Vampires were cool. Hell she had dated a werewolf so it wasn't surprising.

"Vampires are really cool. I haven't met one here yet. No doubt I'll meet one sooner or later. Then again I've met a snake guy with vamp teeth," she said looking at him.

"I think thats the best way to write history. at least that way you know its true and not filtered through something. Its annoying to learn history and find out how it happened in five different way and any of them could be wrong."

"Heh. Yeah. And the text books are boring as hell."

Oh, yeah...nothing like reading five pages about some guy who played a minor part in the role of a king whose only real benefit to history was being the third in a long line of self-serving ass holes. Yeah, that was real fun. But if you put history in a form that people actually enjoyed, like manga or anime, it was something else entirely. Why not make fun of history by a hint of realism into it? Although he was kind of surprised at hearing about vampires like they were real, he supposed he probably shouldn't have been; after all, what about that American who'd killed eighteen people in France? Stupid Americans. Werewolves weren't exactly friendly to begin with, but at least they had better fashion sense.

"Well most of them. I don't care for reading, then again I move too much for that," she said. "Don't know a vamp but I have had my fair share of lycans."

She use to never speak of that time but she was over it now. Tyriek had been a werewolf. She knew all about their world. It had been fun while being there. Even if she had been kidnapped and threatened. Then again she'd been in a lot of fights since then.

"Those are some crazy people if you ask me."

((Lycans? Seriously? Too many underworld fans out there...))

"Someone needs to figure out how to control them. They're too dangerous for normal society."

How was it that they couldn't control themselves, anyway? How did they function in normal society without tearing their friends apart? Not everyone was brilliant, so it's not like they all planned ahead. 'I'm gonna be a werewolf when I grow up!'

(( Don't think so. Never saw Underworld. I love writing and science fiction. I read too much XD ))

"A lot of them have control. Though the ones I met enjoyed a taste. There are a few good werewolves out there. I knew one," she said.

Werewolves weren't her favorite because they had kidnapped her and then threatened her friends. It had been a rough time. But if she looked back at it now, she probably would have gotten a rush from it.

Hotaka shrugged. He couldn't speak for them or against them. He'd never personally met any. Also, the news was depressing, so he never watched it. He wasn't one to dwell in misery just so he'd have a negative outlook on life. He might be a little cynical (who wasn't?), but he wasn't emo or a disaster chaser. He was just a guy who liked sleep, sex, food, and more sex (typically in that order).

"Don't know any, so I can't talk. Can't really trust rumors either, but you go on what you hear. Me, I just ignore the world. Much safer that way."

Except where women were concerned, of course, and most of the time he didn't even focus on that. Actually, though he loved sex, he wasn't going to go out of his way to get it if a girl wasn't interested. If she couldn't dig in, neither could he. What was the point then?

"May be safer but I enjoy to know whats going on in the world," she said. "Especially in Chicago. My family may not be able to get a hold of me but if something happens there, I know and then I can try to make sure they are alright," she said with a shrug.

Though that wasn't the information she really needed to know. The stuff she wanted to know was the whereabout of the people thats tried to kill her and her friends. It seems like every time she turns around someone is trying to kill another. Unconsciously, she rubbed her side. The same side she had been stabbed and then ripped it open the next day in a battle against a werewolf. Big surprise.

Family? Ha. That was an interesting concept. It was an alien one, too, as far as Hotaka was concerned. Hotaka's father treated his relationship with his children like they were all members of some kind of martial arts team. Hotaka's mother was never around, but when she was, she treated her father like an animal and Hotaka like he was some kind of employee or long-time friend; Hotaka could never quite figure out which it was.

"My family isn't worth the trouble," Hotaka replied, and that was the truth.

In his mind, it was simply too much trouble to worry about people that could care less about family unity.

She looked at him. Family was precious in her eyes and in her twins. They had similar views. Their friend Adrianna had no family so she wasn't really worried about anyone but herself and her friends. Midnight eyes didn't judge his reaction or who he was. Stella simply shrugged.

"Everyone has their own problems. I had a friend who's father turned her into a science experiment instead of caring for her. Not every family is worth the trouble," she said.
