((Bwahhhh....*keels over*))

Ally's restricted movement was not enough to convince Atreyu that she would really be up to going. He was worried that they'd head toward the shrine and the young woman would just faint or something. That would be most troublesome. The more he thought about it though, the more he realized that it was really her decision. If she wanted to go then there wasn't going to be much stopping her. Still, she might feel as though Atreyu wanted her to go no matter what, and so felt obligated to go. He couldn't help thinking of all the possibilities. The pirate was a smart man afterall.

"Maybe ye be takin' it slow then," Atreyu suggested, not consigning one way or the other. Of course he wanted the company, but he wanted to make sure that Ally wasn't going to feel more sick than she was. He remembered the first couple times the new recruits on his father's ship had gotten seasick. That had not been pretty at all.

He stirred the stew until it was hot again and then dished some out in the same bowls to her and himself. He took the bread and divided some more up. They would have to finish that or it would go bad.

"The road to the shrine be a long one an' 'ard, but I be grateful if ye be wantin' ter try it," Atreyu said slowly as he ate. He took in a little at a time, making sure not to burn himself.

(( :P ))

Gingerly, Ally got to her feet and stretched her whole body, reaching her hands up and above her, grasping them together and bending ever so slowly backwards. Her own limber back cracked a few times, the movement sending a dizzying sensation shooting through her head. She felt her muscles all over protesting and stretching; there were quite a few knots up and down her back, and a few where she'd slept on her back.

"Maybe ye be takin' it slow then," Atreyu suggested.

Glancing over her shoulder at the red head she lowered her arms, the sunglasses covering her eyes she turned to face the pirate. "I guess so," she said slowly, her shoulders lifting ever so delicately. "I don't plan on over doing it," she said honestly, a timid smile on her face as Atreyu stirred the stew from the night before. She did a few more stretches before taking the reheated stew from the boy and sitting back down.

"The road to the shrine be a long one an' 'ard, but I be grateful if ye be wantin' ter try it," Atreyu said slowly as he ate.

Lifting her face from the spoon she studied Atreyu for a moment before offering, "I know I'm nothing but a city girl to you, and if it's any consolation I'm used to walking everywhere, but if you don't want me to go, just say it." Blowing on the spoon one last time she put the load into her mouth and didn't offer any more conversation.

Atreyu watched her stretch and finished off his stew as she spoke. It wasn't very hard considering the dish had been sitting out in his bowl for a little before he started. He finished well before Ally and was packing things up as she spoke about herself. The young man winced internally, knowing that that had been what he was thinking, but did not say. Turning to Ally, Atreyu shook his head.

"Don't get me wrong. I be wantin' ye ter go, but I just be a wee bit worried 'bout yer safet'y an' 'ealth is all."

Feeling a little bit better about the whole situation though, Atreyu cleaned up the rest of the stuff in his pack, not wanting to rush Ally, but unconsciously doing so as he folded up the last of his blankets.

"I ain't 'ad many o' companions that be not pirates themselves. I ain't used ter it."

Ally finished her food as Atreyu went about cleaning and packing up. Part of her wanted to devour the food and help, but her body resisted that idea, so she was instead seated there, behind her large sunglasses, spooning food in. She was only slightly offended by his comment, but not enough to be a pain about it. He had things he wanted to do and if she was only going to slow him down, well he shouldn't have to wait for her.

"Don't get me wrong. I be wantin' ye ter go, but I just be a wee bit worried 'bout yer safet'y an' 'ealth is all."

Eying him from over the bowl, spoon in her mouth she eyed him as he finished cleaning up. Spooning the last of the stew into her mouth she held the bowl in her lap and sighed as he folded up the blankets. "Well thank you, I appreciate the thought," smiling weakly.

"I ain't 'ad many o' companions that be not pirates themselves. I ain't used ter it."

He wasn't used to non-pirate people? The statement was a little confusing, but she didn't really worry about it. He wanted her to go, but not at the risk of her health and safety; she could respect that and she could do only what she knew she was capable of. Smiling she got up, dusting herself off a bit, "Don't worry about it," she shrugged, "I won't do anything more than what I know I can do, okay? I'll go wash the bowl out."

"Thank ye fer understandin'," Atreyu said slowly, watching as Ally made her way slowly with her bowl away from the site. He watched her form as she turned and moved away. There was a strange feeling brewing in his stomach. He wondered exactly what was making him feel such a strange weight on his chest. Was it guilt or was it remorse? The young man couldn't place it. Watching her brown hair flow in the wind and wondering if he would ever feel the sea breeze again, Atreyu decided to follow her just in case. He had everything packed up, so he put the backpack on and caught up quickly.

"If ye be wantin' ter wash yer face, I 'ave a cloth," the young pirate suggested, offering up the cotton rag. He kept it on him at all times, though it wasn't necessarily an heirloom or anything or particular value to him. It was just convenient.

An awkwardness sort of ensued and Atreyu didn't know what to say or do. They were definitely acquaintances, but he wanted to be friends. Did she really understand that he wanted her to be okay rather than to push it? He would think that since he was just a mere stranger, Ally would decide to go back to the infirmary and take her health over helping out a man she had just met, but perhaps they could be friends. Afterall, he had offered up a ride on his ship for her.

"I am sorry I sent ye 'lone last night..."

She wasn't unaware of Atreyu following her to the stream. She felt a little guilty now because he was obvioulsy waiting for her. Well, he could have asked her to move quicker, instead he'd waited so she wouldn't feel completely terrible about it.

"If ye be wantin' ter wash yer face, I 'ave a cloth."

Glancing up at the afore mentioned rag with a bit of surprise, she blinked a few times, eyes hidden by the glasses before she realized she was just kneeling there, looking up at him rather dumbly. Chuckling at herself she looked back down to the task at hand, "I have some baby wipes with me, I'm used to using those," she shrugged, "but thanks."

So she washed out the bowl, setting it aside on a rock for Atreyu to pick up and stow away, washing off her own hands and then digging out the packet of babywipes she kept with her. Growing up around a horde of children meant that some tings were just necessities. Removing one, she slid the glasses up atop her head and used the water as a mirror, the affect of the in-motion-mirror causing her head to reel ever so slightly in protest. She pushed the sensation aside and used the wipe liberally all over her face and then her arms. She wouldn't even look at her feet; slip on shoes really weren't the best idea for this, but she would manage.

"I am sorry I sent ye 'lone last night..."

Looking up from her task as she finnished and stood, brown eyes blinking at him and sucessfully focusing, she gave him a slight smile. "It's okay. Really - don't worry about it. Ready to go?"

If the young woman had her own customs, Atreyu wasn't going to press his on hers. If she didn't want to use the rag that was fine by him. He was rather indifferent to the whole thing. Putting away the rag and then the bowl after she was done washing it, the young pirate waited patiently for her and then nodded as she stood, replying with a snark kind of confidence, "Aye! I be ready fer any 'venture! I live fer it."

He laughed, wondering if she would laugh at him as well, but taking everything in stride. He was thankful that she wasn't angry at him for last night, but he was also not exactly over the situation himself. Trying to put it aside as he walked slowly over the ground with his worn out boots, Atreyu felt the ground beneath him almost seem to shudder from the thick rubber heels. He walked alongside Ally, showing the young woman the way through the forest and out of it so that they could take an alternative path toward the Dragoon Mountain. There would be a path for the shrine along there. Atreyu had looked before, but not really been daring enough to go up yet.

The weather had ended up being quite pleasing indeed, the gray and forbidding sky having turned to a pleasant wash of gold and blue. The sun was making its way up to the middle of the sky as they tread on the bright green grass toward the intimidating figure in the distance, almost swathed in sheet-like clouds.
