Lunch in hand, Nadia led the way to the garden. She'd given some thought as to a place to bring Nathaniel, and had decided that this would be good. It was quiet, and there shouldn't be too many people about. And best of all, her dragon Dalangal liked the trees. With a cheerful chirp, the little dragon jumped off her shoulder and flew to the nearest tree. Landing on a branch up near the top, he began looking for something to play with. Siling, Nadia glanced over at Nathaniel. "We'd better be careful not to sit under any tree he's in. He has a habit of raining bark and leaves down on the ground. I don't know about you, but I'm not that fond of tree bark in my lunch." Pausing near the middle of the garden, she considered the trees around them. "So, do you want to pick one, or shall I? Of course, they all look the same, so I doubt it matters which one we choose." |

Smiling Nathaniel winced and chuckled a little. Shaking his head he replied, "No, no i'd rather not sit in any tree with him in. If i don't like the taste of dirty when i'm fighting i certainly wont like the taste of tree bark." Grinning he was about to let her choose when she said, "So, do you want to pick one, or shall I? Of course, they all look the same, so I doubt it matters which one we choose." Frowning slightly Nathaniel shook his head and said pointing with one hand, "That's not true. take that one for instance. It has more shade then the rest because it's leaves fan out more." Walking towards it he sat down beneath the shade of it and relaxed motioning for Nadia to join him with a grin. He watched Dal play around and smiled. |

After the first spoonful I promised myself to never eat muslie, or tree bark, ever again." Nathaniel scrunched up his nose and laughed. He had never heard of someone doing that and it sounded absolutely horrible. "Now i know to be careful with what i eat. Wow that's just plain mean and evil." He shook his head in disbelief and winced when he actually thought of eating bark. Nathaniel looked up at the tree then back at Nadia. he watched as she looked at the tree's leaves then said, "Still looks the same as the others. But if you say it has more shade, I guess I'll believe you." Nathaniel chukled lightly and looked down at his lap then to the side at his tray of food. He liked nature so he would often read books on it shrugging it off he closed his eyes. "I read alot on nature that's the only reason why i can see it. Besides i was trained to notice small things or analyze on area." |

Stretching ou her legs, she shifted slightly to get comfortable against the tree. Before she'd gotten her power, she would have leaned back against her hands or elbows, but now she couldn't risk it. She'd turned enough grass into ice carpets. "I read alot on nature that's the only reason why i can see it. Besides i was trained to notice small things or analyze on area." Nadia smiled at him. "That sounds interesting." Picking up her lunch tray, she set it on her lap. Picking up Dal's portion, which today was a sushi roll, she tossed it high into the air. Just when it looked like sushi would hit the ground, there was a flash of blue and white and Dal nipped it out of the air. Flying back to his tree, he settled on a branch and started pulling the roll apart. Picking up her own sushi roll, Nadia considered it. "You know, before I came to Japan, I'd never eaten raw seafood. I used to think the idea of it was gross. Just goes to show that you should never judge something before you try it." That said, she started eating. |

He had suddenly lost his appetite and he had really wanted that rice curry. No he was going to have to be more cautious then he thought. "Jeez. And i thought fighting was a way to put someone on alert. I think you told me that on purpose so that i couldn't eat." Nathaniel complained childishly with a hint of tease in his voice. A sudden yawn made him hurry to cover his mouth. Though they were in the shade the warmth was still there. The soft breeze cooled him off as well as ruffled his hair a bit. He snorted when she commented on the training being interesting and smirked. She had no idea how uninteresting it was. he watched as she threw the sushi roll into the air and guessed what was about to happen. he grinned when he saw Dal catch the roll and then begin to take it apart. he liked to watch the dragon and was amazed by it just a fraction. Another yawn caught him off gaurd and he barely heard what nadia said next, "You know, before I came to Japan, I'd never eaten raw seafood. I used to think the idea of it was gross. Just goes to show that you should never judge something before you try it." Nathaniel chuckled and watched as she leaned against the tree to get comfortable. Deciding to get comfortable also he slipped down from the sitting position and layed down on the soft grass. He folded his arms beneath his head as a sort of pillow and closed his eyes. Relaxing he said, "There are alot of things i thought i would never eat or do. But when i came here i found myself doing exactly that. For instance i never thought i would make a friend or even open up as much as i have." |

I mean, sure, trail mix is disturbing, but I never let it put me off my food." "There are alot of things i thought i would never eat or do. But when i came here i found myself doing exactly that. For instance i never thought i would make a friend or even open up as much as i have." Nadia smiled. "Before I cae here, I was worried I'd never make friends. Humans, and must metas, avoid me. And I often avoid peple, to cut down the risk that I might accidently touch someone." Shaking her head, she put the thought aside. Finishing her roll, she opened the bottle of soft drink she'd bought. Cupping her hand, she pored some of the drink into her palm. It froze instantly. Stepping the bottle down, she started eating the ice. Freezing soft drinks was her way of cutting down on the fizziness. |

I mean, sure, trail mix is disturbing, but I never let it put me off my food." Opening his eyes and rolling his head to the side so he could see her he stuck out his tongue childishly. A small pout graced his face as his lower lip stuck out just a tad bit. "I have a perfectly strong stomach that can handle any talk. It's just when it comes to thinking about what could be in the food gives me shivers." To prove his point he shuddered and made a look of mock horror. Grinning he went back to relaxing nodding off just a bit. "Before I cae here, I was worried I'd never make friends. Humans, and must metas, avoid me. And I often avoid peple, to cut down the risk that I might accidently touch someone." Nathaniel watched as she froze the soft drink and ate it. He grinned slightly impressed and awed. Putting his hands infront of him he imagined the blue flame and the cold that comes with it. Opening his eyes he grinned victoriously as the baby head sized flame formed in his hand. He tossed it from hand to hand as it hovered slightly above it not making contact with his skin. He liked to toss it around like a baseball sometimes. He could feel the cold radiating off of it. |

Nadia made a face at Nathaniel when he stuck out his tongue. "I have a perfectly strong stomach that can handle any talk. It's just when it comes to thinking about what could be in the food gives me shivers." She couldn't help but laugh whe he shuddered. "Then I'll be careful not to mention what goes into certain foods. Because my mum likes cooking, so I know the ingredience for all sorts of things." Muching on her soft drink ice, Nadia watch with amazement as a ball of blue flame formed in Nathaniel's hand. She watched as he tossed it from hand to hand. Fascinated, she reached out to touch it with a finger tip. She then pulled back in surprise when she felt the cold from it. She rubbed her finger. "I actually felt that. It must be really cold." |

Nathaniel laughed when she made a face at him and threw one back at her. He was enjoying himself much to his surprise and he liked to hang out with Nadia. "Then I'll be careful not to mention what goes into certain foods. Because my mum likes cooking, so I know the ingredience for all sorts of things." Nathaniel paled slightly and gulped, this time shudering for real. He gave her a weak smile and said, "You just love teasing me. I'm gonna have nightmares for a week abo9ut food." His teasing tone back he sat up to be more comfortable while tossing the flame around. He grinned as she watched the flame in amazement, happy with himself. He was too late to warn her when she reached out to touch it. he looked at her worriedly when she pulled back quickly after touching it. "Are you okay? I should have warned you that it's not a regular flame. It's an ice flame that super cold so that it burns." he grinned slightly still felling a little guilty that he hadn't warned her when he saw her rubbing her fingers. "I actually felt that. It must be really cold." Nathaniel chuckled and stopped tossing the ball leaving it one hand. He could already fell the cold beginning to touch his skin. Turned his arm around so she could see the burn on his arm from where the cold flame touched him. "This is what happened when i tried to keep it going longer than the time limit i have. It was so cold that whe it touched my skin it went through my skin and almost to my muscle. I had to throw it away. It's below freezing." |

Nadia struggled with a snicker when Nathaniel paled slightly when she told him that she knew what went into foods. "You just love teasing me. I'm gonna have nightmares for a week abo9ut food." She gave him a cheeky grin. "Well, my younger brother isn't here, so I need someone to tease. I could tell you the nice things that go into yummy food, if that would make you feel better." As Nadia rubbed her cold fingers, she could see that she'd worried Nathaniel. "Are you okay? I should have warned you that it's not a regular flame. It's an ice flame that super cold so that it burns." Her brows rose. "That actually causes burns? Wow." She leaned closer to peer at the burn on his arm. "This is what happened when i tried to keep it going longer than the time limit i have. It was so cold that whe it touched my skin it went through my skin and almost to my muscle. I had to throw it away. It's below freezing." Nadia considered the ball. "Well, all I got were cold fingers. I'm not used to feelin the cold, so it surprised me." Curious, she reached out and stuck her whole hand into the ball of blue flame. Her hand went cold, but not painfully so. She certainly wasn't getting any ice burns. Pulling her hand back, she wiggled her fingers. "I guess not feeling the cold has a few perks, aside from not having to worry about getting cold feet in winter." |

Huffing Nathaniel pouted and turned his face away from her in childish annoyance. But not before he stuck his tongue out at her and said, "Meanie! remember this when i'm teasing you." Nathaniel suddenly thought about his own brother and sighed feeling alittle nostalgic. "That actually causes burns? Wow.Well, all I got were cold fingers. I'm not used to feelin the cold, so it surprised me. I guess not feeling the cold has a few perks, aside from not having to worry about getting cold feet in winter." Nathaniel nearly had a heartattack when she stuck her whole hand back into the flame. Glaring at her he scowled and said in a scolding tone, "Don't do that! Jeez i almost died of fright!" Just as he said that his time limit came up and he felt the burning sensation on his hand as the cold fully touched it. Yelping he tossed the ball away from him and it landed on the grass. it stayed there flaring up and turning that patch of grass into ice. As he rubbed his hand gingerly, Nathaniel glared at the offending blue flame. And it began to fade until it was no more and Nathaniel grumbled darkly. |

Nadia's offer to talk about nice ingredience didn't get the reception she wanted. Instead, it earned her another look at Nathaniel's tongue. "Meanie! remember this when i'm teasing you." She shrugged. "I don't mind being teased. Probably because there isn't much I can be teased about and I ignore it. So tease away." Nathaniel didn't seem to approve of her sticking her hand into the ball of flame. He scowled at her and scolded her. "Don't do that! Jeez i almost died of fright!" He then yelped and tossed the ball away. The ball landed on the grass, flared up and iced over a patch of grass. Leaning closed, Nadia considered the ice-covered grass as the ball faded. The grass looked much like it did when she put her bare hand down on a patch of it. Nothing new there. She turned to Nathaniel. "Why did you freak out so much when I stuck my hand in the flame? I already said that it didn't burn me. There was nothing to worry about." She held her unharmed hand. "See? It doesn't even feel all that cold anymore. That flame would haveto be a whole lot colder if it's going to hurt me." |

Crossing his arms over his chest he stuck his nose in the air ingoring her for the moment. "Why did you freak out so much when I stuck my hand in the flame? I already said that it didn't burn me. There was nothing to worry about." Nathaniel glanced at her hand and quickly looked away satisfied but still trying to show he wasn't happy. "See? It doesn't even feel all that cold anymore. That flame would haveto be a whole lot colder if it's going to hurt me." Nathaniel sighed and finally gave up on the whole things so he could explain. "That's only because i had no hurting intent. If i did the flame would have been colder." Shrugging his shoulders he laid back down and closed his eyes before he continued, "Anyway i can't help it. It's a natural instinct for me to worry even if someone says that they can't be hurt by something. I suppose you can say it's from experience." Nathaniel relaxed his body and felt his mind drifting through his thoughts while keeping himself alert enough to listen to Nadia. |

If i did the flame would have been colder. Anyway i can't help it. It's a natural instinct for me to worry even if someone says that they can't be hurt by something. I suppose you can say it's from experience." Nadia nodded. "Yeah, I an understand that. It's the same for me whenever I touch someone. I'm always worried I'll hurt them or something. Can make life rather difficult." Drawing her knees up, she wrapped her arms around them and sighed. The thing she missed most was being able to touch others. No-one ever appresiated the simple act of being of hold someone's hand, or giving a hug, or sharing a kiss. Nadia certainly hadn't, and now all that was closed to her. |

He noticed she seemes to be in thought but also she seemed alittle sad to him. He wondered how long ago it had been since she could touch someone. Flipping over to his stomach he rested his head against his arms as he looked at her. "How long has it been since you've touched someone?" |

Nathaniel felt his stomach squirm and he shuddered. he caught Nadia's look and glared at her menacingly. "You are pure evil. You just love to see me tortured. But i will not fall for it so try as hard as you want." Shuddering again he realized he really shouldn't have said that as she really could torture him with that. he was a delicate eater as it was this was only gonna make him go on a diet. "Without my power turning their skin ice cold? About a year, give or take a month." Frowning he suddenly got an idea and smiled. reaching out one of his hands he held it out for hers. "Gimme your hand. Don't worry about the cold though." he was still laying down on his stomach and he looked at his untouched food frowning slightly. His appetite all but gone because of his new friend and he vowed silently to get her for that one. |

Finishing the second sushi roll, she made some more soft drink ice. Condisering the oval of ice for a moment, she offered it to him. "Here. This should settle that silly stomach of yours." "Gimme your hand. Don't worry about the cold though." She stared at his hand, then looked at her own. She bit her lip. "Are you sure? I...I don't want to hurt you." Her eyes, when they met his, showed all the messy emotions swirling inside her. |

"You're just too easy. Here. This should settle that silly stomach of yours." That comment earned her a level glare before it softened when he saw what she offered. Smiling shyly he took it and ate it slowly and amazingly it did make him feel better. Alot better then he would have imagined and would truthfully admit. Sighing he relaxed more and his stomach finally stopped rumbling and protesting. Grinning as he finished it he said, "Thanks a bunch." "Are you sure? I...I don't want to hurt you." That earned her a roll of his eyes and an exasperated sigh. Looking at her with a grin on his face he tried to make his words sound sarcastic but they came out soft and caring, "Do you really think I'd offer if i thought i would get hurt or it would bother me? remember how i acted when you stuck your hand in my ice flame and know that i would never do anything that would put myself in serious danger or pain." He knew that wasn 't totally true because if someone he cared about was in danger he would throw himself in harms way without even thinking. |

Nadia's peace offering of the iced soft drink seem to do the trick. "Thanks a bunch." She smiled. "No problem. After all, I'm the one who unsettled your stomach in the first place." Picking up the sweet she'd bought, she broke off a piece. The sweet was something she hadn't tried before though it looked like bacleva, something she loved. She offered it to Nathaniel. "Here. No hard feelings? I promise not to talk about what goes into food, unless I have a very good reason." "Do you really think I'd offer if i thought i would get hurt or it would bother me? remember how i acted when you stuck your hand in my ice flame and know that i would never do anything that would put myself in serious danger or pain." She considered him for a moment, then nodded. "Okay. But if it gets too cold, I want you to let go." Taking a deep breath, she held out her hand. |

"No problem. After all, I'm the one who unsettled your stomach in the first place." Nathaniel huffed and feigned annoyance as he said, "Got that right." He grinned at the girl when she offered him a piece of her sweet and said, "Here. No hard feelings? I promise not to talk about what goes into food, unless I have a very good reason." He eyed the sweet then her for a few moments before tentively reaching out for it. He studied it for a while wondering what it would taste like before taking a small bite from it. The minute he began to chew and delicious flavor filled hit mouth and he made and exclamaition of pure happiness. "This is really good!" Nathaniel chewed happily almost like a child with a new toy or with candy. Nathaniel watched as she considered taking his hand and grinned when she finally agreed. Nodding his head in agreement to her term he gently and slowly took her hand. He was surprised that it wasn't painfully cold like his ice flame was. There was a slight discomfort and a small pinch like feeling but nothing that would make him pull away. Instead it was actually quite comforting in a way. He intwined her fingers with his and held it up for her to see and grinned laying his head back on his other arm. Grinning he said joyfully, "See it doesn't bother or hurt. I guess when you've been subjected to burning cold ice flames for all your life it doesn't come with a problem." He winked playfully at her and his grin widened alittle. |

"Got that right." Nadia's mouth twitched when Nathaniel tentively took the sweet from her and took a small bite of it. The twitch turned into a smile as she watched the suspicion on his face turn to pleasure. "This is really good!" She laughed. "Oh really? A sweet tasting good. Fancy that." Nadia watched Nathaniel closely as he took her hand, ready to pull back at the first sing of pain. She held her breath as their hands touched. That breath came out in a rush when he showed no pain. Then, he surprised her by intertwining their fingers. Nadia stared at their joined hands. It had been so long since she'd felt the touch of another's hand that it was like feeling the sensation for the first time. "See it doesn't bother or hurt. I guess when you've been subjected to burning cold ice flames for all your life it doesn't come with a problem." Tears gathered in her eyes. She was actually holding someone's hand, and she wasn't hurting them. She met Nathaniel's gaze, a world of emotion swirling in her eyes. Then she smiled a smile that was like the sun coming out. She curled her fingers over the back of his hand. "Thank you." |

"Oh really? A sweet tasting good. Fancy that." Nathaniel stuck out his tongue and laughed finishing off the tasty treat. The warmth of the sun made him slightly drowsy and he took up his soft drink that was slightly cooler than when he first got it. Taking a healthy gulp he turned his attention to Nadia again. When he saw her eyes water he dropped the drink on the ground. Sitting up on his knees he looked her over panicking a little. But when he felt her own cool fingers curl over his warm ones and the emotions swirling in her eyes caught him off gaurd. Her smile made him blush pink but her words made his blush bright red. "Thank you." Coughing and looking away embarrassed he said, "It's no biggie." Then giving her hand a comforting squeeze he looked at her and smiled encouraingly. Laying back down on his back he avoided the now no good drink and closed his eyes. "It's the least i can do for a Kindred spirit. besides i've never gotten close to someone like how close i am with you. I usually keep people at a distance this is nice." Nathaniel felt his cheeks heat up as he admitted this but didn't try to hide it. he felt a bit awkward not hiding his feelings and leaving himself defenseless. |

Nadia could tell that her display of emotion was making Nathaniel uncomfortable, but she couldn't help it. Wether he knew it or not, he'd given her an unimaginable gift. Here was someone that she wouldn't have to be constantly on her guard with. She didn't have to worry about hurting him. "It's no biggie." Nadia didn't bother correcting, but just kept on smiling. Her smile brightened, if that was possible, when he gave her had a squeeze and smiled at her. "It's the least i can do for a Kindred spirit. besides i've never gotten close to someone like how close i am with you. I usually keep people at a distance this is nice." Nadia laughed, the tears clearing from her eyes. "Try having to watch ever move you make, every moment of the day." Noticing the drink he'd spilt, she touched it with a fingertip, freezing it. "Now you won't get wet." She smiled at him. "I've never gotten as close to anyone like I have with you, too." She glanced at their joined hands. Nathaniel thought about this and knew that the life she was living was a hard one. a life that noone should be living and he also found that it was a lonely life. Nathaniel looked when she studied his drink and was surrisesd when she froze it for him. "Now you won't get wet." Grinning at her he said, "Thanks a bunch, Nana-chan." Nthaniel grinned wickedly when he used the nickname he thought up for her. He never used one with anyone and it seemed like the best oppertunity to him. He hoped she wouldn't mind to much that he did use it but it caught him off gaurd when she said, "I've never gotten as close to anyone like I have with you, too." nathnaiel frowned slightly and thought about this unsure of why not and he decided to voice this. "other than the whole touching issue i don't see why not. You have a great personality." Nathaniel blushed slightly at his words as he hadn't meant to say the last part aloud. Looking away from her again he watched Dal with half-hearted interest until she pulled his attention back by saying, "You're certainly the first person I've felt safe being around." nathaniel felt joy go through him to know shhe felt safe around him but then he remembered him. He quickly sobered and looked away from her knowing being around him was the least safe thing. He squeezed her hand as he looked back at her with a sad smile and quietly said, "Me too." Slowly as not to give her the idea he dis liked it he untwined their fingers and sat up to look at the sky. Sighing he thought about how much he hated the way that single thought could ruin everything. |

Well, a childhood friend had called her Nad once, but she'd refused to answer to that. Nadia considered this new name. It wasn't that bad, on the whole. "other than the whole touching issue i don't see why not. You have a great personality." Nadia sighed, though there was warmth in her eyes to show how much she liked what he'd said. "I used to have a lot of friends, but nowadays all anybody ever sees is Dal and what happens when I touch water. Things usually go downhill from there." Being told that she felt safe with him seemed to please Nathaniel, but then the joy in his eyes disappeared and he looked away. Nadia frowned slightly, concerned. Had she said something wrong? She was going to ask, to see what was wrong, when he squeeze her hand. "Me too." Nadia felt relieved, but she was still a bit concerned about what had made him look away. Of course, maybe it wasn't her that was the reason. Maybe she'd reminded him of something bad. She wanted to ask him about it, to help him through whatever was troubling him, but she kept her peace. She didn't want to spoil things. She felt a surge of disappointment when he let her hand go, but shoved it down. She couldn't expect him to keep holding her hand. And now that she knew she wouldn't hurt him she wouldn't have to worry about every sight brush of skin. |

Nathaniel was relieved that she didn't seem to mind the nickname at all. it was his first time giving someone a nickname. He looked over his shoulder at her when she began to speak and he noticed that warm look in her eyes though her words were a little sad. "I used to have a lot of friends, but nowadays all anybody ever sees is Dal and what happens when I touch water. Things usually go downhill from there." Nathaniel hummed in understanding and acknowledgement because he knew what she was going through. He remembered his own "friends" and how they had freaked when they saw his powers. It was always the same with the normals and some of the meta's. Awe at first them misplaced fear and terror at what they didn't understand. His friends had turned their backs on him and left him to die. Then there was...that. Shaking his head he looked back at her and caught the disapointment when there hands untwined. Chuckling he turned his whole body to face her and grinned brightly feeling light. Clapping his hands together like an excited child he said, "Well that's too bad...for them at least. now i get to have you all to myself along with Dal and i don't wanna share." Nathaniel crossed his arms over his chest and pouted like a possesive child looking at his favorite toy. Then winking he grinned wickedly and holding his hand out he wiggled his fingers around alittle then he said, "And whenever you want you can take my hand to see that you have at least one person who you can touch and you can lean on. or when your feeling bad or angry you can come to me." Nodding as if to confirm it with himself Nathaniel laughed enjoying having his first friend since a very long time. |

He grinned brightly and let how greatful he was to her show in his eyes so she knew that he was being serious now. "You've done alot for me, Nadia. I thought this was going to be my worst idea ever but having you around made me change my mind." Nathaniel sighed and looked away wondering what he would do if he found out Nathaniel was getting close to someone. "That's good to know. Though, you do realize that I'm going to take you on your word. So if we happen to be in class together and I feel like holding your hand, I'll just come over and do that.If I do that more than once, people will start wondering if we're dating." They'll just be jealous. Jealous that i have a beautiful girl holding my hand and they don't." Nadia blinked, caught by surprise. A faint blush spread across her cheeks. No one have ever called her beautiful before. "Do you really think I'm pretty?" There was some uncertainty in her eyes. Her shyness, and the reactions she got from people had eroded her self-confidence. |

Nathaniel shook his head trying to get rid of his trail of thought, his mood sobering slighty but when Dal began to chitter and Nadia replied something caught his interest. Tilting his head in curiousity he asked, "How is it that you understand Dal?" Nathaniel's words were rewarded with a blush from the girl and he grinned. But when her next words came his grin turned to a soft smile. In all sincerety he took her hand in his and said, "Not pretty..." Nathaniel left it like that for a few seconds to see if she would panic but then said gently, "Beautiful...Kind of like the purity of new fallen snow." Nathaniel blushed scarelet and looked away sighing, "You, Nadia, Are a mystery to me..." |

"How is it that you understand Dal?" Blinking, Nadia dropped her gaze from Dal to Nathaniel. Frowning, she thought for a moment. "Well, it's a bit hard to explain. I don't actually know what each sound he makes means, unless he's talking in English, but I know what he wants to say." Her frown deepened. "That didn't come out right. The best way I can up with to explain it is that I sort of know what he's thinking. Because it was my life-force that brought him to life, we're connect. He has his own life-force now, but it's intertwined with the bit of mine that's still in him. Because of that, we can get impressions of what the other is thinking." Her frown cleared bit. "You know, my mum thinks that because part of my life-force is what keeps Dal alive, if I died so would he. We do know that if I get hurt, Dal is affected as well." "Not pretty..." Nadia frowned at him, her eyes going icy. She was about to leap to her feet and storm off, when his next words stopped her. "Beautiful...Kind of like the purity of new fallen snow." Nadia gaped at him, her mouth falling open. Her mind went blank. She tried to pull her thoughts back, to find something to say, but she just couldn't. No-one, ever, had called her beautiful, and they certainly hadn't likened her to something as poetic as that. "You, Nadia, Are a mystery to me..." That shocked her even more. "A mystery, me? I...I don't know what to say." |

Nathaniel listened intently to Nadia's explaniation undersstanding what she meant. It reminded him of telepathy alittle in certain ways. He thought deeply on her words but couldn't get the whole meaning of how they communicate. shrugging it off he looked up at Dal and said, "I guess it's just one of those things that never meant to be understood,. Right, Dal?" Nathaniel directed that last part to the little dragon grinning alittle. He loved the way it looked and was still in utter awe of a dragon being around. He couldn't understand why people wouldn't want to be around these two. nathaniel frowned at her expression and realized this was one that he never wanted to see on her face again. Hias eyes lit up though when she seemed to be speechless about what he said. She voiced the fact that she didn't know what to say and he laughed merrily. Shaking his head at her he squeezed her hands and said, "You don't have to say anything. I'm happy to let you know. You have a great personality and great looks." Nathaniel winked at her grinnign deviously. |

"I guess it's just one of those things that never meant to be understood,. Right, Dal?" The miniature dragon chirped and scampered down the tree trunk until he was perched just above Nathaniel. He then made a series of sounds. Nadia smiled. "Dal says that knowing that some things just aren't meant to be understood is the first step to wisdom. I'm not sure if he's right, but he thinks he is." Dal chittered and then Nadia rolled her eyes. "No, you are not always right. Nobody is." The little dragon flicked his tail and scrambled up into the branches of the tree again. "You don't have to say anything. I'm happy to let you know. You have a great personality and great looks." Nadia could think of only one way to show how much his words meant to her. It was something she hadn't been able to do since her powers had awakened and this seemed the perfect time for it. Leaning forward, she hugged him. "Thank you." |

Nathaniel looked up at the small dragon as he chittered to him talking. Nathaniel smiled alittle wondering what it would be like to have such a girft as to be able to undersstand him. he listened intently as nadia translated and bantered lightly with the small dragon. He let a soft chuckle escape before saying, "There are always mysteries in the world and not all of them are meant to be figured out. But to have the unknwon out there just means that there are more adventures to take more things to be explored. more fun to be had and experienced an that is the beauty of mysteries." nathaniel smiled lightly as he looked up at the sky, waatching the clouds move at their slow pace in the sky. he wsa pleased that Nadia seemed happy with his words but he wasn't prepared for when she hugged him and said, "Thank you." Nathaniel stayed there for a moment rigid with shock and unssure what to do. he hadn't been hugged since he was a small boy. Slowly he wrapped his arms around her and returned the hug warmly a small smile on his face as he said gently, "No. Thank you." her cool skin was comforting to nathaniel and he laid his head on her shoulder sighing. His memories came rushin back of his mother and fathers smiling faces. His fathers rough but warm kisses, his mothers soothing hugs. And of course his brothers playful laugh and carefree smile then before he knew it Nathaniel let out a soft sob. He said in a choked voice filled with gratitude, "Thank you so much. I haven't been hugged by anyone sice my parents died when i was around six." nathaniel could relay to Nadia how much this meat to him. |

Thinking maybe he didn't like being hugged, she started to draw away, but then he slowly put his arms around her. Letting out a sigh of relief, she rested her chin on his shoulder. "No. Thank you." Then after a few moments he let out a soft sob. "Thank you so much. I haven't been hugged by anyone sice my parents died when i was around six." Nadia tightened her grip. She couldn't imagine how awful it must have been for him to have lost his parents at such a young age. The mere thought of loosing one of her own was to horrible. How much worse must it have been for him? She ran her hand up and down his back, offering comfort. "Well, seeing as I can hold your hand any time I want, you can hug me any time you feel like it." She wasn't sure if those were the right words, but she felt that saying things like how sorry she was that he'd lost his parents and other things that he'd probably heard countless times before would have been wrong. When she'd lost her grandfather, she'd gotten sick and tired of people telling her that they felt sorry for her loss and that they were there for her. Such words never helped, anyway, so she thought that wordless support would be better. |

A single mistake, a single miscalculation would mean disaster and death. Sighing he shook the dark thoughts from his head and paid attention to the thoughts of now. "Well, seeing as I can hold your hand any time I want, you can hug me any time you feel like it." The combination between Nadia's words and her soothing movements got Nathaniel to calm down. He burried his face in her shoulder and sighed deeply a small chuckle escaped. It was funny how things turned outand he was glad she didn't say the words people usually said when they hear you lost someone. Giving her a little squeeze around the waist he said, "It's funny how words can be used for more than one person. Not long ago i was saying that to you and now look. Fate has a funny way of showing she's paying attention to our worries and dreams." Nathaniel felt safe the way he was, he was reminded of the way his mother use to hold him when he had a nightmare. He prayed silently that he would be able to keep this friend and unlike the rest, he hoped that she wouldn't turn her back on him. |

"Of course, if that was true, I'd wish that we can always be friends." She sighed softly, a sound of relief, and shifted her chin on his shoulder slightly. "I hope you don't mind, but I'm not planing on moving for a few minutes. I'm savoring my first hug in over a year." Being able to touch people, above everything else, had been what she missed the most. Even touching Nathaniel's hand had been a miracle for her. This was beyond anything she could have dreamed. |

Nathaniel chuckled and said in a mock scholary voice, "Such good points you bring up little miss. where did you get so smart?" nathaniel laughed lightly as she said, "Of course, if that was true, I'd wish that we can always be friends." Nathaniel leaned back a bit so he could see her face though his hands remained wrapped around her, he smiled gently and asked, "Who says we can't? i plan on sticking around, how bout you?" Nathaniel was slightly caught of gaurd when she shifted and said, "I hope you don't mind, but I'm not planing on moving for a few minutes. I'm savoring my first hug in over a year." He shrugged his shoulders a little and chuckled to hide the blush that was covering his cheeks at her words. "I don't mind at all. Hold on for a minute though." Nathaniel moved so that he was leaning against the tree and Nadia was leaning against him, his hands comfortably around her. A little yawn escaped his mouth and he blushed before saying, "Hey Nadia do you have a family?" Nathaniel had his eyes closed resting them from the suns rays, he felt relaxed and calm. More than he usually did. he was sure that it was close to noon already by the way the sun looked in the sky. |
