White Day Festival This Sunday! Guys Get Your Girl Cake! |
Staff Announcements
White Day is coming~! Of course, that doesn't mean anything to us outside of Japan, but to the characters of AHS, it's yet another chance to try and dry hump that guy or gal your character has their eye on. Teenage love, isn't it just special? Also, on an unrelated note, I've been playing Final Fantasy 13 (big surprise), and maybe it's just because I'm still kinda early in the game (Chapter 3, I think?), but does any one else think that Hope just needs to slit his wrists and get it over with? Down the block, kiddo, down the block. ~I'm Not A Jerk! D: *pushes Blood over*, Ryu
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!
And since he's a jerk, I'm putting this plug in here for Med 'cause Ryu is currently at work and can't get to the ACP. Now has a really short announcement section, Blood

[[ooc - so i'm picturing almost an apartment type dorm, a smallish 'main room' w/ tiny kitchenette and two bedrooms - thoughts? i can always edit!]] She'd done it - somehow. She'd come up with enough cash to at least secure her a place for the semester. Ally wasn't sure how she'd done it - the simple bar and coffee shop gigs didn't pay that much but the simple quantity of it must have made the difference. Regardless, she was loaded down with her one suitcase, a guitar case strapped across her back, and pushing her keyboard in it's giant rolly case. She didn't have enough hands for the rest of the instruments so they were still in the storage unit; she hoped that either the room was bit enough for everything and her roommate didn't mind or else she could find practice space to lease. At least today she felt human; most mornings she dragged out from having played until the early morning hours which resulted in consuming large amounts of coffee and feeling like a zombie. But not today! Today she was rather chipper. She'd gone to bed early, woken up early, did her laundry, and got her stuff together to shuffle herself from temporary housing to her very own dorm room. There were other people moving in today, families seeing their relatives to school safely, people with their friends - it was all very pleasant actually. Glancing at her key she looked again at the numbers, and saw her room as being next - and yes, there it was. Still locked so she had to set things down, fiddle with the lock and get herself together again, but it looked like she was here alone so far. She pushed her stuff into the main room, the stock furniture mostly pushed up against a wall so it would need arranging. There were two doors leading off from this one and after a little investigation discovered that they were pretty much identical and since there wasn't anyone here yet she'd just help herself to one. She didn't bother with settling in just yet. Two more trips and she'd carried - with the aid of a super cool little push-cart thing someone let her borrow - all of her instruments and gear and stacked the cases in her room. She wasn't sold on the idea of having them all in her bedroom; they took up most of the room but for now she could discontinue the storage unit and have them on hand when she needed them so until another solution was reached, this would have to make do. Fishing out a rubber band she pulled her long, brownredblondpink hair up into a messy ponytail, her swoop bangs revolting and falling over her left eye just a bit as she stood back and surveyed her room that was her domain. She'd come to AHS originally with one suitcase and one very old guitar. Things had changed fairly quickly after that first month; scholarship, the album, the royalties, Marcus sending her an entire arsenal of musical instruments, the trip to South Africa, the strange trip to New York that wasn't her New York, the Nexsus, and the interdimentional travel. Yup - she'd gone from pretty naive to overloaded rather quickly. Sighing, she pulled the suitcase up onto the bed and opened it and began putting away her clothes and shoes, pausing when she came to the lovingly worn photographs of people who no longer knew her. It was bittersweet just to look at those smiling faces. Tenderly, she set them on top of the dresser - she could get some frames later. The nostalgia brought on from the moment pouring over the faces of her loved ones enticed her to bring out the old, battered guitar. It still wouldn't stay tuned and the overall voice of the instrument was a little dull - nothing about it sparkled - but they'd bought it together for her to fix up and right now she wanted to relive that moment. So after fishing a pick out of another pocket she sat on the floor, her back up against the bed and started strumming softly, which started into a song she sang softly... "There's too many things I haven't done yet, There's too many sunsets I haven't seen....." It was slightly jazzy but played on the guitar instead of the piano or keyboard it sounded more twangy and country - maybe a hint of the coffee shop style. She was a talented player, that much was natural, innate ability. Her voice had an incredible range and clarity that after a few moments of the opening verse had her playing a bit more animatedly and actively correcting the tuning and pitch malfunctions with her own ability - but all anyone would possibly notice was the sound of an acoustic guitar and voice. She'd gone to South Africa to learn if she had any abilities and had learned rather unexpected that she had many still sleeping abilities, but the most developed was an ability to manipulate sound so having an out of tune guitar wasn't really a problem - she just made it sound in-tune. "How far do I have to go to get to you Many the miles, Many the miles How far do I have to go to get to you Many the miles But send me the miles and I'll be happy to follow you Love...." |

While Ally was alone and singing and playing her tune, a loud bang would be heard at the front door. It sounded as if some one had kicked the door open. And while that is what had happened, it was unlocked before it was kicked, so no damage was done. It was the kind of thing an inattentive child would do just for the hell of it. And that was exactly the case. Coming into the room was a girl thirteen years of age. However, she was smaller and much more petite, making her look younger and attracted a whole lot of lolicons. The undeveloped girl danced in with her eyes closed and obviously enjoying her music too much. She looked as if she had just gotten out of bed, wearing only a white beater with no bra and a pair of very short baby blue shorts that lacked any real pockets. And yet the girl had come from the hall, meaning that she has gone out in such clothing. While her ears were plugged with headphones pumping the song Artificial Children by IOSYS, Nijiko held the music player in her right hand and a half full bottle of milk in her left. As she danced through the room, her long ponytails flinging themselves around her small face as she moved, she would occasionally take a sip of her milk, slowing nipping away at its contents. The small girl of thirteen years danced and passed the door that lead to the room Ally was in. It took a full twenty seconds for Nijiko to stop and backtrack to the door to look inside. With her eyes now open, she stared at the girl and blinked while in mid dance pose. "Uhh....hi!" Nijiko said with a half wave and standing up straight. "Whatcha doin' in here?" |

She'd finnished the song, and was really just sitting there on the floor, her back up against the bed, the guitar sitting in her lap and strumming it gently. She was trying to decide what to do with the room. It was a maze of boxes and cases and her one suticase. Her instruments took up more space than anything else! It was rediculous. She had some idea to hang them on the wall, almost like a display which would give her more floor space. It might work, but she wasn't sold on the idea. In the middle of thinking this through she heard the door bang open, curious but not alarmed she leaned over to see if it was someone and in a moment caught the dancing figure of a young girl in shorts and a tanctop with what looked to be a bottle of milk and some sort of ipodsomethingorother in her other hand. It was funny, she was obviously into whatever it was she was listening. Chuckling, she started tucking the pick away in her pocket, and was about to decide between putting the instrument away or laying it on the bed when the girl backtracked, looking at Ally blinking, her body still in dancing posture. "Uhh....hi! Whatcha doin' in here?" "Hi," Ally chuckled, "I live here." Pushing the guitar on the bed she pulled her long legs under her and got herself to her feet, curious about who the dark haired girl was. "I'm Ally," she offered as she stood up, flashing the girl a genersou smile. "Who are you?" |

Nijiko stared at the girl for a bit, only moving to take a few sips of her milk. Then, after a few moments, Nijiko stood up straight and tilted her head to the side. "Well that's silly! This is mine, so it can't be yours. You're a silly girl." Nijiko said with a little giggle, only to quickly move to cover her nose. She had always thought that thing about laughing while drinking milk was a joke, but that didn't seem to be the case. Taking another chug of her bottle of milk, Nijiko gulped down the rest and turned her MP3 player completely off instead of just lowering the volume. She adjusted her white beater and walked into the girl's room, looking around at the boxes and things that had been put there. "Hmm...This stuff wasn't here before either... Are you a musician?" Nijiko asked as she glanced around. She then shrugged. "Well, I guess since I'm not using the room, you can have it. My name in Nijiko by the way. I'll be starting school here in the fall." She said, holding her empty milk bottle in her mouth and extending a hand to the girl. |

The girl didn't respond. Well that was a little awkward. Stretching, she felt like she had to be growing more, or maybe she was just overtaxing her body. Whatever the reason she felt strained, right down to her muscles. She didn't bother to hide her interest in the girl who just stood and stared and sipped on her milk. "Well that's silly! This is mine, so it can't be yours. You're a silly girl." Her brows furrowed as she looked at the giggling girl; this could be a problem. Sure she'd slipped in late and they might not have told the girl she was getting a roommate . She hoped this wasn't going to be an issue with the girl, she wanted things to be as least complicated as possible! "Well, this was where the Administration Office sent me, so I guess we're roommates now," she offered with an easy smile. She was willing to be nice and get along, but she wasn't going to let someone push her around. She didn't seem to be upset though, as she finished off her milk, fiddled with her MP3 player and adjusted her clothes, walking into the room and eyeing the mound of neatly stacked cases. "Hmm...This stuff wasn't here before either... Are you a musician?" Nijiko asked as she glanced around. She then shrugged. "Well, I guess since I'm not using the room, you can have it. My name in Nijiko by the way. I'll be starting school here in the fall." Grinning, she resisted the urge to chuckle and instead took the girls hand in her own calloused one, "Hi." Glancing at the boxes, she nodded, "It's mine, and yes, I'm a musician - or at least I try to be," she chuckled. "Do you play any thing?" She asked casually, the first tender steps of getting acquainted with a person establishing who each other was, and what exactly she'd be dealing with. "Starting in the fall, 'eh? Why so late?" |

Nijiko looked at the girl, starting to talk, but only mumbling as the empty bottle of milk was still in her mouth. She managed to explain a lot and a whole story, but none of it was understandable at all as she was making no sense at all. Then, after her words, she removed the bottle and spoke again, though a short version this time. I'm not old enough for high school yet. Even in the fall, I'm starting early for the normal Japanese schools. But it's weird, not a lot of Japanese are here. Isn't that odd?" Nijiko said as if she had just realized, despite being here for a few weeks already. "But I'm not going to start until fall. Things just worked out that way, so whatever, I'll just train until then." She said with a nonchalant shrug and a smile. And then, Nijiko finally addressed the musician comment with a shoo style wave. "My musical talent equals zero. I love to listen to it, but I don't have any of my own. As one of my big brothers have said and I quote, 'Nijiko, you're an ass-kicking loli that knows nothing outside of fighting, not even how to be a loli.' or something like that. I don't get it much, but my brothers say a lot of weird things. I tend to just ignore them." She said with a slight giggle and sticking her tongue out. "But if you want help unpacking, I have time. I look small, but I'm actually really strong." She added with a smile and a flex of her arms, which lack any muscle whatsoever. |

Blinking, Ally resisted chuckling as the girl, milk bottle in mouth, began mumbling. She tilted her head to the side, regarding the small, strange girl with interest thought she couldn't understand a word of what she was saying. However, whether the girl realized she was being unintelligible or was just continuing what she was saying, Ally would never know - but she did lower the bottle and inform Ally of the circumstances of her odd enrollment. Seemed like the situation would prove interesting, though she had to hope they'd get along despite the age difference. Indulging in a chuckle, Ally smiled and nodded at the girl, "Well, to be honest, I'm not even sure what I'm doing with all this," she gave a general wave in the direction of the stacked cases. "I could keep it all here, but it gets really loud when I practice, but if I don't keep it here I need to find practice space, so," she shrugged, "I think I'm going to just leave it there for now." She chuckled and looked at the one, lonely suitcase. "Other than the instruments all I have is one suitcase, so not a whole lot to do here." Pausing, Ally pondered what the girl had said before, "Ya know," she said slowly, "I've probably met more people who are from America or other places than Japanese students, you're right - that is strange," she agreed. "So," she sat back on the bed, instinctively pulling the guitar into her lap and propping her elbows on the swelling body of the instrument, "you have brothers then - and you guys fight a lot, I take it? Where are you from?" |

Nijiko nodded as the girl agreed with her. "I know right!" She said with a cute giggle. She wandered into the room more, sitting on the bed as if it was still hers. It wasn't that Nijiko lacked manners, she was just didn't think about those kinds of things even though she should have. "I have four brothers. We fight a whole lot." She started with a wide smile. "My daddies said that if any of them could beat me in a fight, I'd have to marry them and so far I'm undefeated. I'm that strong you know!" She said, advertising her strength again. From the way she spoke, it was obvious that the whole thing about marriage or the fact that marrying a brother sounded really bad wasn't really the important thing. It was more a side note of the matter. One could tell that she enjoyed fighting and that winning over her brothers was the reason she wanted to win, not because she didn't want to marry them. Nijiko just didn't think about things like that seriously, that was how she was. "Oh and I'm Japanese. Though I’ve lived in a whole lot of places. I've lived in Malaysia, Thailand, China, Russia, and Israel. In fact, I've never been to Japan until I came to this school. That's why I was expecting a bunch of Japanese people in a school in Japan. It's kind of disappointing, you know?" |

What some might perceive as Nijiko's utter lack of regard for personal space, Ally embraced, actually more comfortable with someone so willing to just treat all space as their own. It probably had something to do with growing up in a space shared with many others. Ally instinctively turned towards the girl as she settled in on the bed across from her, pulling one leg up onto the bed completely. She liked hearing about people's families, probably because it was something she didn't have. She couldn't help but chuckle as Nijiko told her a little about her family, her brothers and father, and their communal activity of fighting. She didn't exactly get the draw of it but then to each their own - right? "Well, I thought there'd be more Japanese students when I came here too," she chuckled, "but I guess as the school has a rather specific target for the student body it's understandable they'd draw from all over the world. It's fascinating really I think." "So you've traveled a lot?" Ally liked the idea of traveling, "I grew up in New York and came here, I've only been to South Africa besides Tokyo. Did you travel with your family - or for something else? What about the fighting? What's up with that?" Blatant curiosity there, "Is it another family thing - or just something you really like?" |

Lying back on the girl's bed, Nijiko kicked her feet back and forth as they spoke. Her empty bottle of middle still hung around in or on her mouth, but wasn't in the way of her speaking. She had it at an angle, tipping it back and forth with her finger on the top and having it move according to how she spoke. "I guess; there are a lot of weird people here. There was this guy that had a cool toy dragon thing and this other guy that turned his hair into a weapon. But all that weird stuff is pointless. I gave him a swift knee to his chin and he was out in an instant, pathetic really." She said chuckling to herself. She then stretched her arms out, smiling a bit as she was asked about her travelling. "Yeah, I went to each of my daddies' homelands to live with them for a year. One was in Russia, another in Thailand, the other in Malaysia and the last one in Israel. And then after that, they all moved to China and we all lived together. Each of them is martial arts masters, so I learned from all of them. My brothers only learned from their father's though, that's why I'm better than them." Nijiko said, sticking her tongue out and incidentally balancing the milk bottle on her tongue as she did. |

Ally got up off the bed as Nijiko started talking and put the guitar into a case, situating the strap just so and closing it; the case slid on top of what looked like a few other guitars. Crossing the floor to sit back on the bed across from the tiny girl Ally giggled, "Hair? Really? And you kicked him for that?" She didn't really believe the girl was that violent. I mean she was tiny and young, she didn't doubt that she was strong, but really being that violent? Ally just couldn't believe it of her. She knew too many stories of kids who 'improved the truth' out of one reason or another but to her point of view it didn't really bare worrying about right now; she was young, she'd grow out of crazy stories like that! However, the multiple dads idea, well that she first, just didn't understand and secondly, just couldn't pass up commenting on. She wouldn't question if the girl just said she had traveled to these places with her dad, but expecting her to believe she had multiple fathers was just a bit too much. "DaddieS," she repeated confusedly, "What do you mean by daddies Don't you mean dad?" |

Nijiko smiled and shook her head. "No, I kicked him because he was stuffing a maid girl into the closet. My daddies taught me better than that." She said, waving at Cid as if she was shooing her away. She sat up again, fiddling with the milk bottle still and watching Ally. And then as she questioned the normal of fathers she had, Nijiko shook her head again. "Noppers! I have daddies, four of them. But they aren't my real fathers. I don't know my real parents. But I do know that my daddies took care of me, so I have four of them. I get four times of many fathers as everyone else, so it's awesome and stuff. Plus they taught me how to fight." She said, hopping up off the bed and punching a fist forward. "And one day I'm going to go and own them all! I'm ready about as strong as them strength wise. I just need to work on my moves and grow a little more; it's what the milk is for." She said winking over at Ally. |

[[ ooc - i love that you mixed up ally and me :P ]] She burst out laughing, hoping but still yet knowing better that the girl was telling the honest truth. The image of someone shoving a maid - or a girl in a maid outfit? - into a closet was comical but also disturbing. Part of her wanted to ask what else had been going on in the situation, but thought better of it. She might not need to know at the moment... Though in a moment she sobered up, her mouth becoming a little 'o' as she began to understand the girl's situation better. "Oooooohhhhh," she said slowly, slightly surprised. While their situations seemed to be very similar - they were night and day different. She wondered about the details, how she'd met people from such varied backgrounds and how she'd gotten around like that. Her own life had been kept rather simple which left her rather naive. "Well it's really good that you have goals, but is beating people up that you care about a good goal?" She laughed a bit at that, running her hand through her bangs, "The milk though, that's a good idea. So how did you get involved with so many people from across the world to train with?" |

(ooc) lol oops...>.> Nijiko looked at Ally and shook her head. "That's what we all do...Is....that not normal?" She asked, tiling her head a bit in confusion. She was raised by martial artist after all; fighting was in her life all the time. Though the type of fighting she was use to was not of a violent nature, but of a competitive one. "My brothers are like my rivals. If I don't face them with everything I have, it would be mean. It would be like I'm calling them weak...or trash. And that's not fair; they are my brothers after all." She said nodding to herself. Her judgment was sound to her and was a valid point, even if she didn't understand exactly why. And when Ally asked about how she got involved with her fathers, she put her head to her chin. "Hmm...." She started, thinking for a bit. "They've been my daddies since I remember. They were always around except for when they went home. That's when I spent a year with each of them, but when I always remember them being together when I was really little. And with each of them being a master of a different martial art, I get to learn from each of them, so having four fathers is awesome!" She said, pumping a fist into the air with a smile. |

tShrugging her own bony shoulders, Ally gave the girl a grin, “Ya know, I’m no one to judge normal; it sounds like you’ve had an exciting life so far.” Though she did question the integrity of the kinds of people who would teach someone so young as Nijiko that fighting was a form of affection. Then again, Ally also had to take into consideration that this was a different place in a different time; things she could consider being completely normal could have no place in this world. The idea of different strokes for different folks had a whole new meaning now. She tucked that bit of thought away for a later time. Right now she had her roommate to get to know! “Well,” she grinned, slightly jealous of the girl’s far flung family, “your brothers and daddies sound like interesting people; do they come visit you or anything?” “I don’t have any family,” she admitted calmly. It was just how things had always been and after a while you just accept it. Sure there had been a time when it caused her a lot of pain and grief, but she'd reconciled herself to the facts and could now talk about it without any guilt or regret. She made her own life and she'd just rather be happy; facts were facts, but they didn't mean she had to act like it rained everyday. “Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have brothers and sisters like that; you’re lucky.” |

Nijiko looked over at Ally and shook her head. "I've only been gone a few weeks, there's no need for them to visit yet. Though, I'm sure they will sooner or later. I have to keep up my training and continue my studies in each art. They said that I should have some time away from them and I'm enjoying it so far." She said with a wide grin. "And brothers aren't that great. They are weird sometimes." She said, giggling to herself for a moment. "Like, my oldest brother is always busy and never at home. He's only really around for training and stuff. And one of my other brothers is a huge fan of anime or manga or whatever it's called. I know it's from here, so I’m sure he'll come to visit me first!" Nijiko said supporting herself with her free hand as she leaned back a bit. "Though....it's pretty sad that you don't have a family. Maybe you should just start one! That shouldn't be too hard right?" |

Laughter was infectious and she found herself giggling along with the smaller girl, imagining that it could be quite a trial if she had as many as she was letting on to. Ally wasn't so unfamiliar with the idea of having siblings; she'd grown up surrounded by herds of kids, some of them acting more like family than others, others acting more like miniature gangs. It was an interesting dynamic if one wanted to just sit on the outside and study it - to experience it and grow up in it was another thing. "Start a family?" That had her laughing a bit more, cheeks coloring at where her mind went with that idea. Sure she had plans along that line for the future but not really right now in her mind. "I think I'm a little too young to start a family," she winked, grinning, and pulled herself up to lean against the wall. "So then how long have you been here? This'll be starting my second school year here," one hand went up to brush her hair out of her face, her eyes roving over the instruments and up to the wall, "It's an interesting place, I'll tell you that. I'm sure your brothers will have a lot to see when they come visit you - maybe they'll be jealous?" Her stomach rumbled, reminding her that eventually it too needed attention. She'd been up and about for so long that she'd just gone about her own business without much regard to her midsection. Though appearances might be deceiving and one would assume from looking at her that Ally didn't much care for food, the direct opposite was true. She ate far more than one would think possible and still yet never expanded outwards, only up - making her look like a tall, walking beanpole. "Sorry, seams it's been a while since I last ate." |

Nijiko looked at Ally and blinked. "Too young....?" She questioned tilting her head. "My family was started when I was still a baby, you can't be too young to start a family." She said to her new roommate, obviously having a completely different meaning of starting a family. "I'm sure you have some one you can start a family with. If not, I'll be happy to induct you into mine. I'm the only girl, so having another one around would be cool!" She said smiling and giving Ally a thumbs up. Nijiko was going to answer her next question, but as her stomach started to rumble, Nijiko chuckled a bit and shook her head. "It's not good to not eat! You don't have any muscle on you as it is. Maybe...you should get some food from the place down there!" She said; pointing in the general direction that Soylent Hall was in. |

Alright, complete misunderstandings equaled laughter and Ally liked to laugh. "Oh my," she tried to talk around laughing - but it didn't work too well. "Nijiko," still yet more giggling, "I'm too young to have babies." Taking a deep breath she sat back up, leaning against the wall. "I'm too old for someone to adopt me," it was a simple fact she'd accepted after turning eight. People wanted babies to cuddle and squeeze and dress up; they didn't want young children who could possibly have a lot of closet issues. True, there was a lot lost in translation - Ally was under the assumption that Nijiko was communally adopted and probably from a young enough age that it was really a family like environment - now was that truth? She didn't really know! "I do too have muscle," she protested in jest really, mock scowling at the girl. "And I do eat, I'm just not sure where it goes," she looked down at her bony, tall frame as if to suddenly have a neon sign that told her directly where the food went to - but she had a good idea. She'd gotten about an inch taller since coming to school. Supposedly she still had two to four inches to go before she was done growing! That meant she'd top off between five foot eleven to six foot one. It took a lot of food to get her that tall apparently. "I should go eat soon though. What about you?" |

Nijiko tilted her head and blinked. "Babies...? No one asked you to have babies..." She said to Ally, confused on where she got the idea of babies from. "And no one has to adopt you. You can have close friends that are just like family. And like I said, I can be your family if you want to! I've always wondered what a sister would be like." She added, looking up into the air in thought for a moment. Nijiko looked the girl over afterwards, blinking a bit and shaking her head. "If you ate you'd have more meat on you...so you don't eat. It only makes sense right?" She told her, using her "faultless" pre-teen logic. "And I've had my breakfast...kind of. I'm fine, but you can eat if you want, we can still talk." |
