(It happened because she couldn't help that it happened. It went on before and it find its way again...into the core of her consciousness. Late at night, the lights of the room were off. Everything was pitch black, thoroughly impossible to see anything in here...unless your species had a penchant for night vision. In the case of Elisa, this was so. However, at this time, she was not trying to see in the dark. In fact, she wasn't seeing anything right now. Elisa was asleep, had been so five hours. Anyone who knew about her...knew that she was strong - perilously so - and mostly self-reliant. Indeed, she was almost too stubborn to ask for anyone's help for anything else, when you considered she was tough enough to take a flying leap off of a tall building and live to tell about it, despite landing head-first. Her durability was a testament to her heritage, which she did not speak of, and her will was something that could not be sunk except under extreme circumstance. Given that, it is to be said...that such circumstance was not impossible.)

Elisa: Nnngh...

(On the outside, Elisa is a well-made fortress. But as fortresses go, it holds the double-meaning of keeping its contents well-hidden. Under all of that, there still lies a teenaged girl, a girl who has seen and done much. In some cases, she herself felt that too much had been done. Physically, she was impressive. And mentally, she was probably smarter than many others matching her apparent age. But there in lies the trick. Her apparent age was always a lies, and there were some things that had been arrested because no program could accelerate their development. Elisa's emotions were always unstable, not necessarily by choice. That was something she might carry with her until she died. If you knew her past, maybe you'd understand. But then again...if you knew her past, you might also despise her. So, all the insecurity that is never shown is mostly walled up inside. And, with only small exception, that side of her is never shown if she can help it. Elisa never opens up. Hence...the nightmares.)

Elisa: Nnnnn...no...

(She lay in bed, wearing dark greenish cargo pants and a black shirt, asleep but...visibly disturbed by something. Involuntary motions, such as her legs or arms twitching on occasion, were going on, and her face was a mask of either pain, sorrow, fear, or a combination of those things. There was a term for what was being leaked out into her mind: The return of the repressed. It referred to everything you consciously bury pulling itself out again subconsciously, leading to different kinds of neurosis or - at the very least - bad dreams. Freud would have alot to see about Elisa's mental condition, but Freud is a nutcase and shouldn't be taken too seriously. Plus, she'd've killed him on the spot for implying certain things. However, if a competent psycho-analyzer was able to work on Elisa, he would be able to declare - without fear of refutement - that she had issues.)

Elisa: Father...stop...

(Father issues, among other things. Maybe not in the sense YOU understand them, though. Elisa was the devoted daughter, who acted in his name in order to do him proud and to do credit to his name. That would be the sort of thing a a person raised in Moonia would do, and Elisa was such a person. However, all strengths and determinations aside, right now...she looked uncharacteristically vulnerable. Elisa worked hard to keep people under the impression that she was unbreakable. But as far as the fortress analogy goes, she has walls of strength because inside...she is lost, afraid, confused, and in pain. And while she was fine with keeping that bottled up, her subconscious had other ideas, leaving Elisa defenseless before her own guilt and fears. In that sense, she was her own worst enemy.)

"Okay sis, I love you too. Tell dad that I'll be over to visit the compound later this week."

Sorns closed up his cell phone as he sighed softly. It was one of those late nights within the Togami compound. His grandfather had been stepping up their speed training, but it was his grandmother Seran that had him staying extra hours. She had been training him to be able to take a gun and be able to assemble and break down his weapon at almost the drop of a hat. If anything Sorns had usually been all thumbs when it came to being able to build and break down that equipment. He was more of a hands on kind of person. In his grandmother's eyes, he was very much like his grandfather. But there was some things that he had been thinking about. He had been adding more notes about the Sanguine style that he had been creating and was thinking about setting a few of those abilities in motion.

However, it was going to wait for now. Sorns had yet to be able to rest in his own bed back at AHS. The last few weeks had for the lack of a better word been a whirlwind. As he yawned softly, he stepped through the hallways of the dorms with a calm but sleepy expression. As his feet echoed through the somewhat empty halls, his mind went to Elisa. His mind went to when she opened up to him in South America. If anything, he wanted to help her out. She once asked him why he would try to help her out despite what she did. To be honest, he might not have know what she did before, but was he really one to judge with things done in the past? His parents, or more specifically his grandparents, have not been known as black and white like many of the past students of AHS. His grandmother was a weapons maker and dealer. He wouldn't even be surprised if he saw weapons from her used by other nations. His grandfather and great grandfather were both genetic experiments. So in the eyes of the blood slayer: it didn't matter to him what she was in the past. He knew only the Elisa of right now and he considered as a good friend.

Opening the door, he could hear Elisa in her room. Something seemed to be wrong, so he carefully walked through the room to see her shifting around in her bed. Whatever it might be, it was something very intense that she must have been dreaming about. He sat down next to her as he held her hand. It was cheesy, but he did care about her. That everything was said from his concern as he looked at the expression of pain that she had on her face. He had seen her in a vulnerable status, so to him it must have been a bad dream in regards of what happened in South America and she was thinking about this "Enclave". As he held her hand, he then spoke softly. "Elisa."

(However, it didn't quite register the same way as he would have expected.)

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

"ELISA!"

(A terrible voice spoke her name over a torrent on a familiar battleground. It was the middle of the pacific, where she and Jake fought, but instead...circumstances were different. She was being surrounded and overpowered by the only person who had any right to out-class her. His anger-filled voice cut down to her soul. He was angry... Why, dammit, WHY?! She struggled to get away, to free herself from the torrent, but it was too powerful...)

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

(As a result, Elisa subconsciously struggled in a number of frantic still-asleep-and-frightened-like-hell motions, sounding vaguely like she was in a most deadly sort of fight. The hand that Sorns had taken suddenly clamped tight, as in as tight as possible by Elisa standards. That's like putting a human hand in a vice and twisting the lever to certain breaking points. Though still decidedly unconscious, the sounds she was making and the way her ears flattened out indicated great fear from her. This was not like her AT ALL. It'd take more than a bunch of suits to get a reaction like this from her.)

Elisa: Leave me alone... Please...

(And she never said 'please'.)

"..."

Sorns clenched his teeth when she began to grip his hand even harder. A clear sign of pain was on the blood slayer's face as he could only imagine the level of her grip going up to the point of a vice. Whatever the case maybe: she didn't seem to be waking up anytime soon. But as he continued to work through the pain that he had been inflicted with, he heard something from Elisa that he never thought he would ever show or even hear: she was in fear of something, but more importantly she was begging for it to stop. Clearly whatever nightmare she was having was shaking her to the very core. Could this be about the Enclave? He remembered the fear she had with them, but from how hard she was gripping his hand, it had to be something more. Feeling the pain in his hand, he went down on one knee. He was careful not to yell out in pain because he had a feeling it would set her off in some way that would involve him and a Sorns shaped hole in the adjacent wall to her bed. As he clenched his teeth, he spoke to her softly next to her flattened ear. "Elisa, this is Sorns. I don't know what is going on, but you need to wake up. If you can't know that I am nearby if you ever need help." He wasn't sure if that would really work on her. Despite the pain he was feeling, he needed to get Elisa out of whatever torment she is feeling.

"Elisa, this is Sorns. I don't know what is going on, but you need to wake up. If you can't, know that I am nearby if you ever need help."

(Elisa fidgeted in bed, still looking totally terrified, but something had also clicked, and in a short moment...her eyes shot open wide. Her eyes opened, she breathed in sharply, and sat upright in bed suddenly. As a result, Sorns' hand was released because she was now sitting and hugging her knees, her face buried in those knees. Breathing rapidly, though slowing down gradually, it sounded like...like she was crying. Okay, who are you and what've you done with the real Elisa? Well, no... This was the real Elisa alright. It was just that through all the hardline tough stuff, she was shaking and practically whimpering. She was awake, though, and don't you dare think that she had forgotten that Sorns was there. She lifted her head up and looked back just enough to give him a dark glare.)

Elisa: Don't you dare tell anyone about this.

(She relented in her glare, then, resting her head on her knees for the moment.)

Elisa: Still...I guess you know now, what I'm really like. The whole picture. I can be just as human as anybody...

(From there, she pounded the bed once in frustration.)

Elisa: And why not?! I'm half-human anyway!

(Right now, she was caught between misery and anger and almost out of control. It was small wonder she didn't want anyone to see her like this, including Sorns, but she'd allowed him this. She let him in enough to see her when she was more emotional and vulnerable than ever before. Her own nightmares shook her terribly, and this one had happened to be a doozy. Normally, you just don't even want to know what Elisa dreams about. Tonight, though...things were a little much for her. There was a mountain of trouble on her mind every time she had bad dreams. Before Sorns, Elisa was alone when coming down from these experiences, and the solution to such events could involve anything from brooding to leaping out into the night to go do something horrible, to make someone feel worse than she did. This didn't look like the time for leaping out windows. And that was because of Sorns.)

Elisa: I don't know what to do with myself...

At first Sorns didn't really say anything. He had stayed in his sitting position as she kept the vicegrip upon his hand. As she released his hand, it felt the floodgates were opened. All of the blood that had been cut off from his hand had returned back into his fingers. If anything, his hand was now limp from the vice grip. It was worth it knowing that Elisa was okay. Well, okay in the sense that she wasn't going to be going insane in her sleep. As the feeling came back to his fingers, he looked her over carefully. Something clearly shook her up badly. Though he knew that there was strength in her, he knew there was something more behind the strength. After all, she showed some of it when they were in South America. But as he looked at her, a sweatdrop went down the side of his head when she gave him a glare that could probably even stop the most stalwart of people. He didn't know what she saw, but he knew that look all too well. Something told him that if it were anyone else, she would have killed them on the spot.

But he didn't say anything at first, he watched Elisa with a patient expression. There was something tearing at her, was it because she wanted to be human? For Sorns, he remembered how many times he listened to his father tell him why they had the power to take a human form. It was simply because to keep themselves hidden from the eyes of other humans. But it wasn't because of them feeling guilty. It was to ensure their safety. Granted Lily was one of the only few of the Togamis that could be able to walk through the streets without impunity, but still Sorns felt in his heart there was a reason why he was like this. He was a slayer because of his father's side, but Chattur'gha...there was something more to him. He took his mother's curse into his body before he was even brought to this world. When the powers began to emerge, he knew he needed to talk about it with someone. And that was what Sorns felt, He can only imagine the tempest in her heart and head. As he sat down next to her, he looked at the ground before turning his head to look at her covered face. "If you like to talk about it, I'm right here." He had a feeling that she would probably punch him for the idea, but he was ready for it. He wanted to help Elisa and help with sorting out her demons.

(This was probably a side to Elisa that she was afraid of showing anyone, let alone Sorns. And to be honest, she had no IDEA what she was thinking, allowing him to get involved with the whole nightmare problem. Maybe it was because if she hadn't told him and he DID wake her, she'd be almost certainly trying to kill him for seeing this, instead of just throwing down that threat. It wasn't that Elisa wanted to be human, per se. The actual species she was didn't matter, it was irrelevent. The problem was with how she acted and reacted. As of yet, she had no answers to how to handle the world instead of trying to destroy it. When she didn't care about things, she was still suffering, but hiding it well. She still hides things, but for a different purpose. The only way she handled the world was through repressing her darkest emotions, which gave way to the most distressing behavior. In dreams, Elisa's mind punished her for that. It's unhealthy to repress yourself. For long moments at a time, Elisa didn't even register that Sorns was beside her.)

"If you like to talk about it, I'm right here."

(It took her a couple minutes more to figure out what to say. Where do you start when your problems are a big box labeled "Everything" and that the box is also inside? She wasn't sure how much to let out, in case one or all of those things she'd done would offend Sorns. Once she had a handle on it, though, Elisa began to speak...in a tone that suggested confession. Because part of what she was and part of what she hid was a number of things that she didn't dare speak to everyone. Because of the deal...)

Elisa: It all started with my father... I never knew him, but I loved him for who he was. He did things for the benefit of all, and for those who trusted him best, and those he loved the most. He tried to change the world...and I never knew him. He was dead before I awoke...

(Note, she said 'awoke', not 'born'.)

Elisa: One word... He could've left me one word before he died! I don't know what to think, what he would've wanted...

(This left a number of questions involving the dream she had. Whatever occurred in Elisa's mind, it was rife with the confusion and the misery she was feeling now. It sounded as though, amongst other things, she was trying to solve a mystery that'd been plaguing her since the beginning. A mystery that couldn't be solved, so she agonized over it without end. It was the sort of thing that made Elisa lose control of herself, that caused her either to break or to rage. Tonight, she might break.)

At first Sorns didn't say anything. Just from what he could see from Elisa, there was plenty on her mind. He didn't really blame her though. He had been only recently able to see a little bit of her past through what she called the "Enclave". Granted he had thought that they meant something different compared to Gilgamesh. It was no surprise to him that he heard rumors of his grandmother Seran slowly buying up large quantities of stocks through various corporations and strongarm tactics with some of the clients that she had within her weapon manufacturing company. She had been trying to hurt them where it would cause the greatest damage: their wallets. If she could be able to get her hands on the funds that kept them functioning, then she would essentially own them. But it was going to take some time, but eventually he had a feeling that she would be in control of them all.

But he then thought about Elisa's father. In a way, he could have imagine him being someone like his father Istamu or his grandfather Lance. They fought hard to battle against those who would try to hurt those who would try to harm their friends or family. But with Sorns, he always considered the more simpler approach. When she said "awoke", he'd imagine that she was referring to being asleep in the middle of the night when he had died. But as he sat silently, he then turned to look at her. "Elisa, if you don't mind me asking, what happened to your father?" There was sensitivity and concern in his voice as he talked. He knew there was a good chance of her snapping at him. But he still wanted to know what was going on. Something told him that whatever happened to her father had been an influential part of the puzzle that was Elisa.

"Elisa, if you don't mind me asking, what happened to your father?"

Elisa: Which one?

(Then, she guffawed and laughed...although it wasn't a very pleasant laugh. More like unstable. It ended in a slight whimper, and then she was staring out at the opposite wall, but probably not focusing on it. His question actually led to a problem of context. There was the father she loved...and the father she knew. Though...the one that she knew was admirable and responsible, so...you understand the inherent problem here, right? No? Well, let's have Elisa explain, then. Her tone hadn't changed, though. It was like she couldn't bear to leave it unsaid. Up front, Elisa never liked to talk about anything personal, so this was a damn switch, wasn't it?)

Elisa: In a way, I have two fathers. There's the one who died for a cause and there's the one that took me in. My father...and Som's father. The same man...twice. But they're not the same... I'm adopted into my own family, but it isn't mine and I don't belong because I killed everyone who ever lived!

(The last part was sort of a ramble in misery, and it didn't make very much sense. In fact, the entire sentence was a massive countradiction that only people in the know could easily decipher. Was Sorns such a person? We'll see. But Elisa was now gripping the bed sheets like she was going to tear chunks of it off, eyes tightly shut. Finally, she seemed to calm down, proclaiming one thing of importance.)

Elisa: God, I need a drink...

Parallel dimensions...

Sorns knew this all too well. Not because of him being in another dimension, but because of his mother Namir. He never got to know his grandfather Sornas, but he did learn stories about him through his mother Namir. When he asked about his grandfather from Seran, she didn't say much about it. But it was alright since it might have been a sore subject with her. He had known about the possibility of different worlds than their own. Choices that would define what impact the universe would receive from it. Clearly whatever happened with her father from the dimension she was a part of was responsible in some way of her development. He got up for a moment and walked over to the fridge. He remembered her asking for milk when they were at the Togami compound. Plus he didn't really have a lot of strong things. He felt that his body and alcohol would be a very severe combination to use in him. With a pair of shot glasses that he got from his grandmother in hand, he set them on the night stand and poured each glass halfway up. He kept the bottle near the stand as he looked into her eyes. He wanted to go deeper, but he was going to be careful. "When you said you killed everyone, is it because your father had died where you came from Elisa?" He can only imagine what would happen to him if he even lost a single member in his family. Combined his rage with Chattur'gha and he would be the most devastating beserker ever known.

(The glass meant for Elisa was gone before Sorns set down the stand. Elisa was immediately sitting Indian style and gulping the stuff down as one does hard liquor. Looking into her eyes, it was obvious that while the milk was starting to take effect, they'd been shaking. He'd have to be REALLY damn careful is he wanted to probe further here. Elisa wasn't exactly a light-weight. Not heavy, either, but she had her moments, so to speak. Sitting on the bed, she fiddled with the empty glass.)

"When you said you killed everyone, is it because your father had died where you came from Elisa?"

(She wasn't so affected by the milk that the question didn't shoot off a visible pang of guilt. She didn't know why she was talking like this. Overall, she hated talking about any of it, because of who she was and what she'd done. More to the point, it hurt to remember. And yet...a part of her held belief that she might get better somehow. She wasn't sure, of course. In any case, Elisa nodded numbly to answer his question, but then she glared almost menacingly.)

Elisa: It was murder... I did it because he was killed by his own peers...by his own world! I never saw his face... I know he looks like Jake, of course, but the important part was he was mine! I don't even know what he'd think of me... I use to believe that I was right, but then Jake told me otherwise and...

(She didn't finish her sentence, but let it sort of drain away. For a moment, no reaction, and then...there was a strange smile on her face, but not the most stable of ones, to be sure. It had that drunken quality of amusement, which meant that she was starting to get funny off the drink. Her harsher look changed on a blink, and now she was looking at him with that drunken look.)

Elisa: You know, you're being rather bold, letting a Moonian minor get drunk like this. Me losing inhibitions is like setting loose everything the Enclave ever made. Which, incidentally...I know more than you realize. They implanted it, yanno. Between that an' my problems, I could probably bend your brain in half. Or I might jus' hit ya with sheer megaton force. Dunno yet. Thing about us in Moonia... So damn moody.

Sorns didn't say it, but in his mind and heart he knew that he would have done things quite the same with his own family. Granted he would only focus on those who were responsible, but he began to think that Elisa didn't know who was the determining factor: the one who betrayed him the worst. It had to be something that needed to put him off the deep end. Something that would give him enough reason to fight against the heavens. At least, that is what he would have done. He was about to take a sip of milk from the shotglass when she talked about getting an underage Moonian drunk. When he just heard the word drunk, he sighed and put the glass down. "Sorry about that, it must have been my grandmother..." his voice was distant when he dipped his finger into his own shotglass. Granted he didn't know much about Moonian biology, so he naturally believed that it was Seran who had spiked his drinks. She had been getting a lot smarter with it. She used odorless or liquor that had a very faint scent of alcohol. Knowing his grandmother, she must have spiked his milk with gin or vodka. Sticking the finger in his mouth, there was no taste of alcohol. He was surprised and it showed on his face. He didn't know that about Elisa's race. "I guess I should be more careful next time," he said with a sweatdrop.

Taking a sip from the shotglass, he sighed softly as he looked into her eyes. "To be honest, I can understand your anger Elisa. I think my grandfather can understand that too. A long time ago someone took my other grandmother Phoenix. I don't much of the details, but one thing was clear: whoever did it faked her death. My grandfather was beside himself and he wanted more than anything to find the answers and it continued to gnaw at him until he wanted to make whoever did it suffer for what they did. Seran did her best to keep his rage in check, but usually he found himself in someplace secluded to rip through something like junked cars or an uninhabited land mass. That anger shouldn't be kept inside because even if releasing it is bad, keeping it bottled up is even worse. So though I agree with Jake that what happened was wrong, but on the other hand I can't really blame you." Sorns seemed to be going through much of his mind when it came to the family's history. There were a lot of times when they dealt with near misses in the way of death. But then again, it did come with the territory. "As for my father, he too would understand why because there if there is one man he and I wanted to kill above all else, it was a cannibal by the name of Adrian." As he said his name, he clenched his teeth hard. He could feel a shift in his flesh to turn into his slayer form. He would never forget that man and what he did to his mother Namir.

"I guess I should be more careful next time."

(On some level, it amused Elisa to find Sorns sniffing the glass and all. His milk glass, he would not find spiked at all. It was the normal stuff, which led to questions about the girl, but not any sort of one that Elisa would answer directly. She listened as Sorns talked about his own family and similar things to her own problems. It was a long sort of explanation, but she understood it. The trouble was that it wasn't enough to really be on the same level. It wasn't a matter of what she'd almost done in response to things. It was that she had DONE things that were monstrous and would do them again, most likely. She shook her head at Sorns.)

Elisa: You don't understand, or...at least not enough. I'm not what you'd expect. I'm prime warrior material, but they wanted a weapon. And when the weapon broke her heart, it turned to darkness... And then all the screams of the world couldn't drown her sorrow. But she tried to do it anyway...

(She was talking half out of fear and half out of unstable moodiness. Elisa indicated that it wasn't just a few deaths involved. It was ALOT of deaths and bloodshed and destruction during a time where she let her emotions go at last and burned the world for it. It was all a blinding intense hatred for human beings and the metas wwho lived with them, all guilty across the board so they had to die. Only now is Elisa mature enough to accept the horror as just that: Horror. She looked at Sorns, suddenly vulnerable again.)

Elisa: My anger kills, Sorns. Not just a little, but lots. I've killed more than you have. I've killed more than anyone has. I did it all for my father...and I don't even know how he'd really react. Even when I feel I'm doing the right thing, there's always something that tells me I'm wrong!

(Because there were two Jakes and two of her, she didn't know if the killing was wrong or not. Some said no, and others said yes. The first man she fell in love with said she was right, but others said he was wrong. What was she suppose to do when little parts of her wanted to curl up and die inside?)

Sorns knew this all too well.

If humans wanted the perfect killing machine, they needed to remove two things: free will and the heart. But as hard as they tried, they always emerge with a severe vegence. Sometimes with an explosion of rage and other times the victim would suffer in silence. On the other hand, he knew all too well about rage. Rage that can choke whatever feelings you have and twist them into a psychotic mass ready to explode at a moment's notice. He knew this rage because of his own father when it came to the cannibal. If he was ever given the chance, he would slowly kill him. And if he ever unlocked the secrets of Chattur'gha, then he would use its power to prolong his suffering for months or at the very worst years. He wanted him to answer for everything that he had committed. As she spoke, his thoughts continued to go back to his family. Specifically to his great grandfather and his grandfather.

As he made a circle along the rim of the glass with his finger, he seemed to be thinking as he spoke. "The fact that you do wonder about the morality shows that you are a living being, not a weapon. But even though there are people who think what we do is wrong, they don't get the luxury of knowing the truth. So the only thing we can do is endure." As he poured another shot of milk into his glass, he continued to ponder to himself. "There was something my great grandfather once told me. He said,"Sorns, good and evil are not absolute truths. In time you will learn that sometimes people can do good things for bad reasons and bad things for good reasons." So when I look at you and think about your story, I don't just look at what you did. I don't know who made you the way you are, but they are the ones who are guilty. One day I hope they do answer for the crimes they did to you, but until that time we have to endure for those that we love." Finishing another glass, he set the shot glass down again while looking at the table. "I may not know who your father is personally, but I have a feeling he would watch over you. And if that is the case, I would imagine he wouldn't want you to suffer anymore."

"The fact that you do wonder about the morality shows that you are a living being, not a weapon. But even though there are people who think what we do is wrong, they don't get the luxury of knowing the truth. So the only thing we can do is endure."

Elisa: The devil you say.

(At this point, Elisa had had several drinks of the milk...done so by the use of some quick reflexes..and was now bordering between the drunken-amusement and drunken-irritability of being classically drunk. A drunken Moonian has been known to be both charming AND violent, dependent on the circumstances. Elisa could only do as Elisa does, whatever fits her singular nature. Some of the things Sorns was talking about were beginning to get on her nerves, though. It was like she expected him to comprehend quicker, and to realize what sort of person she was. A part of her, she noticed, was waiting for him to despise her, to reel in horror at the monster that was put in Moonian form. That was her cynical side, but definitely a side of her that was never too drunk on optimism to forget reality.)

"I may not know who your father is personally, but I have a feeling he would watch over you. And if that is the case, I would imagine he wouldn't want you to suffer anymore."

(Elisa sighed irritably, putting down the glass - empty, of course - and then belly-flopping onto the bed.)

Elisa: Like I said...I never knew my father. My impression of him is of a meta-human who's smart and powerful and influential...but very ticked off at people in general. He tried to end all war by saying he would ruin every weapon until nothing but clubs and rocks were left. Never would've killed a soul. He was just...tired of people. That's what I get from what I was told. I never knew because I was...

(She cut herself off. Why was she talking to him like this. If she was going to keep this up, it'd be better to spell it out to him. That's what her highly-organized and drunken mind was saying to her now. If he was going to hate her, then she may as well have made it good. Elisa sat up and crouched on the bed to stare Sorns right in the face, right in the eyes, with her violet eyes taking on an unearthly glow. She didn't seem affected by inebbriation now, but that was because it was working overtime on her inhibitions. Her glare showed a certain quality of anger and hatred that could set fires with the emotion alone.)

Elisa: You were worried about the people responsible for me? Don't. They're dead, no exception. The people who led them, dead. The people who killed my father, dead. This school, dead. The armies that survived my father, dead. All seven continents, wiped out. I didn't stop for anything. I didn't care. Every last one of them dead until I was all alone...

(Towards the end of her statement, tears formed and went down her cheeks, her stern voice cracking when she said "all alone". Her cat-like ears lowered and suddenly the emotion of sadness kicked in as she sat back, head down.)

Elisa: I just... I didn't want them to get away with it, with what they did to us! It's all wrong, dammit...

There was something there.

To Sorns, he could only imagine the experiments that Elisa would have to endure during her time. Whatever they did, it was going to be there forever in Elisa's heart, mind and soul. No amount of talking was going to get rid of that. That was why Sorns did feel concerned for her well being. Even though there was some pretty intense memories that she did share with him, he still knew he couldn't judge her. Not just in her actions, but also her creation. Many of the progenitors of the Togami bloodline were a part of the same experiments, but were in various departments ranging from genetics to the supernatural and the extraterrestial. However, Sorns might never know about what really happened back in that world. He may never be able to get that information, but it was the past. And what ever is in her past was continuing to devour from the inside until there was nothing left. He sat down so that he was looking at her. However, he didn't do anything like lifting her chin up because he still didn't know if she was angry when drunk. "So what happened has happened, the only question now is what will you do in the present? All who were responsible have been dealt with. I may not know about your past, but you still have control over the now. I can help you if you like."

"So what happened has happened, the only question now is what will you do in the present? All who were responsible have been dealt with. I may not know about your past, but you still have control over the now. I can help you if you like."

Elisa: Heh.

(Sudden unexpected laugh. Was that a good sign or bad? It's hard to tell... Elisa knew that everyone responsible was dead. That was the point. Well, there was still ONE person, but she didn't have what it took to end herself and it wasn't really high on her idea-list anyway. Elisa had thought, on occasion, how she could possibly die by her own hand when she was so strong. But then, she realized that an ordinary knife could do it, because her skin and organs were only reinforced and not super-strong. It was the loophole of not looking and feeling like a walking tank. She could be cut and shot. So no...that laugh was not a good laugh.)

Elisa: I have as much control as any person with a scary past. In my worst moods, I'm a monster, and in my best moods, I'm a sadist. But hey...tell me something, Sorns.

(She then looked over at him...and it was not a all entirely pleasant. Elisa's eyes were glowing and she was giving him an angry glare. But...she was also smiling in an unhinged sort of way as she sat there.)

Elisa: What sort of help were you planning to give if I was ever out of control? I want to know what you'd actually DO if I got back into old habits. I'm in this school to make a better me. So...if it didn't pan out and I went nuts, what would you do?

(Her gaze was not steady. She was actually trembling slightly. She'd been here long enough to grow a conscience, but not necessarily confidence in how to make herself better. Moments like these made Elisa believe that she was no more capable of changing than the Rock of Gibralter could suddenly get up and walk away. If Sorns wanted to be some kind of confident she could trust, he'd BETTER know the answers here, or he might be in trouble. Errr...make that he will be in trouble.)

At first Sorns didn't say anything. In his eyes he didn't see a monster. He had seen much worse people than her, he had heard of worse people than her. And even though she had destroyed everything in the world that she had belonged to, it wasn't because of the desire to conquer or to torture. It was because she lost someone dear to her and something very bad must have happened on top of her father's death. But that was when he thought about the question she had given him. Without blinking, he looked into her eyes as he spoke. "I would everything that I had learned from my training and what made me who I am to make sure the fight will only be between you and me." His voice was serious as he looked into her eyes. However, he wasn't sure that it was a the answer she was looking for. But the question wasn't a new one. It was something his father Istamu had to make when his mother Namir had been possessed by Chattur'gha. As much as Istamu loved Namir, he couldn't let her through. So because he loved her, he made sure all of the hits were made upon him. It wasn't about victory for his father just as much as it wasn't about victory for Sorns. He would stop her or at the very least use himself to drain her strength.

"I would use everything that I had learned from my training and what made me who I am to make sure the fight will only be between you and me."

Elisa: Ah heh...

(The half-Moonian's eye twitched. Then, without warning, she began to snicker, almost uncontrollably, her eyes shutting as she grabbed her sides. She fell back onto the bed and went into a full out-loud laugh that was not met in good humor, but sounded more like it was an unceasing cackle of madness. Sorns, that was not a good answer, or not good enough. It presumed too much, too quickly. Elisa was not someone you could actually prevent from doing things. The only reason that things happened between her and Jake the way they did was because she felt she had to confront him. She was a bit like MD Geist. If she wanted calamities to happen, she could find ways to do that and make sure that the interference only makes things worse. Things like that were just in her mind, waiting to be used.)

Elisa: You think you can get in my way, is that it? Like a big hurdle or something? You're a bag of blood, waiting to blow! You're a smudge!

(She rolled back in a reverse somersault off the bed to stand up across from him. Elisa was suddenly in a bad mood, maybe the worst Sorns had ever seen. She was highly-agitated and pissed in a righteously unstable way. The way she looked at him was as though she didn't like his existence right now, like he'd failed to justify himself in some way, or that he was mocking her.)

Elisa: You arrogant son-of-a... What makes you think you could ever stop me?! I can tear apart this building with my HANDS! In the heat of a moment, you're NOTHING to me! NOTHING!!!

(On the scream of the last word, Elisa did a zero-to-sixty leap over the bed with a gut-punch to match. Not a normal punch, but a battering ram punch that makes the front of cars just go "Fuck it!". Follow-up punch was to the face, and then back to torso. But something was definitely wrong. She wasn't out to tear Sorns apart. She was just angry, and confused, and kind of drunk. He was just the convenient meat puppet to beat on. She seemed to be at some kind of a breaking point. Sorns would be dead before she ran out of strength, but Elisa's emotions and frame of mind got in the way of motivation when it came to taking on someone relatively close to her. She tried to kill Som and Andrew and her father, but it was more like she felt there was no alternative but to do that. It wasn't necessarily because she liked it, in the end. Sadism only gets you so far.)

Elisa: Goddamn it, Sorns... Stop thinking like you're the invincible brick wall. I'm trying to warn you, you fucking idiot! The moment you say they won't kill you, that's when they pull the trigger! What good are you if you're gonna stand there like a lump?! Why do you even bother?! ANSWER ME!!

(There are times when you have to be strong and there are times when you have to be honest. Sorns was doing enough of the first, but something about him trying to keep all the pain focused on him alone rang false, like he couldn't commit to fighting back. It wasn't good enough. Would he really just try to get in the way, like Vash The Stampede? Arrogant... If she flipped out, she wanted someone to put Jack back in the box, not let'im pop you in the face every time they climaxed 'Pop Goes The Weasel'.)

Sorns seen this before, the angry drunk. This was usually typical with Seran more than Phoenix. If anything, Phoenix and Lance kept her from going all out. But when she was at that stage, the more distance put between the enemy and Seran the better. That is why Lance had built a bunker in case she was bringing a client over to the compound. He would get everyone in with the likelihood that she would either use one of the many weapons she built against said client or simply just go all out and use Devil's Advocate on them. That was why he was expecting just about anything from Elisa. He didn't know much about Moonian anatomy and how milk works on them. But it didn't take an expert to know that she was going to get very aggressive very soon. As soon as she looked like she was going to go for the kill, he kept his right foot back with the thought that she was going to go for the jugular. Thankfully she didn't, but still it hurt regardless. He was knocked flat on his back from all three attacks as he coughed up blood.

However, as blood came out of his mouth he still stood up. Even if everyone told him to stay down, he knew in his heart that he would not go down. Through all the anger he seen with Elisa, there was still something more. He could see fear in her eyes. He got up on one knee as he shook his head from the stars he had been seeing. As he got up, he still appeared to be a silent giant compared to Elisa. He didn't say anything to her though. He didn't even transform. As he looked into her glowing eyes and he did something that wasn't expected. He didn't even think Elisa would expect it. He held his arms out and while he was wincing in pain and blood had been trickling steadily out of his mouth, he hugged her as well as he could with a hurting midsection and a head that was still trying to reorganized.

(Drunken attitude hadn't fouled up coordination, but it had clearly let up on a few inhibitions. It did nothing to clear up her psyche, though. On the one hand, the anger from her attack was an act upon the sudden rage of the moment, doing something we all wish we hadn't. But on the other hand, as she watched him go down, a conflicting mental message was saying things to the effect of 'God, I almost killed him like I said I would...', which had a more fearful reaction. After her shouting and punching and more shouting, Elisa was more out of breathe from speaking than the hitting. Her thoughts were as confused as she looked.)

Elisa: Why wouldn't he fight back? Everyone else knows you fight back or die! Why would you just stand there, dammit!? WHY?!

(She watched silently as he got back on his feet, noticably disoriented from the blows he'd taken. This whole thing confused Elisa to a high degree. She could respect the strength of fighters to any extent, but to allow yourself to simply be punished for no reason... It was madness. Did he want to die? She could end him, fast. An instinct even shouted 'He's open!', while her own thought immediately following was 'NO!'. Because she wanted an answer. She needed to know his resolve, and the meaning behind it. To stand in her way? God, what are you thinking to put yourself into so much pain?)

Elisa: You can't expect mercy from me. I never get any mercy, so why should I give any back? Dammit, why won't you SPEAK?!

(Because Sorns wasn't saying anything, the fear and confusion in the anger was more obvious. A beast without any triggers was a beast without direction. There was nothing more to react to. He wasn't attacking, he wasn't threatening, he wasn't disapproving or fearing or doing ANYTHING to give her initiative into one action or another. So, the part of her mind that tactically dictates her moves based on prompts from others was without a clue. Without that security or any clear notion of what to do for herself, well...you could see the effect. But then, Sorns came over and hugged her, despite whatever pains he had in his body.)

Elisa: What...the...?

(Her eyes went wide with shock, suddenly unable to finish a thought. Had this been during an ordinary time, Elisa would've probably socked him in the jaw. But this was a different time, and Elisa was emotionally unguarded. The glow in her eyes faded and her ears drooped low as her anger just broke down. Silent tears ran from her shocked eyes before they shut and she cried a bit more audibly. She started to hold onto Sorns, but carefully. She knew exactly how much damage she'd done.)

Elisa: Sorns.....sorry...

(What the hell was she doing? Trying to kill him to prove a point? He let her train with his family, to bring back skills that could probably decimate the entire world all over again. He put his trust in her and she beats the crap out of him in her frustration over dreams and bad memories!)

Sorns didn't say anything at first, his body was still racked in pain. But as he held her in his arms, he was able to make one sentence tangible while still in pain. Moving his head slowly next to her ear, he said with a soft voice,"My mother." It was hard to see at first glance with his mother Namir. She was quite possibly the closest mother in terms of nice since Sorns' birth grandmother Phoenix. But at closer glance there were some monsters in her heart. One of the monsters was a cannibal that had wires much like Omega Red. She had been captured with her sister in tow and was trapped in a "mansion" that had been crafted with flesh and bone. Both girls were tortured and humiliated on top of being forced to eat human flesh. If his father wouldn't have made it in time, she and her sister would have died by the hands of the Assamites while locked in coffins. The second creature was clearly Chattur'gha, the one who had given him all of his power in the first place. She took the power of the Anicent when she was in her most vulnerable moment: the man who tortured her was now beating her husband to death as she laid there helpless. She took in the power, and was turned into a monster. And now the monster was in him. But to Sorns, it didn't matter to him. He was willing to take it after everything his mother went through. He knew when he found out what happened that things brought to such an extreme would not happen to those he knows and cares about.

"My mother."

(What? Wait... Okay, there was a look of slight confusion on Elisa's face for a moment, but then her brain went work without her say-so. Sorns had told her before, back when they first met, of the things that had happened with his mother. He was basically telling her that he was the way that he was because of her and how he felt about situations similar to her own. Elisa wasn't really sure why that extended to her as well, but it was probably that she and Sorns had grown to be close friends that he did. Really, it must've shocked him to find the normally reliable strong-arm of a girl falling apart, but he didn't know how emotionally immature she'd been upon awakening. Lately, though, we can safely say that Elisa's done alot of growing in that sense. Now, she spoke up, soberly.)

Elisa: We were never allowed a normal life. Everything we might've been was destroyed before we were even born.

(In other words, Elisa was acknowledging that she understood quite clearly. Sorns was...similar to her, and she never even took that into account, never paid much a mind to that fact. He was always just the dunderheaded colleague, big-and-tall Sorns who could become a raptor at will. She didn't really think about how much alike their lives had been, after a fashion. He was just Sorns. Though, it was probably this revelation that made this moment of theirs feel less awkward.)

Elisa: I'm really too hard on you sometimes, Sorns.
