-haired young man thought to himself how unfortunate it was now that Ally was in such a position where she would probably not be able to go with him travelling to the mountain. Even on a good day, it was said to be a rigorous task, so now that she was in pain it would definitely be near impossible! He sighed once again, ladelling the food into a bowl for himself and letting it sit for a moment before starting to devour it with the bread. He generally ate his food hot. After a moment's pause, Atreyu reflected on his mind process and decided it had been very poor of him to think so selfishly. Either way though, Ally was definitely incapacitated and it would probably take the better part of a week for her to heal. |

Ally curled up where she was and shut her eyes tightly, wishing for something to make her head stop pounding. She attempted and failed to ponder out what it was that had brought this on, she had only gotten water. Eventually she lost herself in a troubled sleep, waking after some time, the edge of the ache gone. It was still quiet around them, the passage of the creature scaring away many creatures to other grounds. Rolling over she shielded her eyes against the glare of the fire, orienting herself to where she was and what was happening. She knew she was still in the forest with Atreyu, and it appeared that nothing was going on. On shaky arms she untangled herself, sweating a little, from the blankets and sat up, blinking as the world became a merry-go-round for a moment. Leaning up against the rock behind her to keep her steady she searched out Atryu's form and finally mumbled, ever so quietly, "What - what happened?" |

After finishing his food, the pirate had gone about clearing away the dishes while Ally slept and then settled himself against the log, its knots conveniently next to his back rather than just behind it. He had been staring intently into the fire for a very long time when he had caught her movement beside him a few feet away. He was surprised that she was putting up such a fight with the blankets after having complained about the large amount of noise and the amount of groans, which he assumed were correlative to the amount of pain she had and probably was still experiencing. Crawling over a little, Atreyu watched her steady her own self before starting to explain in as soft a voice as possible, "A creature o' sorts attack'd. Ye be screamin' an' fell as I shot a' it. I carried ye back an' set ye down." The young pirate looked to her and then back to the stew that he had set aside so it would not cook too long. He did not want the meat to be too tough, but it was still hot enough to eat, actually, warm so that it would not burn her if she wanted any. As he turned back he flipped his red bangs out of his eyes. "The food be done. I reckon ye oughtta eat som' now." |

"Monsters?" She repeated, eyes large and voice soft. Hearing about them was one thing, being told she had confronted one, been attacked, and lived was another. Feeling decidedly weak she leaned back, her arms lax at her sides and stared at a point some distance away, not saying anything. "The food be done. I reckon ye oughtta eat som' now." Nodding mechanically, Ally turned her attention to Atreyu, accepting bowl, spoon and still warm food. At first she dipped the spoon in and brought only the tiniest bite to her mouth, but a few moments later her stomach growled in distinct protest of being ignored and she began eating larger spoonfuls, though everything she did was deliberately slow, and she winced every time the fire popped. "Atreyu," she whispered after a few moments, "you said a monster attacked me, yet I don't remember anything." Turning her large eyes to him, she squinted, seeing several of him at once. "But you were there - what happened?" |

"One monster." He helped her with the food before continuing. "It just be 'ow I sai' it," Atreyu shrugged, glad that she had accepted the food and was not eating it. She would need her strength in order to heal. He could tell that she was extremely tired, hurt, and confused, but there honestly was not much more to the whole thing. He tried explaining more, but the young man had only really stepped. Making his own conclusions, Atreyu suggested, "Maybe ye be so scared and shocked that ye don't be rememberin' quite yet. I be here at the fire and 'eard ye screamin' in the woods. When I find ye, the monster be frozen, 'bout ter attack, and ye be standin' there screamin' at it." He remembered the darkness of the forest and how he himself had been shocked to find the creature there about to attack the two of them, mainly Ally. He had thrown the torch to the side and fired at the animal with his pistol, which now sat patiently beside him. Realizing that the fire was bothering her, Atreyu crawled in front of it to block it. He wondered exactly how long she would be in this state. |

Ally couldn't remember a thing, so all she had was Atreyu's memory of what had happened during this attack. Dimly she hoped that his observations would perhaps help her understand why she hurt like she did. "It just be 'ow I sai' it," Atreyu suggested, "Maybe ye be so scared and shocked that ye don't be rememberin' quite yet. I be here at the fire and 'eard ye screamin' in the woods. When I find ye, the monster be frozen, 'bout ter attack, and ye be standin' there screamin' at it." The spoon went from bowl to mouth, and swallowed before she paused, eyes searching out which Atreyu to focus on in front of her. He was telling her that he'd sent her off into the dark and dangerous forests alone despite the possibility of being attacked? What had the creature done to her? "You mean," she said shakily, "you sent me out there alone? You don't know what it did to me?" Her eyes trailed from his face that danced in front of her down to the ground, which moved and bucked a lot less. "How could you do that to me?" Her hands began to shake as the emotional pull of the moment shook her body, causing her to feel quite faint for a moment. Dropping the spoon she reached out a hand to steady herself against the rock, closing her eyes tightly against the tremor and backlash of saying so much. |

"I didn't reckon the stream be so close ter the Dark Forest," Atreyu explained, hoping that she would understand but knowing that in her situation, it was easy to be mad at him and his irresponsibility. Of course he probably should've gone with her. "I just be aimin' ter save us some time. I thought ye be fine gettin' som' wa'er." He paused for a moment, making sure that she was steady and still conscious before continuing with sincerity, though an edge of defensiveness in his voice. "'pologies, but I thought ye be 'lright doin' it. It ain't but a mistake." Atreyu thought that although Ally had been through a lot, she would be the kind of tough woman that would be able to handle it. Perhaps going out to sea would be a bad idea afterall. I mean, honestly she did take a lot of shock and possible injury from the creature in the forest, but still...Atreyu was thinking twice about the entire thing. "I checked ye fer a pulse an' seems 'pparent ye ain't got wounds...I think ye be fine." The young man honestly didn't know what else to tell her, what to say to her. She wanted to know what had happened and he had told her, but it was to the best of his ability. Decision making and leadership skills were things that his parents had set him on land to learn and the young man certainly was learning now, however, at the expense of other people. Atreyu realized that, wondering how many other peoples lives he might put in danger in the future. Could he consciously do that to a person? |

Her head swam in a stormy sea, her vision blured and unable to focus she felt a touch of motion sickness. Leaning back against the cool stone behind her she rolled her head back, closing her eyes. Waves of fever, chill, and nausia swept over her in quick succession. Groaning a bit she put a hand to her forehead. What was wrong with her? "I don't remember anything," she mumbled, the hand dropping to her lap as she felt the barest hint of composure returning to her. Atreyu's face flosted infront of her in three different places, an errie thing. She resisted focusing on any one of them and just stared blankly somewhere in between all of them, her face still pinched in an expression of pain. She fought down the urge to blame him, this was supposed to be his domain, he supposedly knew what to do here, and yet something bad had happened. Breathing deeply again, she steadied herself inwardly, the throbbing in her head and nausia at least conforming a little to her will. "I - I don't remember anything," she repeated, her eyes glazing over as she didn't force them to focus on anything in particular. "Something about getting water and then I was here," it didn't make sense. What was it that was causing her to be like this? |

After finishing the bowl of food, the young man took it away from her and put it aside. He was feeling hungry himself again and decided to spoon himself another bowl. Taking the one he had used before, he ladled another full portion and began to eat in silence. There was only the crackling and hissing of the fire accompanied by the smell of smoking wood that helped ease his mind. Although there was not much more else to explain, Atreyu felt the urge to speak. He tried to rack his brain for some sort of conversation that would be more comforting and easy for the two of them, but nothing came to mind. Eventually he just settled on reassuring Ally. He placed the round bowl in his lap and sighed, looking at her across the way and said, "Ye be needin' rest. Maybe ye outta sleep som' more..." His red eyes turned back to the brown stew, mechanically taking it in. The stale snap of the bread wasn't even enough to break him from the robotic actions as he took piece after piece and consumed them. "I be watchin' tonight," explained the young man, more with his body than anything. He sat rigidly, the weapons near to him as he gazed from his bowl into the firelight and back. |

((OOC: Yeah, I did a crappy job of backing into a stupid corner - go to next day?)) Sleep came in short bursts, leaning back against the cool stone, her face up turned to the stars, her head pillowed on her knees, lying back down on her back, rolling over to her side, and eventually finding a spot on her stomach, head pillowed on crossed arms, she fell into a deep, rocking sleep. Her dreams were strange, fragments of what she could only guess were the creature, the feeling of the ground lurching under her, and a constant buzzing sound. She only drempt in spurts, things coming with little or no meaning until she was able to puzzle them out much later. While she didn't sleep long, she slept well, her mind and body collaborating to heal her of this strange ailment. She rolled over groggily as the first rays of sunlight colored the horizon. Her head still hurt but nothing like it had. Blinking dirt and sleep out of her eyes she rolled over to lye on her back and stare up at the quickly fading stars. The previous night, while still fresh, was quite a blurr. Atreyu... Gingerly she hoisted herself into a sitting position, feeling the world beneath her spin just a bit more than it probably should, she moved a bit more slowly, immediatly feeling all of the knots and sore spots associated with sleeping outdoors. Stretching, she peered at the pirate, wondering if he was awake or merely sleeping... |

((OOC: Agreed)) Atreyu fed the fire as he watched Ally toss and turn, his mind as dark and brooding as the sea. He could almost see the waves washing over again and again, taking away with it stones and then depositing shells back in their places. Creatures' footprints littered the sand...he had only docked on a shore once or twice, but it was such beautiful thing. Out in the middle of nowhere on islands pretty much untouched by man. He sighed as he dreamed of the wonders there, his blazing eyes seemingly fixed on Orion in the sky. Atreyu didn't notice the dawn break eventually, the rustlings begin in the forest, or the mourning doves calling their sad tunes. He sat there, though his eyes were tired, and watched the flames meld with the sunlight. The young man probably would have to bathe before Ally got up. He decided it would be safe to leave her for just a short while since they were more on the true forest side, really the border, than anything, and walked with the bucket toward the stream. There he whipped off his shirt and exposed the slightly tanned flesh there. His sun was leaving him, days fixed on land seeming to make it evaporate. Atreyu used his hands to splash the water on his face and then scrubbed a little on his body with a small bar of soap that he carried. He left his pants on and merely washed his feet and legs a little before heading back toward the camp. Ally was just beginning to wake and he sat himself down again in the position that she would see him upon opening her eyes. He was dripping wet with his shirt off, but a new one was soon in his hands and he shook it out a bit before putting it over his head and pulling it onto his skin. It stuck to his body a bit before straightening out and remained tight fitting as he gave her a morning smile. The stew from the night before, still half there, sat in the pot next to the fire. He could reheat it for breakfast. Starting about the task, Atreyu asked simply, "How ye be feelin'?" |

For a few peaceful moments she sat there as Atreyu went about his business at the fire. Slightly still asleep and muddling through her thoughts and assessing her aches she didn't feel the need to speak. The growing light made her wince a little and fishing out a pair of excessively large sunglasses she shielded herself that way. The world still seemed to want to buck and lurch, but with much less violence and regularity. She still hurt, but it was no where near the crippling intensity it had the night before. Breathing a sigh of releaf she slid her legs out and reached her arms to the sky every so slowly to not disturb her precarious hold on reality. "How ye be feelin'?" Venturing a timid smile at the pirate, "Better," she said slowly. The sleep had helped. "There's only one of you now, and you don't sound like you're screaming at me, so I'm taking those as good signs," she said with a little bit more personality. "How about you? How are you?" She asked after a slight pause. ((OOC: Ug, sorry so short, sutpid stuff going on today at work)) |

((OOC: S'okay. I'll repay you now.)) "I be as any pirate from sea be," Atreyu said, a lilting sad smile on his face. He stretched up himself and heard the bones crack in his back, his shoulders lessen in their tenseness and his muscles expand across his chest. "I be a bit tired an' forlorn, but nothin' I ain't 'andle' 'fore. Be good that ye see me fer me, not many o' me." He laughed at that and shook the water from his hair, some of it sizzling in the fire. "I be cookin' up the stew 'gain. Ye be needin' ter eat som'. Help yer strength." If the young man knew anything about food it was that he could make it last. The food from the previous night was perfectly fine. Sure the night hadn't been freezing to keep it cold, but it had been cold enough to store fine. "I ain't aimin' ter take ye up the moun'ain if ye hurt still, but I do aim ter get ter the top. If ye be wantin', I bring ye back ter the infirmary first?" |

"I be as any pirate from sea be," Atreyu said, a smile on his face. Ally smiled back, still a bit lifeless from being a bit tired and the swirling in her head, but she was making an attempt. She hadn't forgotten about what he wanted to do today and while last night she would have scrapped the thought with a sob of dispair, the morning brought with it a bit more of a positive outlook. "I be a bit tired an' forlorn, but nothin' I ain't 'andle' 'fore. Be good that ye see me fer me, not many o' me." The statement seemed a bit odd, and Ally attempted to shoo her fuzzled brain into pondering exactly what he meant, but it protested. A dull throbbing rising with a bit more fervent protesting than before, so she dropped the line of thought for now. He was a curious person, but so were most people she met. Deep down she loved getting to experience a new place without the confines she'd lived wthin her entire life. She was more able to make choices on her own, meet people, and do things. It was quite liberating, strangely enough. Atreyu's laughter brought her back to the moment, his wet hair flopping and dropplets sizzling in the fire; she thought maybe a few landed on her mosty bare feet but she didn't think too hard on it. No sense upsetting her frail mind any more than was needed. "I be cookin' up the stew 'gain. Ye be needin' ter eat som'. Help yer strength. I ain't aimin' ter take ye up the moun'ain if ye hurt still, but I do aim ter get ter the top. If ye be wantin', I bring ye back ter the infirmary first?" Giving the question some pause for thought, she chewed her lip. She was curious, but also had some failing thoughts about her ability to make the entire journey. "Hmm," she said to herself, looking down, "You don't have to take me back," she said slowly, "I mean in the daylight it's rather easy to find your way there," she shrugged. "What-," she paused, knowing it might be a little irritatin to him, "What if I went as far as I thought I could, and when I think I need to go back, well I just go back on my own? I mean, there's a pretty clear cut path from the shrine path back to school and it's supposed to be on or joins school property or whatever so I really should be fine," she offered. She was a bit curious herself, and also felt a little obligated to go. ((OOC: so i meant to do a great post, and i winde up rambling.... >__< )) |
